The Infinite Supply of the Lord
by Chip Brogden
“Master, we have toiled all night, and caught nothing: nevertheless, at Your word, we will let down the nets” (Luke 5:5).

If we were to interview several Christians I think we would find many of them are like Simon Peter. They work and they toil but seldom do they see any result. So they become frustrated and tired. It seems as though they are running in quicksand. All too often they give up, thinking the Christian life is too difficult. Or they become “burned out” and leave the work the Lord called them to do.

There is only one solution for “burn out”. If only we would see that the Christian life is “not I, but Christ” (Galatians 2:20ff) we would see that God’s way is not for us to toil all night and catch nothing. We have our limits, and after a night of failure, we are ready to go home. So the key is to rely on Someone Who is limitless, and not make a move until we hear from Him. It is never a question of my own resources, but of His. I will always fail, but He cannot; therefore, I trust in His Life to do what I cannot do, and the Infinite Supply of the Lord is released.

No One Else is Worthy
Hey Elaine,

We continue our Christ-centered study of the Book of Revelation with chapter 5, and we understand why a Christ-centered faith is so essential: because...

NO ONE ELSE (but Christ) IS WORTHY.

Religion tricks people into believing that somehow they are more "worthy" than their unbelieving family, friends, and neighbors because they keep the commandments, go to church, read the Bible, or prayed a prayer back in 1952.

However, from the perspective of Heaven, no one in Heaven or Earth is worthy of anything - except One.

THAT is preeminence!

In fact, they searched Heaven and Earth for someone worthy enough to break the seals and read the scroll - buy they couldn't even find some worthy to LOOK at the scroll, much less open it and read it.

This is an astonishing revelation that exposes the lie of religion and legalism.

Only Christ is Worthy.

To "walk worthy of our calling" is to walk in Him Who alone is worthy; there is no worthiness in walking outside of Him (in fact, that's the root of the problem - walking outside of Christ, pretending God approves of everything we do).

You are only accepted "in the Beloved" because He is the only one who is acceptable to God - outside of Christ, all of us are unacceptable and unworthy.

Don't fight it - embrace it!

Because in Him, you are acceptable and worthy and valuable.

That's just one of the big takeaways from this week's online class:

Ziklag: The Test of Kings
 Chip Brogden
David turned tragedy into triumph. He passed the Ziklag test. He did not have his crown yet – that would come later, but that did not matter right now.

He did not need a crown or a throne to prove he was a king. His kingship was demonstrated there in the rubble of Ziklag, where he learned to encourage himself in the Lord His God.

I believe that every one of us will, at least one time in our life, come face-to-face with a Ziklag experience. Everything you have in this world is either taken away or burning down right before your eyes.

Friends, I have learned that when things like this “come to pass” in your life, you have a choice. You can get bitter, or you can get better. Six hundred men chose to get bitter. That is the easy path. One man chose to get better. That is the narrow path.
Kings are anointed by God and selected based on how they respond to situations like this.

How would you respond?

Chip Brogden

"Come up HERE, and
I will SHOW you..."

Hey Elaine,

It's easy to get lost in this present world - so consumed by the cares of this life, the urgencies and happenings on Planet Earth, the politics and power struggles, "breaking news" and public opinion - that we lose our ability to see things from the perspective of Heaven.

We cannot make sense of earthly things with earthly wisdom.

You're not going to figure it out by looking around at what's going on, watching the news incessantly, or listening to television preachers trying to make sense of it for you.

That's why the Voice from Above in Revelation 4:1 invites John (and us) to "COME UP HERE" to see what is really going on, and what to expect.

That's the secret!
"Come up HERE..."

And so, Revelation 4 marks an important transition in our teaching, when we leave behind the cares and concerns of the ekklesias in Asia, take a big step back (and UP), and begin to consider THE BIG PICTURE from the perspective of the Throne of God.

This BIG PICTURE is bigger than me, you, or the Body of Christ.

Exciting stuff!

Will you join us?

The class starts in two days...

Revival, or Reformation?
by Chip Brogden
There have always been some who not only recognize the glaring deficiencies of what the church is, but are grieved and troubled by what they see, to the point that they cannot remain content to let things continue on, but are compelled to do something about it.

Of these blessed few who choose to stand up and speak out against the religious system, the response seems to fall along one of three approaches. As we will see, only one approach is harmonious with the prophetic example set forth in the history of the people of God, and it is the one approach that seems to be the last resort instead of the first recourse. But let us consider them in the proper order.

This is How the Word is
SUPPOSED to Work...
Hey Elaine,

Here is an email I recently received from someone attending the Revelation series of teachings.

"I just had to drop you a note to thank you so much for doing this webinar on the Book of Revelation... These teachings have touched me deeply. It has caused me to really examine myself and honestly it upset me terribly.... I love that you spent much time teaching about the letters to the 7 Churches......you were right about most (if not all) skimming over that part of Revelation.  All I have ever heard from that Book was judgement. Thank you for your boldness in telling it as it is in the Word of God. I pray that it touched others as much as it has touched me. Your work is not in vain and I thank you so much again."

What I like so much about this person is they didn't argue, fuss, defend, get mad, or unsubscribe like a spoiled little baby when they heard something that made them upset or uncomfortable.

Instead, this person allowed the Word of God to convict and change them.

As a teacher, it really doesn't get any better than that! :-)

All of us must allow the Holy Spirit to speak the necessary word of correction - and if we refuse, then it only proves that we are steeped too deeply in Religion to hear the still, small voice of Relationship telling us when we need to get over ourselves.

We must be adjusted to HIM, and get past this crazy idea that somehow God has to adjust Himself to us - He doesn't, and He won't.

The purpose of revelation is not substantiate your illusions about God, but to eliminate them.

So I hope you can join us online as we proceed through the Book of Revelation - lingering quite awhile over the messages to the seven ekklesias of Asia - to discern what, even NOW, the Spirit is saying to the you and to me if we have ears to hear.

Him We Preach
by Chip Brogden
When people touch Christianity today they are mostly touching a religious way of thinking or living or acting or talking – not Biblical Christianity, but mere Churchianity.

They are touching external things such as where, when, and how church services are to be conducted, things such as which nuance of church doctrine is correct, and so on. But seldom do they touch a real Person, and seldom are we able to get at the Person Who stands above and beyond all these other things. Compared to Him it is all so much minutia, all so very petty.

Well, all I can say is Paul did not get lost in minutia. Once he caught sight of Christ he never let go of Him...

Is LOVE Enough?
Hey Elaine,

Do any of these modern church catch-phrases sound familiar?

"Love is all we need!"

"Don't judge them, just love them!"

"Let's be tolerant and accepting of different ways of seeing things!"

"Open minds, open hearts!"

"All are welcome!"

Well, besides being the mantra of the liberal-minded and lost world, it turns out that these were popular sentiments around about 95 A.D. in some of the first Christian fellowships.

Take Thyatira, for example.

Jesus said, "I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first."

Wow!

Sounds good, right?

There's a whole lotta love in that group!

But...

"Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols..."

Ooops... look how quickly "love" ended up as a cover for seduction and sexual immorality with "prophetic" overtones - just to make it sound even better.

Here's the point...

LOVE WITHOUT LIGHT (TRUTH) LEADS TO COMPROMISE.

This is what happens when you "go along to get along."

Jesus isn't just hoping and wishing they will repent - He's warning them that a DEATH SENTENCE was hanging over them unless they change their ways.

Was Jesus warning just the church in Thyatira - or is He warning all of us?

Join us for this week's online class to learn more about Thyatira and some of the other Early Churches - the good, the bad, and the ugly.

The Crisis of a Christless Christianity
by Chip Brogden
I have said many times that we do not need more of the Lord, since we are already complete in Christ – we just need less of everything else.

There are many things that spoil, hinder, distract, and lead us away from the simplicity of an abiding relationship with Jesus. Many of them are spiritual and religious. The spirit of Antichrist is not necessarily seen in something that is obviously satanic or demonic. Instead, the spirit of Antichrist is revealed in anything that seeks to spoil us by taking our eyes off of Christ – it is anti-Christ, against Christ, antithetical to the great Purpose of God.

How easy it is for us to become distracted into something less than Christ! Are you centered on Christ? Is Jesus your obsession? Is He your focus? Or have you set your sights on something beneath Him? This speaks right to the heart of the crisis we find ourselves in today...

Hi Elaine,

"Once saved, always saved" is a fake hope - the sort of thing a religious person tends to cling to as an excuse for their lack of fruit.

"But I'm saved by grace, not by works!"

That's right - but what you DO after you have been "saved" proves whether you really are "saved" or not.

Maybe you got a Religion instead of a Relationship.

The Fruit tells the whole story, and it does not lie.

Scripture warns:

"But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe" (Jude 5).

See?

They were all saved, but they were destroyed afterwards for a lack of faith.

Who destroyed them?

The Lord!

Why?

Because they did not believe.

How do we know they did not believe?

Because their behavior did not line up with what they said they believed.

Right Belief = Right Behavior.

"If you love Me, keep My commandments."

Well, they failed the fruitfulness and faithfulness test, and God said, "Enough."

Only a Remnant - two men and their families, out of so many millions - entered the Promised Land.

We can believe and confess "Jesus is Lord" all day long... but if we're living in sin, rebellious, unrepentant, unconcerned, then clearly we don't have a Relationship with the Lord we confess - we just have a Religion (and a very shallow one, at that).

RELIGION will not save you from the judgment of God.

It didn't save the Hebrews.

You're going to be rewarded - for better or worse - based on your behavior.

Fruitfulness and faithfulness!

That's what we're learning from the Book of Revelation - lukewarm "believers" are in the same boat as the rest of the world when it comes to judgment.

Don't believe me?

Read the Book.

The End of the "Church" As We Know It...
Elaine

Most people think of the Book of Revelation as "the end of the world as we know it."

But that's only partially correct.

As I was praying this morning I realized that it's also...

"The End of the 'CHURCH' As We Know It!"

That's because the first three chapters of the Book of Revelation deals with God's judgment on the saints - not the sinners!

"Church as we know it" is currently a mixture of wheat and weeds... sheep and goats... faithful and unfaithful... fruitful and unfruitful...

Organization vs. Organism.

Religion vs. Relationship.

And it's been that way for the last 2000 years.

We wink at it and compromise with it and want to be peaceful and loving and accepting and non-judgmental.

Then JESUS HIMSELF is revealed in the midst of all this mixture, and begins to separate sheep from goats.

He warns us to repent, go back to our first love, be fruitful and be faithful.

The ones who Overcome get the reward.

The ones who don't - the hypocrites, the religious, the fair-weather fake "believers" - suffer tremendous loss.

The point is that not all who say "Lord, Lord" will enter the Kingdom or live in New Jerusalem or eat of the Tree of Life or miss the white throne judgment or avoid the lake of fire.

Finally - at last - the Lord reveals which ones belong to Him and which ones are faking it, hoping to make it.

His message is: "There is still time, if you repent - but if you don't, you have been warned."

Obviously this is not the same Jesus being preached about in the Institutional Church.

The Book of Revelation is concerned with Christ AS HE IS and not how we imagine Him to be.

And when He is finally revealed, it will be the end of "Church" as we know it.

Thank God!

The Lord of the Work
by Chip Brogden
There is a pressing need in the Body of Christ to distinguish and discern the difference between the Lord of the Work and the work of the Lord.

How easy it is to confuse these two things and treat them as one and the same. Yet the difference before God is quite vast.

This difference was revealed to me several years ago. I was conducting some meetings in Texas and attended a ministerial luncheon consisting of local pastors. My presence as a visitor was acknowledged and I was invited to stand and “share a few words.” What would I say to these pastors?

The Lord had already prepared my heart with a special word just for them. I said...

I also received a few emails trying to teach / correct / scold ME before they've even heard the message :-)

Just remember Proverbs 18:13: "To respond to a matter before you hear about it shows foolishness and brings shame."

I say things intentionally to draw out and purge the religious spirits who for some reason are still hanging around.

The foolish will never understand, and thankfully, they are not my responsibility.

But if you love God, love His Word, have an open heart and a teachable spirit, then you are welcome :-)

The online class is TONIGHT:

THE BOOK OF REVELATION: CHAPTER 2
Thursday, July 5, 2017 - 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time (New York)

Go here to register and/or get on the replay list:
--> http://chipbrogden.com/live

Yes, you do have to register each week if you want to attend and/or get the replay. Otherwise all our connections would fill up with people who registered once and forgot all about it (or became offended and quit).

Very important message tonight - hope you can be there, but if not, register and look for the replay.

May Christ be increase as we are decreased!

 Chip Brogden
PROOF:
Carnal Christians Won't Make It to Heaven!

Does that statement shock you? Surprise you? Or just confirm what you already know to be true?

Well, do you believe the Bible?

Everyone doesn't.

I do.

And for years I've been harping about "Relationship, Not Religion."

Still, some can't tell the difference.

Well, the next two chapters of the Book of Revelation (2 and 3) will make it very clear to you.

Knowing the difference between RELATIONSHIP and RELIGION is the difference between life and death in these Last Days.

And yet, no one is talking about it!

They just lightly breeze over these two chapters and ignore all the warnings - I guess because they are so anxious to get on with the exciting chapters where all the sinners get judged.

They automatically assume that all believers are "raptured" and then go to the New Jerusalem and live happily ever after.

"They do err" because they don't know the Scriptures - especially Revelation chapters 2 and 3.

The results of my own study have been shocking and eye-opening.

Only faithful, fruitful believers will be rewarded!

Careless, carnal Christians are going to be in for a rude awakening when they find themselves on the outside, looking in.

Find that hard to believe?

By the time you get finished with these two chapters it will be crystal clear.

Join me for this week's online class as we dig into Chapter 2 and get the true story.

What is the Testimony of Jesus?
by Chip Brogden
The very essence of the prophetic word revolves around the Testimony of Jesus.

The grand finale of Scripture records a great battle between the Overcomers and the Spirit of Antichrist concerning the Testimony of Jesus.

What is the Testimony of Jesus? Why does the prophetic word revolve around this Testimony? Why does this Testimony attract so much rage, spiritual conflict and opposition? And what does it mean to have or to bear this Testimony?

Hey Elaine,

For the last three weeks we've been "getting ready" to go on a chapter-by-chapter study of the Book of Revelation.

Seeing the destination in mind...

Packing our bags...

Getting our map...

All introductory, and all very important. :-)

But now, with a good foundation under us, I believe we are ready to begin our journey.

It's going to be fun and encouraging, but...

It will also be a wake-up call for some people.

(It was for me!)

The Purpose of All Ministry
by Chip Brogden
If we wish to evaluate someone who claims to be an apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor or teacher, we can apply this simple test: Is this person centered on Jesus Christ?

And when they do whatever it is that they do (preach, teach, prophesy, sing, plant churches, etc.), does it bring people into a deeper, more experiential knowing of Him?

some may think that kind of test is too severe. Why, if we applied this criteria to every minister and ministry in the world (they say) then we would probably disqualify a majority of workers and works that are doing the Church and mankind a great service.

Yes, we probably would. Yet in terms of value to the Kingdom of God, if the work is not Christ-centered and does nothing to bring people into a mature relationship with Him then it has no value to God and is worthless in His sight. If we are not preaching Christ then we are preaching something or someone else; and if we are not bringing people into the depths of Jesus with our life and work then we are either leaving them as they are or leaving them worse than when we found them. We become a distraction and a hindrance to the spiritual growth of others...

Hey Elaine,

In our teaching series though the Book of Revelation I've mentioned how people get confused when they study this book.

I think a lot of it has to do with how the book is usually taught.

A lot of teachers will jump right into the chapter-by-chapter study without much of an introduction or context.

I used to do that, too.

But now I think that approach only adds to the confusion - it's like dropping people off in a strange country at night with no map and expecting them to find their way home.

A MAP helps you figure out where you came from, where you are, and where you're going.

And you really need a MAP for navigating the twists and turns of the Book of Revelation.

So that's what we will cover in this week's class:

SURVEYING THE BOOK OF REVELATION
Thursday, June 22, 2017 - 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time (New York)

Hope to "see" you Thursday!

A Place for the Lord
by Chip Brogden
“Foxes have their dens, and birds have their nests;
but the Son of Man has no where to lay His head."
-Matthew 8:20

How may we prepare a place for the Lord Jesus? What is He searching for? Where is the place of His rest?

Many of us have traveled “outside the camp” in search of something more in tune with God’s own heart. I believe the most important calling we have is to prepare a place for the Lord Jesus, to give Him somewhere to lay His head. We will find that the purest, simplest expression of the Church is that which satisfies the Lord’s heart and gives Him a place....

Re: Chip Brogden CHURCH WITHOUT WALLS

Hey Elaine,

What if you were listening to someone speaking in an unknown language?

And what if 5 different people claimed to have the interpretation of that language, and none of them agreed with the other?

Would you be confused?

Would you wonder what the real message is?

Would you wonder why the 5 interpretations are so different?

I would!

Did you know there are at least 5 DIFFERENT WAYS to interpret the Book of Revelation?

No wonder everyone has a different opinion about what it means!

Last week we had a great kickoff to our series on the Book of Revelation...

But before we can dig into the chapter-by-chapter study...

We need to consider each of this 5 methods of interpretation.

- 1 is very, very popular;

- 1 used to be very popular but isn't anymore;

- 1 is trying to make a comeback;

- 1 is pretty rare;

- 1 is probably the closest to the truth but is rarely taught.

All 5 can't be correct, can they?

This Thursday @ 7:00 p.m. Eastern I'm going to share all 5 methods of interpretation with you and discuss the pros and cons of each.

Clear, simple, truth - and then you can judge for yourself which approach is best.

It's going to be fun!
