Americans are beginning to witness the horrific results of months of brutal anti-Trump propaganda. When the blathering celebs from the entertainment industry turn award shows and late night television into incessant Trump-hating diatribes, and the mainstream news establishment produces an endless cycle of reporting aimed at dehumanizing the president and questioning his sanity, there are social consequences.
If society is on the edge of collapse, as the media portrays, and the president is responsible, it stands to reason that people will seek to eliminate him. That is precisely what happened last month when Travis Luke Dominguez threatened to kill President Trump and any law enforcement officers who stood in his way.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Utah indicted Dominguez on 11 counts this week for making threats against the president, police officers, and people at a Utah bank, movie theater complex, and a business. The 33-year-old Midvale, Utah native planned to assassinate Trump during a December 4 visit to Salt Lake City.
Starting on November 13 and lasting more than a month, the would-be-assassin apparently made seven recorded calls to FBI and Unified Police Department tip lines stating his intent to kill the president and hurt other local citizens.
Law enforcement officials quoted Dominguez as saying:
I’m going to kill the sexist racist homophobic President Trump today. Nothing you can do to save President Trump nor stop me pigs.
Dominguez’s description of Trump is thematic of the left’s attempts to frame the president as Hitler-incarnate. In fact, he could have been directly quoting one of many prominent liberal figures who have used the exact same adjectives to describe Trump.
Hillary Clinton, for example, famously used those very words to characterize “half of Trump’s supporters.” The twice-failed presidential nominee lumped conservatives into a “basket of deplorables” who she called “racist, sexist, [and] homophobic … ”
Not to be outdone, Clinton’s democratic rival used the same terminology from Twitter, complete with instructions to resist the president.
Huffington Post contributor Andy Ostroy agrees with Dominguez, but has a few more slurs to add to explain the president’s perceived unpopularity (Trump’s approval ratings are at a six-month high):
Liberal folk hero?
No wonder, then, that Dominguez was suddenly inspired to assassinate Trump. By eliminating such a hateful monster, the Utah man could only expect to be treated like a hero by the nastier elements of the left.
On December 4, Dominguez made up his mind, writing, “I woke up and decided [I am] going to kill the president.”
While Melodie Rydalch, a spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney’s office, claims that there is no evidence that Dominguez traveled anywhere to carry out his many threats, court records tell a different story; he was arrested on New Year’s Eve outside a South Jordan Multiplex Theater that police say he threatened to bomb.
Facing 10 years for each of the 11 indictments he faces, Dominguez may be locked up for a very long time. Given the polarized political atmosphere and the perpetual presidential hate-mongering on display from the media and politicians, Dominguez may not be the last one to decide to make an attempt on the President’s life.
