Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

Importance highlighted

Galatians 6:11 Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with
mine own hand.

Most people when they read this verse think Paul is referring to the
length of the letter he has written with his own hands and thus conclude
that the other letters which are lengthier were narrated by Paul and
written by someone else.

If we look at the Greek text the word ‘gramma’ translated as letter is
not singular but in plural. So it is not letter but letters and thus
does not speak of the length but at the size of the alphabets.

In Greek the concept of bold, italics or underline does not exist like
it does in the English text and this is the same with the Hebrew text.
In Hebrew the writers used the word ‘Selah’ at the end of the sentence
to state the importance of it.

Paul to show the importance of the subject he was writing on used large
letters to do the same. We see the topic was about ‘doing good deeds’,
and doing good deeds not in the flesh but in the spirit.

Yesterday I was ministering to an unbeliever who was in problems and was
very depressed and troubled financially. He spoke to me hoping I would
help him financially but as the Lord led me I ministered to him. He was
not at the stage that I needed to intervene in the natural. I have had
Believers asking financial help to pay fees for their children who study
in international schools while I myself put my own daughter in a lesser
costlier school. Some ask for help pay for insurances, some to buy new
electronic gadgets, etc...

Let us understand as Christian Ministers we should help the needy in the
natural but also understand our limitation in doing so. Let us remember
our purpose is not social but spiritual. Even if all Christians gather
together and fund the poor we will not be able to eradicate poverty from
the face of the earth forever. Many are poor not because they do not
have but because they have other problems and prime among them are lazy,
lacking endurance or direction.

We as Christian missionaries should concentrate of upliftment of people,
more spiritually than naturally. We should enable them to be
self-sufficient and not hungry mouths forever. We can feed them for a
few days but then if we do not teach them on how to feed themselves,
then we are harming them more than helping them.

In Acts we read the Apostles did help on a daily basis but specifically
to widows since society considered them cursed and were not allowed to
earn their income. This also the Apostles did not do for themselves but
had those growing spiritually to do so; they knew their priority was in
spiritual works more than natural works. Jesus also did not feed the
hungry daily but did so only when He felt is a need. At times He did not
use money to feed but used the power of God to do so.

Many growing in the Lord also look at tithing as feeding the hungry.
They think the Church or Pastor has enough so why to give? They do not
understand the purpose they give is spiritual more than natural and it
is more for themselves and not for the Pastor or for the Ministry.

Let us not sow in the flesh but sow in the spirit. Let the people see
the Hand of God in our work and not see our hands, but when the need
arrives let us not hesitate to give what we have.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God Almighty, there is nothing impossible for You yet You
Lord do not intervene directly to solve all problems but get us to be
vessels to do the job. You allow things for a period so that we learn to
know our priorities and purpose of life. We pray Lord we be filled with
wisdom and be instruments for your glory more than to glorify ourselves...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Galatians 6:7-11
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that
shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption;
but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall
reap, if we faint not.
10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men,
especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
11 Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand.

Acts 6:1-3
1 Now in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying,
there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the Hellenists, because
their widows were neglected in the daily distribution.
2 Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, "It
is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables.
3 "Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good
reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over
this business;

Mark 6:36-38
36 "Send them away, that they may go into the surrounding country and
villages and buy themselves bread; for they have nothing to eat."
37 But He answered and said to them, "You give them something to eat."
And they said to Him, "Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of
bread and give them something to eat?"
38 But He said to them, "How many loaves do you have? Go and see." And
when they found out they said, "Five, and two fish."

Luke 22:35 And He said to them, "When I sent you without money bag,
knapsack, and sandals, did you lack anything?" So they said, "Nothing."

Joy of gaining the lost

Luke 15:6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and
neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep
which was lost.

We read in today's message the joy of the one who brings in a lost back
into the flock. The next verse (Luke 15:7) gives a comparison of this
joy and states it is greater than the joy of 99 righteous who are in the
flock.

As I was scrutinizing the Greek text of verse 7 I found the word
translated as 'need' is the word Greek word 'echo'. This word is 613
times translated as 'have' but in this verse surprisingly is translated
as 'need'. The Greek word for need is 'chreia' which occurs 25 times and
example of its use is Matthew 6:32. So the verse speaks of a lost who
repents and comes back to the Body of Christ (Church) is better than the
99 'righteous' ones in the Church who have no repentance in their hearts.

It is repentance that keeps a person in the body of Christ. Repentance
is not an initial criterion to enter the Kingdom of God, in fact
repentance along with faith, are both required to keep a person in
Christ. If we lose faith we can no longer claim salvation in Christ so
also if we do not have repentance in us, we can stake claim as being
part of the inheritors of His Kingdom.

Repentance is not being sorry but means redirecting ourselves to do the
right. It is about correction more than acknowledging the wrong. We as
babies in Christ keep growing in Christ, and as we grow in knowing the
truth we also know the wrongs in our lives and areas that need
correction. So growing in Christ is not only of receiving of His Kingdom
but also is about tuning ourselves more and more to be like Him. It is
about losing the old nature and gaining His nature in us. So any one not
in the state of repentance is declaring they are better than or as good
as God thus do not need change.

Let us be always in the state of repentance and not be like the
righteous ones the flock who do not count much. They are the goats who
on Judgment Day will be separated from the sheep and will be punished
for rejecting the Will of the Father (Word of God).

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Righteous and Holy God, You alone are perfect in every
sense and there is none like You. We pray God we understand seeking You
means seeking your Nature, lifting your Name means lifting your Nature.
You God dwell in us when we seek You (your Nature) in us. God let us be
always seeking You and thus always we are at a state of correction, of
repentance...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Luke 15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one
sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons,
which need no repentance.

Matthew 6:32 "For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your
heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

Mathew 3:1,2
1 In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea,
2 and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!"

Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, "Repent,
for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

Mark 1:15 and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is
at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel."

Matthew 11:20 Then He began to rebuke the cities in which most of His
mighty works had been done, because they did not repent:

Revelation 3:3 "Remember therefore how you have received and heard;
hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon
you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.

Hearing the Voice of God

Acts 22:14 And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that
thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear
the voice of his mouth.

During the time of Jesus people heard the voice of Jesus but today can
we hear Him.

Just a couple of days back a brother was asking me 'does God talk
vocally?' His question was not much towards if God is able to talk
vocally to us but as to when He does, in what tone or voice do we hear Him?

Those who have heard the Lord talk to them vocally (person to person)
will tell that the earth did not rattle nor did the voice pierce the
eardrums such as to hurt the person to whom the Lord spoke. At times the
person did not know the Lord was speaking for it was like another human
speaking, like in the case of Samuel; he thought it was his mentor Eli
who was calling out to him when the Lord called out to him.

Humans have different voice individually; their voice is considered a
signature of that person. If one studies Acoustic analysis (modulation
spectrum analysis) or neuro-acoustics or any other scientific approach
to study voice one will find ultimately each voice has values and when
someone tries to match those values it is simply mimicry. A good
mimicry artist is the one who modulates his or her voice and comes
closest to the values of the voice he or she is trying to imitate.

People think God has a signature human kind voice like we do; God is not
man and does not need vocal, audio communication to communicate with us.
He can speak to us directly where we hear but the people around us do
not or others may hear someone speaking to us but do not hear exactly
what the voice is speaking to us (like it happened to Paul) or hear
exactly what we hear (like it happened when Jesus was baptized).

God can talk to us in a crowd as He can do in private. He can peak in
the day or in the night. He may even speak to us in a familiar voice of
a person we know. He can speak to us in many ways.

The question comes how do we know it is God speaking to us?

We can only know it is the voice is of the Lord by the words not by the
nature of the voice or its effects. Only when we know the Lord or know
His Word we recognize it is the Lord speaking to us and not that of any
other power.

When I heard the Lord speak to me it was while I was hearing music on an
mp3 player (those days mobiles were not what they are today). In between
I heard some words which struck me and which I had never heard before.
When I copied the contents of the mp3 player to a computer and went
through it again and again I did not find those words. Later (after a
few months) when I was going through the Bible I read those words which
were spoken to me across 2 scriptures (John 15:16, 19).

The Lord can speak to us any time and in various ways, the fact is are
we alert and tuned to hear Him.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God, You are Spirit. Flesh and bone is not
permanent as spirit is. Flesh turns to dust but spirit remains spirit.
Lord we pray we overcome the bonds of the flesh. Let not our thinking be
limited by the flesh but be abundant as the spirit is...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
1 Samuel 3:4-11
4 that the LORD called Samuel. And he answered, "Here I am!"
5 So he ran to Eli and said, "Here I am, for you called me." And he
said, "I did not call; lie down again." And he went and lay down.
6 Then the LORD called yet again, "Samuel!" So Samuel arose and went to
Eli, and said, "Here I am, for you called me." He answered, "I did not
call, my son; lie down again."
7 (Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, nor was the word of the LORD
yet revealed to him.)
8 And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. Then he arose and
went to Eli, and said, "Here I am, for you did call me." Then Eli
perceived that the LORD had called the boy.
9 Therefore Eli said to Samuel, "Go, lie down; and it shall be, if He
calls you, that you must say, 'Speak, LORD, for Your servant hears.'" So
Samuel went and lay down in his place.
10 Now the LORD came and stood and called as at other times, "Samuel!
Samuel!" And Samuel answered, "Speak, for Your servant hears."
11 Then the LORD said to Samuel: "Behold, I will do something in Israel
at which both ears of everyone who hears it will tingle.

Acts 9:4-7
4 Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul,
Saul, why are you persecuting Me?"
5 And he said, "Who are You, Lord?" Then the Lord said, "I am Jesus,
whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads."
6 So he, trembling and astonished, said, "Lord, what do You want me to
do?" Then the Lord said to him, "Arise and go into the city, and you
will be told what you must do."
7 And the men who journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice
but seeing no one.

Matthew 3:17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, "This is My
beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

John 15:16 "You did not choose Me, but I chose you”

John 15:19 "I chose you out of the world”.

Helping at the cost of pay a high price

Luke 18:40 And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him:
and when he was come near, he asked him,

We all who are humane do reach out and help people in need whenever it
is possible and convenient for us. But there are few who go out of the
way to help someone even at the risk of losing something sometimes as
precious as their own lives.

You may wonder why I am talking of this and what relation it has with
regards to today's scriptures.

The person whom Jesus healed named 'Bartimaeus' was no ordinary person.
He was not a Jew but a Roman. The name states him to be Son of Timeus.
According to what a historian put this person Timeus was a very senior
official in the Roman army in Jericho. His son was a revolutionary and
had revolted against the Roman Empire. The Romans were known to be
merciless, but in this case Bartimaeus being a son of a high ranking
person, his life was spared but only after he was made blind and made to
beg for his living within the two city walls of Jericho (the city was a
like a fortress, 2/3 protected by mountains and on one side had two
walls within which famous temples for various gods existed; God had
destroyed them when He bought the walls down, later they were rebuild).

Jesus was hated by the Jewish religious leaders for He questioned and
challenged their authority. He was loved and respected by the Romans for
it suited the Romans to keep the Jewish leaders in check. The Jews could
not lay their hands on Jesus' life for fear of the Romans.

Jesus knew by healing Bartimaeus He would be challenging the authority
of the Romans and lose their favor yet we see Jesus went ahead and
healed him. One may say Jesus triggered the events leading to His
crucifixion by doing this.

Like Bartimaeus' relation with the Romans was the man with a withered
hand's relationship with the Jews. That man was also punished but by the
Jewish high authorities and Jesus by healing him challenged them and
triggered the call for His crucifixion. Healing Bartimaeus was the
second step which Jesus did and did not fear to take. The last step was
the bringing to life a dead embalmed Lazarus, a miracle so great not
really understood even today (not just because he was four days dead but
because of the rituals done on him). This miracle was unlike any dead
bought to life by Jesus; this caused all the Jews in Jerusalem to become
like a mob against both the Jewish and Roman authorities.

Let us ask ourselves if we know that by helping someone we will get
ourselves in great trouble if not physically harmed or killed, would we
still take the step to help that person?

To be like Jesus requires us to be people strongly rooted in the Kingdom
of God. It is only when the Truth is full in us we will be able to have
courage like Jesus.

[Prayer Starter]
Father God You alone are God and there is none other than You. Lord, You
are Truth and those who abide in the Truth abide in You. Lord we pray we
be more and more rooted in the Truth so that we are unshaken by dangers
of this world. We understand that You are Alive and nothing is without
You. In all things You will be glorified...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Matthew 12:8-14 (man with the withered hand)

John 11:43-48, 53 (effect of Lazarus' miracle)
53 Then, from that day on, they plotted to put Him to death.

John 12:9-10, 17-18
9 Now a great many of the Jews knew that He was there; and they came,
not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might also see Lazarus, whom He
had raised from the dead.
10 But the chief priests plotted to put Lazarus to death also,
17 Therefore the people, who were with Him when He called Lazarus out
of his tomb and raised him from the dead, bore witness.
18 For this reason the people also met Him, because they heard that He
had done this sign.
19 The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, "You see that you are
accomplishing nothing. Look, the world has gone after Him!"

Making a public statement

Acts 16:37 But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned,
being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out
privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.

In today’s message when the magistrate came to know that Paul had a Roman
citizenship he was very afraid and wanted to quietly set off Paul and his
colleagues whom he had got arrested without due process and cause.

Here we read of Paul initially wanted to get the magistrate to publically
acknowledge his mistake thus refused to leave the prison but later on his
plea, he and his team left.

Today the word terrorism is very common. People think the word means
violence but that is not the case. Terrorizing can be done without actual
acts of violence but by just intimidation of threat of violence, threat of
social excommunication, threat of depriving a person of livelihood etc...
Any act by a human that induces fear of any kind is called terrorism.

Jesus said do not fear time and again. We read in the Bible the words ‘Do
not fear’ is spoken mostly by the Lord or a Man of God on behalf of the
Lord and it is more towards not fearing an event, or power, or person.

The Hebrew word yir’ah for fear is also translated as terror and it comes
from the root word yare’ which means ‘to revere’ / ‘give reverence’.

People do not understand when they fear a person or power they are actually
making that person or power a god, a king or master over them. Even when a
person hate someone so much as to keep on meditating on that person they
land up making a person a god or king or master over us.

We can make any object, person or power a god or king or master when we
serve them. Fear and deep hatred are some of the factors that drive us to
serve them. We are called to fear God and Him alone; we can give respect or
be cautious of things or persons or powers in this world but are not called
to fear them.

In Greek the word fear is also regarded as fleeing. Paul says flee from
fornication, from idolatry and from pursuing worldly prosperity for these
have caused many to err, face the wrath of God.

Directly or indirectly we are called to fear God and the consequences of
God but otherwise let us be cautious of the things or powers of the world.
Let not worldly terrorism or intimidations affect us, let us face them with
boldness knowing our God is Lord of lords and Kings of kings and every knee
will bow before Him.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God Almighty and Lord over all. There is not power or being
that stand against You. You Lord allow man and powers that work in man to
blasphemy You so that on time appointed they are made to pay their price
and made an example for eternity. Lord we pray we overcome fear of this
world and the powers of this world and only fear You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Isaiah 51:7 "Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, You people in whose
heart is My law: Do not fear the reproach of men, Nor be afraid of their
insults.

Matthew 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to
his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you
to flee from the wrath to come?

1 Corinthians 6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without
the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

1 Corinthians 10:14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

1 Timothy 6:9-10
9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into
many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and
perdition.
10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted
after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with
many sorrows [errered].

Hebrews 13:6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will
not fear what man shall do unto me.

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

Post  Admin on Mon 17 Jul 2017, 1:52 pm

Where is our zeal?

John 2:13-17
13 And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,
14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves,
and the changers of money sitting:
15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out
of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers'
money, and overthrew the tables;
16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make
not my Father's house an house of merchandise.
17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine
house hath eaten me up.

When we read about the incident of Jesus driving away the traders from
the Synagogue in Jerusalem we think it happened just once. But when we
read the chain of events leading to this incident, one will realize it
was not once that Jesus drove the traders away from the temple but
twice. Also people think Jesus was violent, no. If we read the
scriptures, Jesus turned their tables and set their animals free but did
not harm or hurt the persons doing it.

Today's message from the Gospel of John records the first time Jesus
drove the traders away from the temple. And Mathew recorded the second
time Jesus drove the traders away, that is after He received a grand
welcome into Jerusalem (even the incident of driving away a legion of
spirits happened not once but twice, that is why in one Gospel it is
written from one person and in another as two).

In today's message, it is written the disciples remembered the verse of
Psalms 69 which speaks of the zeal of Christ. If we look at the whole
Psalm it is all about Christ, including the way they would treat Him
before His death but all this His disciples did not relate to Him. This
incident by the way happened after His water baptism and after His forty
days of fasting in the wilderness (getting qualified as a Rabbi
according to Moses). So both times He drove the traders out of the
temple was when His popularity was high and people's support was behind Him.

Jesus was not so concern of the place for He never gave importance to
the temple structure. He went there only to reach out to the people who
were gathered there. If He wanted to communicate / prayer He went to a
place He was comfortable like a garden or top of a hill/mountain. He was
driving the traders not from the structure but from amongst the people
gathered there for a purpose.

On Sundays we gather together amongst people for a purpose and that
purpose should solely be to reach out to God as a body. That means our
relationship with each other is very important than our attending a
service. It is only when we are one in heart, mind and understanding
that we will see the glory of God amongst us. We should not misuse this
moment to entertain ourselves in worldly ways, or for commercial
purposes, or for self-promotion. Our purpose should solely be to edify
each other, to grow together and be more united so as to let the glory
of the Lord magnify amongst us. For when this purpose is clear in us
then we too will have the zeal that Christ showed.

[Prayer Started]
Lord You are Holy God. You separate yourself from all that is not right.
Even though You are Holy yet You made a way to reach out to us who are
unholy so as the change us. Lord we thank You for your mercies and your
love. Help us to understand our purpose to become one body. Help us to
bring forth your Kingdom here on earth as it is in Heaven so that your
glory that is in Heaven may be experience here on earth. Fill us with
your zeal...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Psalms 69:9 For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the
reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.

Psalms 69:21 They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they
gave me vinegar to drink.

Matthew 21:9-13

Matthew 24:1-2
1 Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples
came up to show Him the buildings of the temple.
2 And Jesus said to them, "Do you not see all these things? Assuredly,
I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall
not be thrown down."

Matthew 26:55 In that hour Jesus said to the multitudes, "Have you come
out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to take Me? I sat daily
with you, teaching in the temple, and you did not seize Me.

Godly Jealously!

2 Corinthians 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I
have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste
virgin to Christ.

In the Bible there are terms which are largely misunderstood. To
understand them one needs to go to the Hebrew words and its root
meanings. For example Paul four times speaks of 'holy kiss' and we see
people kissing each other on the cheek. Some Men of God have fallen by
this kiss.

In Hebrew the word 'nashaq' for kiss comes from the word 'nasaq' which
means kindle, burn. This action speaks of sharing warmth between two
people. This could be done by a gentle hung or even by a touch, for the
word also means contact. Kissing with the mouth was specifically done to
objects and was an expression of giving reverence. The Hebrew word for
worship itself is literately translated as bowing or kissing the hand.
In Greek the word translated as kiss is 'phileo' which comes from the
word 'philos' which means friend / friendly so the word refers to
friendly greeting a person and does not specifically speak of the lips
touching the cheeks of the other person which may have and may not have
happened, but as per OT it requires simply a contact to happen.

One of the ways the Israelites greeted each other (as commanded by the
Lord) was to salute each other with a blessing. They would say 'Shalom
ALiechem' / 'ALiechem Shalom' meaning 'Peace of the Lord be upon you'
which was later shortened to just 'Shalom'.

In today's message the word jealously is also another term very
misunderstood. In English we could correctly translate as zealous and
not jealous. As Jewish tradition goes the Hebrew word speaks of the
possessiveness of a mother to her child. When God said I am a Jealous
God and His name is Jealous, it meant He is a very possessive of His
children and He is our Father as well as our Mother.

In today's message Paul as a spiritual father to the Believers of the
Church of Corinth speaks of his possessiveness in a godly way meaning a
building and edifying possessiveness that keeps them from being defiled
by other gods or vices.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are our Father and our Mother and our Lord. In Heaven there is
none over us than You, for all are brethren and You over all. We pray
your people are not misled with carnal affections or worldly sentiments
that they fall and be victims of vanity...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Romans 16:16 Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of
Christ salute you.

1 Corinthians 16:20 All the brethren greet you. Greet ye one another
with an holy kiss.

2 Corinthians 13:12 Greet one another with an holy kiss.

1 Thessalonians 5:26 Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.

Song of Solomon 1:2 THE SHULAMITE Let him kiss me with the kisses of
his mouth—For your love is better than wine.

1 Kings 19:18 "Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose
knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him."

Job 31:27 So that my heart has been secretly enticed, And my mouth has
kissed my hand;

Exodus 34:14 '(for you shall worship no other god, for the LORD, whose
name is Jealous, is a jealous God),

Spiritual Zombies

Matthew 17:17 Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse
generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you?
bring him hither to me.

We all have heard of zombies in movies as humans who are dead but yet
animate. They are projected as creatures whose senses are directed only
to consume another live and make others like themselves. In one movie
named 'World War Z' they attacked only humans who were healthy.

In today's message we read of Jesus detesting people who are faithless
(unbelieving) and perverse (distorting) people. He questions as to how
long He should be with them and hold them up. Do you think Jesus was
talking to only those who were there before Him? Or was He talking of
the few years He was in the flesh as man?

Bible says He humbled Himself before the world was created and became
our sacrifice from its foundation. It also says He awaits the time He
will be united with the Father after finishing the task He has taken.

The Gospel of John is not exaggerating when it states all wood in this
world if converted to paper will not hold all the things that the Lord
Jesus Christ has done. This statement is not only referring to that time
but valid even today. In fact today we can state it as all the computer
hard-disks, memory drives and tape drives in the world cannot hold all
that the Lord Jesus Christ has done.

It is only when we really know the Lord Jesus Christ that we understand
this statement.

People without faith and not following the truth are like spiritual
zombie. They are dead inside yet exist and animate. They have one agenda
that is to consume others by make them like themselves. Let us not be
spiritual zombie seeking just to satisfy our desire for carnal pleasures.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are awesome God. Even though You knew of the evil in creation
yet You let it come into existence for You knew your goodness will
overcome it. When we look at the Crucifix we cry at your suffering
without knowing all that You suffered for us since the foundation of
this world. Lord we pray we quicken the coming of your Kingdom and we
also pray we do not suffer You more...

This prayer we make in your Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 17: 5 And now, Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with
the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

John 21: 25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the
which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the
world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

Matthew 13:35 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the
prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things
hidden from the foundation of the world.

Matthew 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand,
Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from
the foundation of the world:

John 17:24 Father, I desire that they also whom thou hast given me be
with me where I am, that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given
me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

Hebrews 4:3 For we who have believed do enter into that rest; even as
he hath said, As I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest:
although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell on the earth shall worship him,
every one whose name hath not been written from the foundation of the
world in the book of life of the Lamb that hath been slain.

Cephas and the napkin

John 20:7 And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the
linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.

Not only Catholics even some Believers are made to believer Catholic
Church originally existed and then the Believer Church protested and
come out of it. Yesterday I was visiting a Believer family and one of
its members was deceived to believe this. All know the Church in Rome
only come into existence after 300AD, after the Roman Emperor
Constantine accepted Christianity. One of their key reasons to believe
the continuity of the Catholic Church from the times of Apostles was
that Peter was the first Pope (a term used for the Bishop of Rome).

Let us get some facts of Peter down:-
Peter was never called 'Peter' by Jesus. Peter is a Greek word. Jesus
spoke in Hebrew and Aramaic in the temple and to the public
respectively. Jesus nicknamed him Cephas which means little stone (John
1:42). The word for rock in Aramaic is Su'as. It is in the Greek
language that the confusion between stone (Petros) and rock (Petra)
exist, since they are near sounding.

The nickname Cephas / Peter was not a good name but pointed to the
irresponsible behavior of Simon to speak out even though he did not have
knowledge on the matter. That is why we read Jesus used it only when He
wanted to rebuke Simon the son of Jonas. The term little stone /little
rock means little truths, the same is also used for Satan in the Old
testament which in Hebrew is Tyrus. Satan is called the king of Tyrus
(Ezekiel 28) for he does not speak the complete truth nor fully lies; he
is the father of lies.

Among the Apostles there was another Simon who was nicknamed Zelotes
because of his zeal. This Simon was not as foolish or irresponsible as
Simon Cephas / Peter.

Simon son of Jonas was selected along with John and James to lead the
Jewish Christian section of the Church. The Lord had later bought Paul
and Barnabas to lead the Gentile section of the Church. Simon Peter was
the leader of the Jewish Christian section and we see in today's message
he had the privilege to pick up the napkin which was lying on the floor
in the tomb. This was an fulfillment of a custom as per the Law of Moses
where the person taking over from the High Priest would enter the
Holiest Place and pick up the garments which the High Priest leaves behind.

Simon the son of Jonas was not evil nor was Mary but God knew that Peter
along with Mary would be misused by people whose hearts were not for God
but yet they will say Lord, Lord. It is to expose these people that the
Lord allowed these characters to be misunderstood.

In the Bible Simon Peter in never recorded to visit Rome so how could he
be the Bishop of Rome /Pope. Secondly the belief of the Catholic Church
(Catholicism) is contrary to the Christian faith as recorded in the
Bible. Some of the points I note below:-

Bible says Jesus is the only way to Heaven and there is no other way
except Him. But Catholic Church - Catholicism section 839-841 states
other than those who accept the Gospel even Jews, and Muslims would
enter Heaven by their good works. If they do not accept Christ who is
the Way then how is it that they get to enter Heaven? So either the
Jesus in the Bible is deceiving us or the Catholic Church is.

Bible states by good works (works of righteousness) no man is justified
to enter Heaven since the righteousness of man is like rags before God.
Bible says it is by grace received through faith alone we get qualified
to enter Heaven and it is the works of faith which the Spirit of God
works through us that confirms our entry to Heaven.

Bible states Jesus as man did not remain to lead His disciples even
after His resurrection. He knew His limitation as man so He left as to
give us His Spirit and it is His Spirit that does the actual work of
building us in Him to make us Sons of God and able to enter Heaven.
Jesus is the Way and His Spirit leads us and helps us along the Way.
What the Catholic Church has done is replaced the Holy Spirit's role
with this woman they call 'Virgin Mary', 'Mother Mary', 'Mother of God',
'Queen of Heaven'. This spirit that comes as her has nothing to do with
the Mary of the Bible. Every word that is spoken by her apparitions is
contrary to the Word of God. This spirit did the same to the Jews before
God punished them by the hands of the Babylonians (Jeremiah 7, 44).

It is better to believe the Word of God than to belief words of man even
if they claim to be of God.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are True and your Word is true so nor You or your Word changes.
Lord we pray those who have the seed of faith but are deceived by the
Catholic Church may open their eyes and see the truth. Give them the
courage to come out of her and not receive the punishment set for her...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 1:42 And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he
said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which
is by interpretation, A stone.

Galatians 2:9 And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be
pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and
Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the
heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

1 Corinthians 9:5 Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as
well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?

Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter [Petros /
Cephas], and upon this rock [Petras/Su'as - referring to the truth that
Peter spoke] I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not
prevail against it.

Matthew 16:23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me,
Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things
that be of God, but those that be of men.

Galatians 2:11 But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to
the face, because he was to be blamed.

Leviticus 16:23,32
23 And Aaron shall come into the tabernacle of the congregation, and
shall put off the linen garments, which he put on when he went into the
holy place, and shall leave them there:
32 And the priest, whom he shall anoint, and whom he shall consecrate
to minister in the priest's office in his father's stead, shall make the
atonement, and shall put on the linen clothes, even the holy garments:

Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out
of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye
receive not of her plagues.

Luke 2:34-35
34 And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this
child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a
sign which shall be spoken against;
35 (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the
thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

Exalting oneself before God

Luke 18:14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather
than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and
he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

When we read the parable connected with today’s message we will detest
the Pharisee who not only put down the publican but also boasted about
himself before the Lord. Do we realize we too do this often today?

There used to be a time when I would fast weekly without fail. It was
not a token fast by skipping a meal or having just tea/juice/soaps etc.
but would not even have water. This I would do without fail every week
without much people knowing of it. In the start I saw great benefits but
as I matured more and more in spirit I started to question the benefit
of this fasting.

We as Christians do not believe in penance for we live in times of
grace. The Jews did follow penance, as so do other religions but not
Christians. So fasting does not please God in any way. It has just two
reasons, one is to build faith and other is to control the carnal
nature. So if I have faith issues then fasting for me is good since
while fasting I need to meditate on the promises of God. The other
reason is if I have problems with obesity or controlling my eating
desires then fasting (restraining from food) is also good for me. But if
I am a person strong in faith and do not have problem with food then
fasting (refraining from food) becomes a religious activity more than a
spiritual one.

I am not recommending one should stop fasting if one is strong in faith.
Fasting is not just refraining from food. There are different types of
fasting that one can do like refraining from things that one is addicted
too this may be simple things like talking too much, socializing too
much, concern a lot of ones’ beauty all the time, television or music
issues, etc. such a fast is referred as a Daniel’s fast since Daniel ate
and yet fasted and shook the Heavens. Daniel was chief among all
ministers in the palace of the emperor of Babylon. Babylon was the
greatest kingdom in the world at that time. This kingdom influenced a
great part of the world and every meal was more than a wedding banquet
today since many kings who lost and surrendered were guest along with
their families and best subjects in the palace. So just think the length
and breadth of the tables, and the varieties of food that was prepared
at every meal. Daniel and his people realized this rich food was not
good for their spiritual wellbeing so started eating just simple bread.
It was this fast that took them to great levels spiritually.

When we fast we may not put others down openly but when we talk of it
before people often, then we do. By fasting in areas that are not our
problem areas, then we are just fooling ourselves and fooling God. We
become like the Pharisee in the parable boasting about ourselves before God.

Let us stop doing the Pharisee fast and do a fast which builds us and
helps us grow spiritually. Let us remember fasting does not please God
but helps us grow and our growing pleases God. So whatever we do should
help us grow.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are God who sees all things and knows all things. We pray Lord
that we do not try to deceive You and ourselves with our hollow fasts.
Lord we pray we understand the purpose of a fast. May we not be like the
Pharisee who boasted about his fast before You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Luke 18:10-14

Matthew 6:16-19

Daniel 1:8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile
himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he
drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might
not defile himself.

Daniel 10:2-5
2 In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three whole weeks.
3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine into my mouth,
neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
4 And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the
side of the great river, which is Hiddekel,
5 I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, a man clothed in
linen, whose loins were girded with pure gold of Uphaz:

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

Post  Admin on Wed 05 Jul 2017, 9:38 pm

As per one's convenience

Luke 22:66 And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the
chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their
council, saying,

In today's message we find when the Jewish priest got Jesus arrested on
charges of blasphemy they organized 'their council' the next day. They
made sure it was only their supporting people who were in the council
and the others they made sure were not there. So we see as per their
convenience they did for they wanted for the results they desired.

Most Christians fall into the trap of the Catholic Church of
misinterpreting scriptures to their convenience. They say since the
scriptures record Jesus being arrested and of the Jewish priests taking
Him to a council the next day, hence He was crucified the next day.
Since it says next day was a (high) Sabbath so He was crucified on a
Friday. They reverse engineer the events without putting all facts into
place.

If we take their logic then in Luke 2:7 it is written while Mary and
Joseph were waiting for a room in an inn, she gave birth to the child
Jesus, whom Joseph warped in a cloth and put in a manger kept outside
the inn to feed the donkeys tied outside the inn. Here they moved the
manger into a stable and add other animals to the situation. They first
designed a crib and then put the crib into the scriptures. So now even
though people read scriptures yet they understand what they are
programed by the Catholic Church.

If Jesus did not fulfil the statutes needed to be the Paschal Lamb then
His sacrifice fails to do what it was set to do. One of the requirements
of being the Paschal Lamb was to be kept under observation for 5 days.
So Jesus after celebrating the Feast of Unleavened Bread which started
on a Sabbath (Saturday) was arrested on that evening. Taking 5 days into
consideration where He was taken from place to place and tortured by
both Jews and Romans (Jews could not do much harm since they were under
the rule of the Romans), Jesus was crucified on Thursday evening and
resurrected on the third day which was Sunday noon. Friday was the
Paschal Feast and a special holiday so is written as High Sabbath in the
Gospel of John.

We find theologian blindly accept the Catholic understanding and
consider Jesus was arrested on Thursday and crucified on Friday and then
to place the 3 days to Sunday they play with words. They state the Jews
celebrated the Sabbath from the evening of previous day (Friday) unto
the evening of the Sabbath day (Saturday), thus their day started from
evening to evening and they try to quote Genesis 1:5 to support this.

Firstly the Jews never understood scriptures; if they did they would
have known God and known His Christ. The scripture in Genesis says
'evening to morning was the next day' and not evening to evening. They
try to accommodate the scripture and their misunderstanding into one.

Genesis 1:5 if properly understood the 'day' quoted there has nothing to
do with earthly days (earth was not formed then). Secondly the Jewish
day started with sunrise to sunset (approximate 6am to 6pm) and was
divided into watches of 3 hours each. Their days were of 12 hours and
not 24 hours as we take today. It was the Romans who first considered a
24 hour day. For the Jews day was day and night was night, nights
separated days. So 'third day' means third day and not after two nights
and one day. As per scripture says the deceit of the Beast is so great
that hardly there are people saved from it and this is visible for all
celebrate 'Good Friday'.

Like the evil Jewish Priests who played with Jesus as per their
convenience, let us not play with scriptures as per our convenience. Let
us not add nor subtract. The scriptures fulfil all conditions as per
stated by it, for it is God's Word and not human words.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Righteous God. You and your Word do not change. Lord we
pray we understand your Word as it is given unto us. We pray we do not
add or subtract from it so that we do not lose of our reward in Heaven.

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Luke 2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in
swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room
for them in the inn.

Exodus 16:23 And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath
said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that
which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that
which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.

Genesis 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called
Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Exodus 14:24 And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the LORD
looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of
the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians,

Matthew 14:25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto
them, walking on the sea.

Exodus 12:3-6
3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth
day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to
the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house
4 And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his
neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the
souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.
5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye
shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats
6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month:
and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in
the evening.

John 19:31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the
bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that
sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be
broken, and that they might be taken away.

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

Post  Admin on Tue 04 Jul 2017, 3:01 pm

Deal with your own problems first!

Luke 4:23 And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this
proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in
Capernaum, do also here in thy country.

When interacting with Christian leaders they will first try to find out
how is the situation in your family before giving you a platform in the
Church. Leaders want things to be very good in your household. If you
have brothers or sisters or parents living with you who are unbelievers
then they will take a step back from you, worse is if you have accepted
Christ after your marriage yet they would expect your spouse also to be
a Believer and if they find there is a problem in that area they will
flee from you irrespective of how anointed you are or how great God has
bless you to edify His Body.

In today's message we read of the people at the meeting coming to know
Jesus as son of Joseph. The English translation state as carpenter but
that is a creation of the Catholic Church. Scriptures plainly state his
profession as builder. He was into making houses as per Jewish Talmud.
He had many children by his marriage with Mary, 4 sons (may be more) and
at least 2 daughters. In Jewish tradition a couple are considered
married only when they have physical relationship that is why Mary and
Joseph were considered engaged until Jesus was born and marriage after
His birth when they had relationship.

Jesus' brothers and sisters did not believe in Jesus even though He did
great miracle. It was only after His death and resurrection we read His
2 brothers (James and Jude) became His followers. His other brothers of
which two are mentioned in scriptures (Joses and Simon) did not follow
Him or were not active in the Church. If Jesus was present today
probably many Pastors would have not allowed Him to preach in their
Churches. They would have told Him the same thing which was going in the
minds of the woman in today's scripture.

One can hold a Man / Woman of God responsible for his or her children
but not for wife/husband or siblings or parents. I have seen some give
up on Christ by compromising the truth just to convince their wives.
Adam fell because he loved his wife more than the Lord, even though he
knew the truth yet he listened to her.

Salvation is a personal matter, as parents we are responsible for
molding our children's spiritual lives. Husbands and wives are coworkers
or companions in the walk of life but cannot be held responsible for the
faith of the other. Surely they being one body they cannot settle at
letting a part of themselves being in darkness so need to do their best
to bring the other to light. Therefore Paul advised not to get married
to an unbeliever for that can destroy a person in Christ. Do not do the
foolishness of believing 'after marriage I will change him or her' it is
a trap of Satan. Medical or any other issue can be taken care of later
but not matters concerning faith. People think there are chances of a
person backsliding in one's faith after marriage so who can guarantee?
Let me tell you anyone who is baptized in Christ and in the Holy Spirit
will die but not backslide in one's faith [this is very, very, very
rare]. It is only those who believed in Christ and even baptized in Him
but not baptized in His Holy Spirit are the one who will backslide.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are Almighty and Holy God. You are All Knowing God. Before
darkness appeared You separated yourself but You did not let the
darkness continue forever. You put things into action and gave time for
light to come forth and overcome that darkness. Lord we pray people
understand the time that is taken for things to happen as per your plan.
We pray Lord they judge not by sight or by worldly understanding but
discern all things in Spirit...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Change your mindset and not the Kingdom of God

Galatians 4:9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known
of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto
ye desire again to be in bondage?

Yesterday’s message we saw people trying to understand God by a
concoction of pagan beliefs, human limitation and a pinch of Biblical
understanding. They make God to be like a man and limit Him even though
they declare Him Omnipotent, Almighty and Omnipresent.

I have heard people declare God as Omnipresent but still say there are
places where God is not there. When scripture says even in Hell one
cannot flee God yet they will say when man goes to Hell they think of
God in that way He is there! They say He is Omnipotent but then state,
there are things He cannot do. He is Almighty but then there are times
He needs help. They will say He is Holy yet will say He does not
separate Himself from evil. They say He is Light yet sat darkness exists
before Him. So many times I hear people say ‘God is Spirit and His
Spirit are two different beings’. I tell them to repeat and understand
what they are saying yet they will not realize.

The problem with man is that they lift man above God and man’s word
above God’s Word. What a famous preacher or writer says overwrites
everything in their minds and become like blinders to their sight. They
will read scriptures yet they will understand that which man has told them.

I am grateful in one way that God did not bring me up in a Believer
family upbringing but bought me out of a Catholic upbringing. The Lord
opened my eyes and showed me the level of deceit that is played on us so
much so that now I do not trust any man even if he brings dead people to
life or has a billion followers. I will discern every word that comes
out of his mouth with the Word of God.

Today’s message talks to us just about that. The people of the Church of
Galatia after coming to know the little of God were trying to fit God
into their prior pagan thinking and pagan understandings.

Let us get our basics in place and understand the Kingdom of God is not
of this world, it is not natural but purely spiritual, also when it
comes in glory all that exist will cease to exist. So let us not hold on
to our worldly thinking and worldly ways but let us be totally renewed.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are Almighty, Omnipotent and Omnipresent God. You are and You
alone are God. Lord we pray we understand what this world hold will keep
us away from You and your Kingdom. We pray we part from the things of
this world and depart from the thinking of this world. Help us to be
renewed in every way and every thought...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him
in spirit and in truth.

Romans 11:8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit
of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not
hear;) unto this day.

1 Corinthians 2:10-11
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit
searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man
which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the
Spirit of God.

Drowning in knowledge but lacking wisdom, mighty works but no fruits

Luke 7:30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God
against themselves, being not baptized of him.

Being Sola Scriptura I have always being harping on studying the Word of
God and going into the depths of it, but since some years ever since I
started interacting with the so called learned or anointed lot of
Christians I have realized a greater evil of too much knowledge but no
wisdom is amongst us.

The Pharisees were the righteous lot. They were people of traditions and
works. The lawyers mentioned here were not lawyers of the civil law but
lawyers or authorities of the religious law meaning they were scriptural
experts.

Today's message says when John the Baptist preached repentance and
baptism the people including the tax collectors who were considered the
worst among sinners, also repented and were baptized but the religious
and the scripture experts did not. Jesus likened them to immature
children entertaining themselves and each other in a market place
(amongst people).

We have two lots of people, one lot that stand on stages before
thousands of people and the other lot behind thousands of books, these
are like the Pharisees and lawyers doing great works and having great
knowledge, but sadly both are far from having Christ like nature and wisdom.

One basic principle we need to get into ourselves. We are called not to
make just believers or just led people or just to be a blessing to the
people, we are called to make disciples for Christ. We may have hundreds
or thousands of followers that follow us daily or every event, and we
may be very happy thinking we have achieved. We may think when we enter
Heaven, God will be pleased and we will receive a great welcome. But let
me tell you such thing may not happen at all or the opposite may happen.
What God will see is how many amongst those we have collected are
following Him and not us.

Let us concentrate on the fruits, let us look at how many amongst those
we are leading are following the Lord, not us. Let us remember more
important than the works and the knowledge of God is the heart and
wisdom of God.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are All Seeing and All Knowing God. You Lord know the hearts
and minds of people. You see the thoughts and attitude more than the
works and the words. Lord we pray we focus on the purpose and on You
more than focus on us and our achievement. We pray we be fruitful...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Luke 7:30-34
30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against
themselves, being not baptized of him.
31 And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this
generation? and to what are they like?
32 They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling
one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not
danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.
33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine;
and ye say, He hath a devil.
34 The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a
gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!

Matthew 13:24-30
24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of
heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat,
and went his way.
26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then
appeared the tares also.
27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir,
didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto
him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also
the wheat with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest
I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind
them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

Did Paul deny the Holy Spirit?

2 Thessalonians 1:2 Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and
the Lord Jesus Christ.

Each and every letter of Paul starts with a greeting but surprisingly he
greets then only in the name of the Father and the Son. We do not find
even one greeting of Paul which mentions the Holy Spirit. That does not
mean Paul does not acknowledge the Holy Spirit. In his letters 26 times
he mentions directly the ‘Holy Spirit’ / ‘Spirit of God’ and indirectly
even more times. This greeting issue is not only with Paul even other
epistle writers have done the same.

If we look at the New Testament we find 5 scriptures which directly
mention the Holy Spirit as the Spirit of Christ / Jesus / Son. There are
many scriptures that mention Spirit of the Lord but none as ‘Spirit of
the Father’. Yes there are 2 scripture which mentions Spirit but in the
third reference. Only in Matthew 12:18 we find one scripture which
directly says ‘I will put my spirit upon him [Jesus]’, and it is only in
Matthew we find all three Father, Son and Holy Spirit mentioned (1 John
5:7 is questionable scripture since older manuscripts do not have it).

Paul, John and others did not denying the existence of the Father, Son
and Spirit, nor were giving preference to two over the third. What they
understood was the relationship between them. The relationship of the
Godhead is not as simple as people have put in their definition of
‘Trinity’. Like some of the well-known theologians who promoted
‘Trinity’ themselves stated their knowledge on this is very limited.

People, who think the Bible is known and the understanding of God is
known, let me tell you, we have hardly started. The knowledge and
understanding of the Kingdom of God and God Himself is like an ocean and
what we know is just a river.

Bible says it is not our knowledge and efforts to study His Word that
will reveal its understanding; it says God’s Spirit will reveal the Word
unto us like He did to the Apostles. They started to understand His Word
only after their baptism in the Holy Spirit. Jesus as man / Son of Man
knew His limitation thus handed over His disciples to His Spirit to lead
them and built them in Him.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are One God and yet we know You as Father, Son and Spirit. Lord
we pray we understand You better and thus know your purpose of being
three yet one. We pray Lord for a better relationship with your Spirit
for it is only by your Spirit we have share in your victory...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

The marriage that birth Catholicism

John 2:1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and
the mother of Jesus was there:

When we talk to Catholics why they ask Mary to intercede in their
prayers the first thing they will state is that, since Jesus obeys His
mother's request so it is a failsafe option to go via Mary. If we accept
this argument then it pictures Jesus as not being merciful for requests
to Him directly may be rejected, but if the same put via Mary it will
get heard. This also puts Mary at a higher authority over Jesus.

To understand the mind-set of a Catholic I am reproducing a statement
from Caphucin Francisans website:- "According to a pious legend, one day
St. Francis of Assisi had a vision in which he saw his friars trying to
reach Christ by a ladder that was red and very steep. After climbing a
few rungs, they would suddenly fall back. Our Lord then showed St.
Francis another ladder, white and much less steep, at whose summit
appeared the Blessed Virgin, and He said to Francis: “Advise your sons
to go by the ladder of My Mother."

In the so called 'legend' the red ladder symbolized penance while the
white ladder symbolizes grace. In other words they state that grace came
through Mary and not through Jesus as stated in John 1:17. Also note
'penance' is not a Christian term but a pagan one. No person is
justified by penance; even Job's suffering was not penance. So the
called vision was unbiblical and this person needed spiritual
counselling. Repentance means correction while penance means paying the
price (may be full of less).

The ladder to Jesus is repentance and not penance. This repentance leads
to baptism which is also helped by the Spirit of The Son. So by putting
Mary in picture Catholics deny the Holy Spirit as the Helper.

If we truly look at the marriage of Cana it changes the whole picture
and puts Mary in not a good light. Mary and Jesus were not guests to the
marriage but party to it for the marriage was of a daughter of Mary. The
marriage was held at the grooms place so they were invited. As stated in
today's message Mary was there 3 days before the marriage so as to help
organize it. It was this reason she knew who were to come, thus she took
the authority to remove the large vases / waterpots of stone kept at the
entrance to wash the hands of the guests as per Jewish tradition. This
tradition of washing was taken very seriously and we see later the Jews
did not spare even Jesus for not following it. Keeping this in mind only
a person knowing all the invited guest had already arrived could take
the call of using them. Also Mary being a devote Jew could not go about
ordering the helpers at someone else's marriage unless it was a family
affair. It was also this reason that Jesus took along His disciples to
the marriage.

People fail to see that Jesus did not want to do the miracle of wine and
protested at first for He did not want to glorify Himself, but then
seeing the situation and how desperate Mary was so even after rebuking
her He still gave in. This situation can be correlated to the parable of
the widow and the judge, of how the persistence of the widow finally
caused the judge to give in her favour, but scripture later says when
the Son of Man (Jesus) comes again would He find faith?

Mary getting Jesus to do the miracle of Cana was a miracle that was not
to happen yet we see not only Catholics but 'n' number of Believer
Preachers preaching on this without understanding it.

It is distortion of the truth that gives rise to religions and
denominations. Let us not read into the Word but read and understand
that which the Word is telling us.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and You alone are worthy of glory. You Lord as a man
did not seek glory for no man even perfect is not worthy of glory of
man. You said the glory that You as man seek is that which comes from
the Father in Heaven, when He lifts You up before all mankind. Lord may
we learn from You and be like You. We pray that those among the
Catholics who have the seed of faith to believe your Word more than the
words of man may open their eyes to the Truth and follow You instead of
following a manmade religion...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by
Jesus Christ.

John 2:1-11
1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the
mother of Jesus was there:
2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They
have no wine.
4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour
is not yet come.
5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of
the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and
manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

Luke 18:1-5,8
1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always
to pray, and not to faint;
2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither
regarded man:
3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying,
Avenge me of mine adversary.
4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself,
Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her
continual coming she weary me.
8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the
Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Can Eunuchs be Baptized?

Acts 8:36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water:
and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

We read in today's message Phillip ministered and later baptized the
Ethiopian eunuch. This was done after the Lord (Holy Spirit) got Phillip
to encounter the eunuch who sought the Lord through scriptures.

Most people do not have a clear understanding of eunuchs. They confuse
eunuchs with transgender or transvestite. Transgender means a person who
wishes change / changes one's gender to the opposite gender.
Transvestite means a person of a gender who dresses or behaves like the
opposite gender. A eunuch on the other hand is a male who has undergone
castration for a purpose.

In the Bible the concept of eunuch started with those men who served in
the queen's chamber, so it was a professional necessity. In history we
see later the temples started engaging eunuchs for the activities of the
temple. They were homosexual male prostitutes who attracted men to the
temple. Transgender in India are mostly people of the later type but
have now moved out of the temples and have changed they purpose, seeking
livelihood by blessing (in the name of their gods) at ceremonies. Many
of these have clans that resort to begging on streets and also prostitution.

The question is, are eunuchs, transgender and transvestite 3rd gender? NO

There is no 3rd gender, what is confused as 3rd gender is gender
dysphoria. Gender dysphoria is a medical situation which is caused
psychiatrically or genetically. The psychiatric condition happens due to
misunderstanding of ones 'self or due to spiritual problems. The genetic
condition happens due to things like hormonal changes / imbalance or
exposure to estrogenic drugs.

Hormone imbalance is not rare but rarely visible externally. It is only
when the imbalance is great that we see small things like woman getting
moustaches, beards, or men having breasts or even extreme cases like
have genetic organs of the other gender. This can happen also in between
one's life time, such as in puberty, menopause and perimenopause.
Hormone imbalance may also be caused by exposure to toxins or an
unbalanced lifestyle.

It is mainly due lack of understanding to the psychiatric or spiritual
part why the world accepts a 3rd gender (and now multi gender).

A eunuch, transgender or transvestite can come to the knowledge of
Christ and be baptized in Him but for this they need to accept the truth
that God has not created them as a 3rd gender, they are not a mistake.
They should accept the fact they need spiritual and physical healing.
The healing may happen before or later to their baptism, but the
acceptance is necessary before. No person can repent and be baptized
thinking God has made a mistake.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Omnipotent God, You were, You are and will always be, for
You are eternal and never changing. Lord we pray we understand problems
come due to sin and spiritual corruption in man. We pray those who are
lost and deceived seek restoration spiritually through your Word and
your Spirit...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Isaiah 56:3-5
3 Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the
LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people:
neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.
4 For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and
choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;
5 Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place
and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an
everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.

Corruption and sickness

Luke 5: 19,20 And when they could not find by what way they might bring
him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let
him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.
And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are
forgiven thee.

Today's message talks of how the faith of a few did not hinder the
situation, that they could not enter the crowded house through the door,
so they went in through the roof. Jesus seeing their faith healed the
person by forgiving his sins.

It is only when we understand sin that we understand the relation of
sickness with sin. It is only when we understand the design or image in
which we are made we can understand how the different types of
sicknesses are related to our spiritual being.

Sin is breaking of the Law but even before the Law was given evil
existed (i.e. Satan/fallen angels). Sin by itself is easy to define but
there is a thin line between evil and good. Law was given to protect us
from evil and breaking of the law caused the existence of sin. Sin by
itself is not the problem the problem is evil. The consequence of sin is
death for evil cannot coexist with Truth, Righteousness and Holiness.
The day Adam and Eve sinned they lost truth and righteousness which we
had and thus they (tried to) hide from the Lord and covered themselves
since they experienced nakedness.

Evil is compared to darkness because evil is about going against the
plans or principles of God. Evil means corruption or eating away the
good that exists (thus even projected as doubt).

If we understand the image of God in us we will understand our physical
design and as well as our biological design since it tells us about the
things of God. When evil exists in us it can manifest as corruption in
the design and thus is seen as sickness. The sin of Adam and Eve took
time to manifest physical and when it did they named their grandson
'mortal' / 'Enos'. Bible says it was then they started realizing the
value of God therefore called on His Name.

Mostly all sicknesses have roots into our spiritual being but that
cannot be taken as a thumb rule since at times things happen for the
glorification of God or for the understanding of His Kingdom (i.e. the
young blind man in John 9:1-3)

When Jesus forgave the sins of the person in today's message (cancelled
the consequence of his wrongs) He healed the root of his sickness and
that is how He restored his health.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are a Holy God and nothing unholy can dwell before You. Lord
You being Righteous and Light You will not let darkness dwell but in
your wisdom You set a period before You take action against the
perpetrators of darkness. You took action not only against the doers of
evil but also the evil itself. You created man to overcome that darkness
by being a light. It is your Light that shines in us and we overcome
darkness (evil) first within us and then without. We pray Lord we
understand against whom or what our battle is and not lose focus...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Genesis 4:26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he
called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.

John 9:1-3
1 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man,
or his parents, that he was born blind?
3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but
that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

John 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth
on me should not abide in darkness.

Acts 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light,
and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness
of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that
is in me.

Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the
world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made,
even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

1 Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the
last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised
incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Multiply your talents

Matthew 25:20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought
other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents:
behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.

In today's message the word talent does not mean the talent we
understand today. The word used in the message means a scale of measure.

In fact the word talent used today is unchristian as the word luck is.
We do not believe in luck because we believe in a God who is alive and
who is in control of all things. Similarly the term talent is a skill we
evolve, so it is something we take credit for unlike the Bible says the
Lord gives us the skill and we just unwrap it. So a plane that flies
cannot say it has the talent to fly for it was designed to do so. But if
a plane behaves like a car and does not take to the air will disappoint
its creator. The only credit the plane can take is if it flying more, so
perseverance is what it can take credit for.

All who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ are like the servants to whom a
measure is given and of which we need to be responsible for on Judgment
Day. So the question is that what is that which today's message consider
is measured which will even deny our entry into Heaven?

If we understand the Bible everything is about fruits - Fruits of the
Holy Spirit. We all who are children of God have the seeds of the Fruits
in us and these we develop as we grow in the Lord. It all starts with
the seed of faith and then goes on to the other seeds. The most
important is the Fruit of Truth which is not given by default when we
are born but comes to us when we germinate the seed of faith. The
germination of the seed of Truth is done by our baptism in the Holy
Spirit [Spirit of Truth] that is why it is not mentioned in Galatians
but mentioned in Ephesians along with the other 2 Fruits Righteousness
and Holiness. Truth comes from the Holy Spirit, Righteousness from the
Son and Holiness from the Father; these Fruits are all gifted to us.

Jesus said when we follow Him and become His disciples we will know the
Truth and the Truth will set us free; free from the holds of sin and
death by us gaining access to Heaven.

Giving shelter to the homeless, feeding the hungry and clothing the
naked has nothing much to do with natural social work but has a
spiritual dimension to it. If we do all these in the natural but do not
do the spiritual that is win souls for the Lord then all these 'works'
will be like rags before the Lord.

We are justified by grace and confirmed by our faith which manifests
into works of faith. If we do not have works of faith then we do not
have true faith and if we do not have faith then grace is out of the
question since we receive grace only by our faith.

The Father's business is into Fruits and we are called to be associates
of the Lord Jesus Christ who is the vine. We work under His Name, and if
we do not increase our Fruits even after being pruned then we will not
have a right to our inheritance in Heaven, but those who do well will be
rewards likewise.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are God of increase. You Lord have blessed us with the seeds
which have potential for great harvest. Unless we like a seed do not die
to ourselves we will not be Fruitful spiritually. Lord we pray we be
Fruitful spiritual so that we receive the abundance of that which You
have set for us in Heaven...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Matthew 7:17-23
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt
tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt
tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast
into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the
kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in
heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied
in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done
many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me,
ye that work iniquity.

John 8:31-32
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue
in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 15:1-15 [The Greek word Philo means friends and also associates. It
is only when we translated as associates we understand these scriptures
rightly]
12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for
his associates.
14 Ye are my associates, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what
his lord doeth: but I have called you associates; for all things that I
have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

Wrath of God on His people

Joel 1:15 Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a
destruction from the Almighty shall it come.

Yesterday I was sitting and preparing on Joel chapter 1 so as to share
on it at our Church cell group and today the Lord gave me a verse from
the very chapter.

I have read this chapter many a times but when one is asked to preach on
it then the chapter just explodes into something one did not imagine.
The chapter being a prophecy to the generations of Israel, almost every
line is symbolic and has great depth into it. The anger of God after
years and years of tolerance of the stiff-neck Israelites shows up in
the book of Joel.

This same wrath is projected in the parable by Jesus of the fig tree in
the vine yard. Israel is projected as a fig tree planted in a vineyard,
which does not bear fruit. When the man questioned the dresser of the
vineyard the viability of keeping this unfruitful tree since 3 years,
the dresser says he would nurture it further for another year to see if
it bears fruit and then would take due steps against it.

The history of the people of Israel starts with Noah for the first
covenant was made between God and man Noah. From Noah to Jesus, it was
about 3000 years (symbolizing 3 years) and we see before the end of the
next 2000 years (after 1 year) was the Second World War where the Jews
saw the worse days of their history.

Let us understand that God cannot be taken for granted so also His grace
cannot be taken for granted. True His abundance grace is available for
us but this grace too is for a purpose and for a period. If grace was
endless then Judgment Day should not have existed, truth is it is there
and all will be judged.

Bible says do not let the Sun [symbolizing God's grace] go down on our
anger for then the same anger will work against us. So till God's grace
is available let us change and turn to Him. Let us not be like the
Israelites who kept testing God's grace and then saw His wrath.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Slow to Anger but then You being a Righteous God will one
day take action. We pray Lord we do not see your wrath as the Jews did.
We pray your people wake up and turn to your ways today, and do not wait
for tomorrow for tomorrow may be too late...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Joel 1:1-3
1 The word of the LORD that came to Joel the son of Pethuel.
2 Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land.
Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?
3 Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their
children, and their children another generation.

Luke 13:
6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in
his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.
7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three
years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down;
why cumbereth it the ground?
8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also,
till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt
cut it down.

Ephesians 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon
your wrath:

Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the
knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

John the Baptist's life of repentance

John 1:23, 24 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness,
Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias. And they
which were sent were of the Pharisees.

I have hear many preachers preach of how John the Baptist declared Jesus
being the Lamb of God or how he baptized many including Jesus in the
Jordan river. But I have never heard any one preach why John the Baptist
at an early age lived a life of repentance and solitude in the wilderness.

Repentance is required for a person who has strayed away for a righteous
life. John the Baptist was not a great sinner or did not do any great
wrongs to have chosen to live a life of repentance when he was small. It
is only when we understand he was Elijah who was taken up that we
understand the way of life of John.

Elijah was one of the greatest Prophets after Moses for the great
miracles he did. Even today we have many cult followers of Elijah like
End Times Ministry / Elijah Ministries who have made Elijah almost a god
like Jews have made Moses and Catholics have made Mary.

No one knew John the Baptist was Elijah leaving for Jesus. If we see the
only Prophet rebuked by Jesus was Elijah even though he was so great a
Prophet. When we understand why Jesus rebuked Elijah (spirit of Elijah)
we will understand the life of repentance of John.

The life of Elijah and John the Baptist put together is a great teaching
for all Men and Women of God who desire to do great works in the Kingdom
of God. Like to follow the Spirit of the Word is more important than to
follow the text of the Word, similarly the reason of our works will
define to whom we give the glory, to God or to ourselves. We need to do
the Lord's work in the right spirit and for the right purpose.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You alone are God and You alone are worthy of all glory. Lord we
pray as we work in your vineyard we maintain the right spirit and the
right purpose. We pray Lord we be a blessing for your people more and
more...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Luke 1:13-17
13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is
heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call
his name John.
14 And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his
birth.
15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink
neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy
Ghost, even from his mother's womb.
16 And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.
17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn
the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the
wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Matthew 17:11-13
11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come,
and restore all things.
12 But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him
not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also
the Son of man suffer of them.
13 Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the
Baptist.

Luke 9:54-56
54 And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord,
wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume
them, even as Elias did?
55 But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner
of spirit ye are of.
56 For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save
them. And they went to another village.

Luke 9:28-31
28 And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took
Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.
29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and
his raiment was white and glistering.
30 And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:
31 Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should
accomplish at Jerusalem.

Inferring without confirming

Acts 21:29 (For they had seen before with him in the city Trophimus an
Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.)

In today's message we read how the people who saw Paul with an Ephesian,
later saw Paul performing a Jewish tradition in the Temple thus assumed
that the Ephesian was with Paul in the Temple. This conclusion without
confirmation led to them to create something like a riot situation in
the whole city.

Paul did do a mistake of agreeing to join a few people to give up their
Jewish belief and accept Christ after doing a Jewish ritual (breaking a
vow). This mistake became very dear to Paul for this led to his arrest
and later to become a martyr. Paul, who corrected others, did what he
warned others, simply because he did not rely on his own judgment but
fell due to pressure and convincing by others.

Today the Lord wants to open our eyes to inference we cause on ourselves
due to influence of others and due to our own assumption. This effect is
very much seen in our understanding of scriptures. There are hundreds of
cases where the scripture simply states 'X' thing but due the constant
telling of others we understand 'Y' thing. We read 'X' but let the 'Y'
be assumed. We also take 'A' from a scripture and 'B' from another
scripture and then add 'A'+'B' to assume 'C' since 'A+B=C', not
confirming if 'C' is supported or rejected by other scriptures.

Inferring without confirming is the greatest cause of various
denominations being formed. During the times of the Apostles since they
sat and discussed therefore they did not face many situations of
difference of doctrines between themselves. Yes there were a few times
like between Paul and Peter but this too was soon overcome over a period
of time. We may be very cautious like Paul but even one time letting
down our guard can become costly for us.

Discussions are very important for spiritual growth. We should hear
every option but accept only after verifying. Things which are contrary
to scriptures we should reject, if we do not understand we should not
reject but leave it aside for another day while praying over it.

We turn discussion into arguments, when we take the focus from the topic
and put the focus on the people. When people are made more important
than the understanding, we have divisions and then denominations.

Let us not assume things due to the teaching of others however famous or
many they may be nor assume due to our own over sight. Let us confirm
all things and be always open for correction. If we do this we will do
well in the Kingdom of God.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord reject the wise of this world for
they do not know the truth but believe in the words of man. They are
like blind men who claim to be able to see by their touch. Lord we pray
we confirm all understanding through your Word and not let people or our
own assumption cause to mislead us from the truth...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Acts 21:18-34

Matthew 13:13-15
13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not;
and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By
hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall
see, and shall not perceive:
15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of
hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should
see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand
with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Spiritual Gifts

1 Corinthians 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not
have you ignorant.

If we read chapter 12 of Paul's first letter to the Church at Corinth,
Paul while talking of spiritual gifts starts with the paganism practiced
by the Israelites and about one not being able to say Jesus is the Lord
without the help of the Holy Spirit. Let me address them in the reverse
order.

If we recollect most of the terrorist attacks by Islamist, they let go
of the people only if they recite the Shahada which is the first verse
of the Quran. The Shahada states there is no other god than Allah and
Mohammad is his prophet. If the person does recite this they believe the
person is a Muslim so let go of the person else they kill the person. In
the current situation happening in Philippines where a town is under
seize by ISIS people many Catholic managed to escape death by reciting
the Shahada.

If one studies the Shahada it actually acknowledges the existence of
other gods but selects Allah as their god and Mohammad is his prophet.
Now to recite the Shahada one does not need a person to really believe
it, if a person really understands it and believes it means he or she is
indeed a Muslim. Similarly by saying Jesus is the Lord one does not
become a Christian or has the Holy Spirit but when we understand the
words 'Jesus is the Lord' it does for it means there is no other God
than the Lord and Jesus is Him; so to say such a thing needs a
revelation of the Holy Spirit. It speaks of the oneness of God even
though we speak of the Son, the Holy Spirit and the Father and Jesus
being Him.

When we talk of Christian faith, we normally think of what a person
accepted from the Bible. Faith is not only what a person has accepted
from the Bible but also what a person has accepted from the world, it is
one's belief and one's disbelief together that composes one's faith.
When one believes Jesus is Lord and also believes in other gods than
that person does not know Jesus and has nullifies his or her faith in
Jesus. The former Israelites (first lot) who exited Egypt whose names
were removed from the Book of Life because they believed in other gods
while they believed in the Lord.

Paul spoke of this while touching the topic of spiritual gifts since
spiritual gifts is a very important part of a Christian life it
underlines one's baptism in the Holy Spirit. If anyone claims to be
baptized in the Holy Spirit will have at least one spiritual gift,
anyone not having any spiritual gift can be rest assured the he or she
is yet not baptized in the Holy Spirit. In the book of Acts we see most
of the baptism in the Holy Spirit, were manifested with receiving the
gift of Tongues. Those who understand the gift of Tongues will know how
it builds faith of a person by get one to overcome one's own thinking.
Those who deny the gift of Tongues will be always found to be a confused
lot lacking faith and lacking understanding of scriptures.

Let us understand by giving God a small place in our lives we do not
become Christians. To be Christians we need to surrender ourselves
completely to God. Surely there will be a battle like Jacob battled but
then we too will be called Israel / Sons of God only if we do not give
up like Jacob did not. To be baptized in the Holy Spirit we need to
battle with our understanding of God and this can be done only with
surrendering to the Holy Spirit. Our surrender / baptism in the Holy
Spirit will manifest with the gift/s of the Holy Spirit and this/these
gift/s will help us in our spiritual walk in Him.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and You alone are God. Your Son, a part of You humbled
and became man and became our way to You. He paid the price for ours
sins so that we receive His Spirit who helps us walk in that way. Your
Son and His Spirit not only opened the door to Heaven but made the
impossible possible for us, today we can see the open door to Heaven and
can go to Heaven. Lord we pray we understand the importance of
surrendering to your Spirit after believing in the Word. It is your
Spirit who makes the Word into a Living Word in us...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
1 Corinthians 12:1-11
1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols,
even as ye were led.
3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the
Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus
is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which
worketh all in all.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit
withal.
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the
word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing
by the same Spirit;
10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another
discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another
the interpretation of tongues:
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to
every man severally as he will.

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to
speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Acts 19:6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit
came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

Giving least importance to the natural efforts

Mark 11:11 And he entered Jerusalem and went into the temple. And when
he had looked around at everything, as it was already late, he went out
to Bethany with the twelve.

We see during Jesus' life time on earth as man He spent a lot of time
around synagogues for He preached there. He went there for the people
and not for what the people did there, He kept himself far from the
traditions of the Jewish people even though He was born Jew.

Today's message speaks of the time towards the end of His ministry when
He entered Jerusalem on a young of a donkey. Many of the Jews did
consider Him to be 'Messiah' the savior of Israel and the prophet
promised who would be greater than Moses but by Jesus coming on the
young of the donkey with its mother tagging alone, He fulfilled the
prophecy of Zachariah (9:9) and they were confirmed, thus shouted
'Hosanna'. The Hebrew word 'Hosanna' is from Psalms 118:25 and means
'save now, I beseech thee' for the Jewish people thought the Lord was
going to deliver them from the Romans at the hands of Jesus.

What is interesting is after His grand welcome to Jerusalem Jesus goes
to the temple drives away the traders and then takes a look around the
temple. Before this He had been invited to take a tour of the temple but
He did not care, He even drove away the traders before but did not care
to look around. Now that the time was on hand He did spent time to look
at the work done to build the temple until it became very late in the
evening. We see after His visit the next day He cursed a fig tree that
seems to be in fruitful from far (the tree changes color of its leaves)
but on going near there were no fruits on it.

God gives the least importance to worldly things that we do even if they
are done in His name. We may build grand Church structures or even
housing complexes for the homeless people. What He is interested more is
our building His people. He will not dishonor our work but then He will
also not honor it, He will surely see it but will not reward us for it.

We need to understand whatever we do must bear fruit in the lives of the
people. It may it be big or small, the size of the job is not important
but the fruits it bears is.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God who sees all and knows all. You Lord are not deceived
by man or the works of man. You Lord look deep within the hearts of man
and know their thoughts. You Lord reward them that truly work selflessly
for your Kingdom. You are the Lord who provides the harvest and You
alone give growth to the harvest. Lord even though You do almost
everything yet You desire man to be the instrument through whom You
bring light into the darkness. What use is a grand lamp which is not lit
in darkness? Lord we pray we shine your glory more than our own...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Psalms 118:25 Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee,
send now prosperity.

Mark 11:12-14, 20-21
12 And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:
13 And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he
might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing
but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.
14 And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee
hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.
20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried
up from the roots.
21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the
fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

Zechariah 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of
Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having
salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an
ass.

John 2:13-17

Matthew 21:11-17

Luke 21:5-6
5 And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly
stones and gifts, he said,
6 As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which
there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown
down.

Moses the Great Law Giver

Acts 7:29 Then fled Moses at this saying, and was a stranger in the land
of Madian, where he begat two sons.

We know in the Old Testament Moses stands out as a great Man of God for
he was used by the Lord to give the Law of the Lord. The Lord also did
great miracles and wonders by the hand of Moses. The influence of Moses
is so great that other than Elijah, David and Abraham none stand near
him in the lives of the Jews. The fact God hid his body after he died
speaks volumes; God knew he would be the Mary of the Catholic Church and
the Jews would idolize his body. We see when Stephen was stoned to death
because the Jews accused him of Blasphemy, first of the name of Moses
and then of the name of the Lord. Moses himself could not be blamed for
the Jews putting him to the level of a god and this we read in Jude.

Even though Moses had great influence on the Jewish people yet we see
his 2 sons had no role as leaders, they were ordinary Levis. On the
other hand we see Aaron the bother of Moses and his sons had important
role to play as leaders of the Jewish Church. The person to blame for
this was none other than Moses himself. The first time when the Lord
asked Moses to go to Pharaoh and ask him to release His people, Moses
hesitated and started making excuses. Moses who was bought up as a
brother to the Pharaoh in his place now was reasons of incompetency of
speech pointing to his stammering. Had Moses not hesitated, the Lord
would not have got Aaron in the picture and if Aaron was not in the
picture, his sons too would not have been chosen as leaders.

We need to understand our blessings flow from us to our children. We can
be door openers for great blessings in their lives in the Kingdom of God
if we walk in the will of the Lord always.

Let us not be Moses who had seen wonders of the Lord yet hesitated and
stepped back. Even though he later gained courage yet that opportunity
did not come again. Let us say YES to the Lord every moment, having
trust and courage in Him.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. Let not this acknowledgment be just words but
a realization in our lives. May we remember always that nothing is
impossible for You. Lord we pray that we be ready to say YES to You
every moment of our lives so that not only we be blessed but our
generations too be blessed in You...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Deuteronomy 34:5-6
5 So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab,
according to the word of the LORD.
6 And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against
Bethpeor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day.

Acts 6:11 Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak
blasphemous words against Moses, and against God.

Jude 1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he
disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing
accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

Exodus 4:10-17
10 And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither
heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow
of speech, and of a slow tongue.
11 And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh
the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?
12 Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what
thou shalt say.
13 And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom
thou wilt send.
14 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is
not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And
also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he
will be glad in his heart.
15 And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I
will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye
shall do.
16 And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even
he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead
of God.
17 And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do
signs.

Does God hate horses?

Zechariah 12:4,5 In that day, saith the LORD, I will smite every horse
with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes
upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with
blindness. And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The
inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the LORD of hosts their
God.

In the Hebrew language names of people / place or things are not given
names just for the sake of it. Every name has a meaning and by it
meaning its purpose or description or desire is known.

The word for horse in Hebrew comes from the root meaning swift which
means the object is swift or used to travel fast. In symbolism a horse
symbolizes progress.

The word translated as governor means guide here (it also means friend
or duke).

Jerusalem is a small part of Judea / Judaea, and Judaea was a part of
Israel (Judah is the tribe to whom this part was given), so when the
Lord referred to Jerusalem many a times He did not mean the city or the
people of the city. Jerusalem symbolizes those growing in the Lord that
is why we see the Lord says in this scripture ‘shall be my strength’ and
not ‘is my strength’, more in the future. We also read the Lord says
pray for Jerusalem and not pray for Israel since Jerusalem grows into
Israel (having authority in God / Prince of God) and those who are
matured do not need our prayers. People of God have a spiritual journey
that starts from Egypt (dual life /lost sheep) end into Israel (Sons of
God).

Today’s message talks of the anger of God on His people. He says those
who are guides to His people have utterly disappointed Him. He talks of
them experiencing His wrath. Every time we have received such a
scripture we have seen a shaking. But the Lord being a merciful God,
even though He gets angry, He does not fully consume His people, He does
bless them after the shaking.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Father and You love your people. Even though in your anger
You chastise yet in your mercy You bless. Lord we pray for those growing
in the Lord that they grow in You and be strong. We pray Lord especially
for those who You have set to lead your people that they may honestly do
their job and that have the fear of the Lord...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Psalms 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that
love thee.

Isaiah 5:3 And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah,
judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard.

Mark 13:14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken
of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that
readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:

Children of Promise

Galatians 4:31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman,
but of the free.

In today's message we find the Lord defines us between the children of
Hagar and children of Sarah. No doubt Hagar gave birth to Ishmael at the
hand of the Angel of God who met her by the fountain on the way to Sur,
yet we see this child had no part in the inheritance of Abraham. The
child did receive blessings from the Lord, he too did have 12 sons who
were leaders of 12 tribes and they too did multiply. So whatever
blessings Isaac and Jacob had together in the natural was also received
by Ishmael. In fact Ishmael did not struggle for it like Jacob did, or
go through a test like Isaac did.

If we read a couple of verse before today's message we read the Lord is
equating us not really to Hagar and Sarah but more to children of the
flesh and children of the spirit. Those who dwell in the flesh or things
of the flesh are like Ishmael and those who try to dwell in the spirit /
led by the spirit are like children of Sarah (Isaac / Jacob). We need to
note what Ishmael alone received it which took Isaac and Jacob together
to receive it. But then the linage of Ishmael will perish but not the
lineage of Isaac and Jacob (not natural lineage but spiritual lineage)
for they have Abraham's promise.

The Lord is telling us life as people of the flesh will be easy compared
to being people of the spirit. We will need to take double efforts to do
so. But then we are not looking at an earthly reward. The reward we look
at in fact is not known fully to almost all, yet we know it is an
excellent reward for it is from the Lord and the Lord has gone to all
extends and costs to see we receive it.

If today we claim to be children having the promise of Abraham we need
to be children of the spirit and not children of the flesh, so we need
to overcome the desires of the flesh. If you and I are daily caught up
with things of the flesh, things of this world then we need to ask
ourselves are we children of Hagar or children of Sarah?

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and there is none other than You. Lord we pray we
realize your Kingdom is not of this world and if we dwell in the natural
we will not able to enter your Kingdom. We pray Lord we understand even
if it is very difficult we need to overcome the desires of the flesh.
Help us to live a sober lives in the natural that we do not become like
the overloaded camel which can not pass through the gate...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Galatians 4:29-31
29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was
born after the Spirit, even so it is now.
30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and
her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of
the freewoman.
31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the
free.

Genesis 16:7-13
7 And the angel of the LORD found her by a fountain of water in the
wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.
8 And he said, Hagar, Sarai's maid, whence camest thou? and whither
wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai.
9 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and
submit thyself under her hands.
10 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed
exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.
11 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with
child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because
the LORD hath heard thy affliction.
12 And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and
every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all
his brethren.
13 And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God
seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?

Genesis 25:16 These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names,
by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their
nations.

Bible portrays the truth as it is

Ezekiel 23: 14 And that she increased her whoredoms: for when she saw
men pourtrayed upon the wall, the images of the Chaldeans pourtrayed
with vermilion,

Whenever a Christian apologist debates with a Muslim dawah one is see
the first thing the dawah does is open to scriptures in the Bible which
talk of pervert acts been done, or things which are not considered
dignified as human today. Although most of the time it is their
misunderstanding of those scripture but yet at times they do point to
undignified things being done in the Bible.

We need to understand in the Old Testament the Lord tried to guide the
Israelites to be His people. Although He chose them to be His people, we
hardly see of times they behaved like His people. Time and again they
did things which angered God and they were punished more at the hands of
God then by their enemies.

In today's message we see the Lord speaks through Ezekiel about His
displeasure against the Jewish Church (Aholah) and its sister the
Catholic Church (Aholibah), how they followed man more than God, how
they incorporated pagan rituals in the name of the Lord and did whoredom.

The Jewish Church is like the first lot that exited Egypt, they saw
great miracles and also experienced the glory of God but due to their
stiff-neck attitude they were consumed in the wilderness. They struggled
and won all the battles against their enemies but the Lord Himself
became their greatest enemy.

The Christian Believer Church is like the second generation who only
heard of the great miracles but did experience the glory of God. All the
greatest enemies of the first generation were defeated by the second
generation. They were the ones who truly carried the Ark of Covenant
[symbolizes the Cross] and crossed the Jordan River [symbolizes
inheritance of the Father] to inherit the Promised Land [symbolizes Heaven].

The Bible does not hide the mistakes of the people to make itself look
good but exposes mistakes so that we learn not to repeat them. Let us
not be ashamed by some of the things that are written in the Bible but
let us be ashamed if we repeat them even after being warned.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are a Merciful God, You are full of mercy but your mercy can
not be taken for granted. The Israelites received your mercy / former
rain but always failed, we who are in Christ have received grace / later
rain, we pray we do not fail like them. We pray we do not put man before
You or follow traditions of man like they did and still do. We pray we
be like the second generation of Israelites who did win battles, see
your glory and entered the Promised Land for the Bible says when they
died they were gathered unto their fathers...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Ezekiel 23:2-19

Exodus 23:31-34
31 And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have
sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.
32 Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin - ; and if not, blot me, I
pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.
33 And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him
will I blot out of my book.
34 Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have
spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless
in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.

Judges 2:8-10
8 And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being an
hundred and ten years old.
9 And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnathheres,
in the mount of Ephraim, on the north side of the hill Gaash.
10 And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and
there arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor
yet the works which he had done for Israel.

James 5:7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord.
Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and
hath long patience for it, until he [it - earth] receive the early and
latter rain.

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

Who is the strong man?

Luke 11:21,22 When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are
in peace: But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome
him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth
his spoils.

Today's message talks of a strong man, a capable man, a man who is
skilled in many things, a man who is well knowledge, a well to do
self-sufficient man who takes charge of himself and his belongings all
is at peace and all is well for him.

You may wonder why I gave such an elaborate description of the strong
man while the scripture in V21 simply says 'strong man'.

If we look at V22 the Greek word translated as spoils comes from the
word used for prized skin of a hunted animal. So the spoils refer to the
victories or achievements we have gathered in our lives. When we think
these are gained by us then we are the protectors of these things, i.e.
we thing we made a name for ourselves then we are the protectors of our
name, we have learnt something by our efforts then we are the defender
of our knowledge, our understanding and so on...

Today's message says when another person comes our way who is greater
than us then he or she destroys all that we hold precious.

When we think all that we gained is not by our efforts alone but it is
the Lord who made it available for us, it is not only material things
but even things like our reputation, our knowledge, our understanding...
We may have made efforts to learn but when we rely on God to open our
minds and give us the understanding then we can be assured none will
come our way to humiliate us in our understanding for our strong man is
not us but the Lord for our achievement is not ours but His.

We make the Lord our strong man only when we acknowledge the things we
have as given by Him or gained by His grace, His mercy and His favor.
When He is our strong man then we need not worry of losing them since He
is our strong man and there is none greater than Him.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. In your Word You do not just say 'when we
follow You, we will know the truth and the truth will set us free', You
go on to say You will reveal the truth to us. Lord the world does not
know You for they are not receiving from You but are receiving from
themselves. They are becoming strong man to themselves. We pray Lord
they not only acknowledge You in words but in truth...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Mark 3:27 No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his
goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil
his house.

1 Corinthians 4:9-10
9 For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were
appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to
angels, and to men.
10 We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are
weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.

John 8:31b-32
31 ... If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by
Jesus Christ.

John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive,
because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he
dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you
from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the
Father, he shall testify of me:

End time signs

Luke 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in
the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the
sea and the waves roaring;

When people do not connect related scriptures and study them in total
(Cross Reference Study) then they come up with crazy understandings.
Take for example today's message if we read Luke 21:25 by itself we
start to assume there will be physical manifestations of things in space
/ sky. But if we read it along with Matthew 24:29 then this changes;
star are very large bodies in the universe and for many stars to
literally fall and earth still exist is not possible. All things in the
universe co balance each other by gravitational force any great
disturbance can destroy the whole system, like a whole galaxy.

In the Bible many of the things are symbolic, more than literal. Sun
symbolizes the glory / grace of God, moon symbolizes Men of God and
stars symbolize people of God. Unlike people thinking of great
manifestation of things, these events may go unnoticed by those who are
spiritually dead.

Paul in his letters to the Thessalonians concentrated on explaining the
end times and we find he does not mention either the sun or the moon for
he knew it was symbolic.

The Lord's second coming will be like a thief when people are
spiritually asleep and least expecting. So let us who are of the Lord,
not look for physical sign but be spiritually alert of the things that
are happening. The end is not at hand for there is great turmoil
happening in the world but let us educate our children (and their
children) for they will face the times of false peace and then the
sudden coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. Your Word says You desire an uncircumcised
heart. Lord, You look more in the inside than on the outside. Lord in
your second coming too it will be known only to those who are
spiritually alert at that time. Lord we pray we teach our children and
their children who are true Christians, to discern things spiritually
more than to go by the natural senses so that they are not caught asleep...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Matthew 24:
28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered
together.
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be
darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall
fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then
shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of
man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

2 Thessalonians 2:2-12
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by
spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ
is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come,
except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed,
the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or
that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God,
shewing himself that he is God.
5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now
letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume
with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of
his coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power
and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish;
because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they
should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had
pleasure in unrighteousness.

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

Kingship and world peace

Luke 22:29 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed
unto me;

When we read today's scripture it seems to be in future tense that Jesus
will appoint us as kings over a kingdom, but when we check the tense of
the verb appoint, it is not in the future but in the present (TVM -
Present, Middle, Indicative).

We need to understand when God created us He made us kings by giving us
dominance /rule over all this creation. We had this rule because the
truth was in us and we were covered with righteousness. But when man
sinned (ate the fruit of doubt) the truth in him got corrupted and he
lost his righteousness and thus experienced nakedness. God ousted man
from accessing Eden because man became a corrupt being and would
continue to be one forever if he had access to the Tree of Life. God
wanted man to be restored so as to live eternal life in fullness and not
as a corrupt being.

Lord Jesus Christ humbled Himself and became man to become a sacrifice
for us so as to restore us our kingship. Sin made man an enemy of God
since man was covered with sin and God hates sin. We are forgiven of our
sins even though God knows we will continue sinning. By His sacrifice He
made peace between God and man, it is by this peace we receive His
Spirit (Spirit of the Son) who works in us to battle the corruption by
bringing us to the truth. So that on Judgment Day we who have the truth
in us will receive righteousness (Bride's dress) and thus get access
again to Heaven.

Receiving the truth is a gradual process and even though we are asked to
become His disciples to know the truth, yet it is not our efforts that
gain us the truth. Our walk with the Lord and our thirsting for the
truth only proves our worthiness to hold the truth. No one knows about
the Kingdom of God by studying scriptures, one can get knowledge but not
understanding. Understanding of the Kingdom of God comes only as a
revelation from God. Unless God reveals we will never understand. Truth
is a gift from the Holy Spirit as righteousness is a gift from the Son.

A few days back via the message of healing of a leper we learnt how even
before the completion of seven days the priest declared the victim as
healed, so also even before we are restored our righteousness we are
called the righteous of God. Similarly even though we do not know the
complete truth (which we will know before the end comes and this leads
to the rapture) yet we are called children of light, having the truth in us.

We do not need to wait to the end to be kings, if we are in the Lord and
are truly walking in His way we are kings today. We will experience
authority over this world and whatever we command (in line with His
Will) will come to past. Bible says nature / creation became our enemy
due to our corruption, so as we walk towards restoration we find nature
/ creation will not harm us for nature itself awaits our restoration. We
may look for solutions in the world for global warming and calamities,
the solution is within us and not out there. Let us restore our kingship
by lifting the Name (character) of the man Jesus Christ in our lives;
Jesus as man is called Prince of Kings, Prince of Peace for He leads us
to our kingship and peace.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord created us to rule over this
creation but due to corruption we lost our kingship and creation became
our enemy. Satan is the prince of corruption and thus keeps us from our
kingship. Lord we thank You for putting us on the path of restoration by
helping us overcome the corruption through your sacrifice and your
Spirit. We pray we understand the importance of our baptism in You and
how we can change this world, including the weather, calamities and
resources by just holding on to You...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our
likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over
the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and
over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

not ashamed.

with her; and he did eat.
7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were
naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Genesis 3:11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou
eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

Believing yet unsaved

Luke 22:22, 23 And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but
woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed! And they began to enquire
among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.

A large session of 'Christians' are of the notion Once Saved Always
Saved (OSAS). They think all they have to do is be sorry for their sins
and accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and they will
go to Heaven. Irrespective of how they live their lives yet they feel
they will go to Heaven. All they need to so is declare themselves
Christians verbally, attend Church, do charity once a while etc... They
just twist a few words here and there of scriptures and live worldly
lives while holding a false hope of Heaven.

Baptism in Jesus Christ is not one time incident, it is a continual
process. Without repentance there is no baptism and repentance is not
about being sorry. The Greek word for repentance is a compound word
which means 'after understanding'. Repentance is more about seeking the
right more than rejecting the wrong. It requires change in the life and
lifestyle of a person. Jesus said unless we die we cannot have new life,
thus we need to die to ourselves and be renewed in Him.

People who believe in OSAS are those who join school in 1st standard and
think next year they will receive a Graduation certificate!

It is because man does not understand sin and equates it to worldly
crime that they loose on the right understanding. Worldly crime is
centered on things (material or life) of others. It is about
unrightfully taking things or harming them and that is why wrong
intentions or thoughts without action is not a crime. But in Kingdom of
God even wrong thoughts is a sin for unlike worldly crime the harm is
not done unto others but unto oneself.

When we sin we may hurt others (even cause them too to sin) but the one
who get hurt most by sin is ourselves. Bible uses the perfect word
'corruption' for consequence of sin and sin is about corrupting the
image of God in us. Bible says the consequence of sin is death since
corruption cannot exist before God. Adam and Eve were thrown out of Eden
not because they had sinned but mainly because they had become corrupt
beings (sin caused them to become corrupt).

We are considered 'saved' not because we do not sin (which we all do)
but because we engage in the battle to fight corruption within us. God
knows by own selves we will never be able to overcome corruption even if
we receive His Word, and that is why He became a sacrifice so that He
could make peace between man and God and that man could receive His
Spirit. It is the Spirit of God that helps us overcome corruption.

We may die just after accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior or
die after 50 years of doing so what matter is if we are against the
corruption. We will be considered 'saved' only if we hate the corruption
within us and work on it. We can be like the thief on the cross who took
all the courage and overcame worldly sensibility to call an accused
person dying besides him like himself to be his Lord and Savior. He had
to courage to say to a dying man 'Lord remember me when You come in
glory' and because of this Jesus told him 'That day you will be with me
in paradise'.

Jesus commands us to reach out to others not more to help others but
more to help our own selves. God can save every one by appearing to them
but He rarely does that because He wants us to overcome ourselves by
reaching unto them and that is the Will of the Father.

Paul said it is nothing to live or die for Christ. Today if I am in the
Lord (doing His Will) and I die (provided I do not take my own life; can
one ask for eternal life while rejecting the earthly life given by God?)
I will be assured to go to Heaven, but then Heaven is not a flat place.
We seek the riches of Heaven even though we dwell on earth because we
store these riches for us when we reach there (the riches also help us
here and by using them wisely we can multiple our riches in Heaven). The
more the riches we store for ourselves in Heaven the closer will we be
to the Throne of God.

Today's message we read of Jesus telling His disciple that one of them
would betray Him. These were the people who believed Him, left their
families and followed Him for nearly 3 years, did great miracles in His
Name, yet one of them loved money and things of the world greater than
he loved Christ and thus betrayed Him.

We need to ask ourselves are we like Judas, believing Him, following
Him, doing miracles yet loving the world and things of the world over
God, if we do so then are we truly going to Heaven.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Holy and Righteous God. Because You are Holy nothing
corrupt can dwell before You and because You are Righteous You will not
compromise your Name. You Lord humbled and became man to help us
overcome corruption through your Spirit by transforming us from within.
Only those who are born again from above are considered Sons of God and
will be reunited to You. Lord we pray we understand the battle is within
us and to fight it we need to reach out unto others. Help us Lord to do
your Will...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
2 Peter 2:9-21
9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to
reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of
uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled,
they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
11 Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not
railing accusation against them before the Lord.
12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed,
speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly
perish in their own corruption;
13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count
it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes,
sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin;
beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous
practices; cursed children:
15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following
the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
16 But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's
voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a
tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure
through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were
clean escaped from them who live in error.
19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of
corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in
bondage.
20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through
the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again
entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than
the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of
righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy
commandment delivered unto them.

Coming of the Kingdom of God

Luke 22:16-18 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof,
until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. And he took the cup, and
gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves: For I
say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the
kingdom of God shall come.

Muslims believe when they go to Jannah / Paradise there they will be
given round the clock unlimited wine to drink and also they will be
given food starting with liver of fish [whale] as welcome food. Their
Jannah is a garden divided by 4 rivers originating from a fountain
situated at the center [the Taj Mahal garden is based on this design].
Along with the food and drinks, the men get to have sex continually with
up to 72 heavenly women, especially if they are martyrs or have killed
infidels [unbelievers] in the name of Allah. Men and women will have
voluptuous bodies but will not have openings to excrete and they will
not tire doing what they do continually. Allah is seated on a throne
which is situated on a swamp, from beneath which the Sun rises and sets.

Compare this to the Paradise mentioned in the Bible.

In Genesis, Paradise [which is a Greek word meaning garden] named Eden
[in Hebrew means Pleasure] was depicted as a garden with a river flowing
out of it. The river of Eden splits and forms four rivers in a garden
eastward of Eden in which Adam and Eve were created and put. The
highlights of the Garden of Eden are the two trees, one the Tree of Life
and the other Tree of Knowledge of Good and Bad. Adam and Eve had access
to Eden and could eat [fruits] of all the trees of Eden leaving for the
Tree of Knowledge of Good and Bad.

Later as we get to Revelation we see Eden is described no longer as a
garden but more as a city name Jerusalem. Entry to the city is only to
those who believe in the Lord and do the will of the Father. Jesus said
in Heaven we would be like the Angels [spirit beings] neither marrying
or given in marriage [no sex in Heaven]. The ground of the city is
described as made of 12 layers of different types of gems which
coincidently are the same twelve gems that were on the breast plate of
the High Priest [book of Moses] which represented the twelve tribes of
Israel. Eden has twelve gates made of pearls and twelve pillars
according to the twelve apostles of Jesus. The pavements of the city are
of gold. A river flows from beneath the Throne of God and on either side
of the banks of the river is the Tree of Life with its twelve types of
leaves / fruits which heal the beings of Heaven. Note now Eden has only
the Tree of Life [even though it says the tree on either sides of the
river yet uses singular word for the tree, depicting it as 1 tree only]
and there is not mentioned of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Bad.
Paradise has no Sun for the Lord is the light of this city.

We know God is spirit, so also are the Heavenly beings are spirit
beings. We also know that Heaven is infinite in size to have gates, so
all the description given in the Bible is symbolic and not literal. We
see in Islam Mohammed did not understand its symbolism and took it
literal. Since he took it literal he had problems in attending to
worldly questions, like what would people eat or drink and how would
they excrete; also what activity they will do in Paradise, so he coined
up things according to his worldly / limited understanding.

Today’s message talks of Jesus saying at the Last Supper that He would
not drink wine again until the coming of the Kingdom of God. This
scripture got me to think for months and months. It was only after
understanding the relationship between the Father and Son and also the
creation of earth [our creation] and Heavens as mentioned in the Bible
that got me to understand it. The main key to make me open this door of
understanding was the fact that the name ‘Jerusalem’ is given to the
Heavenly City.

All I can share in today’s message is Heaven is not going to be a boring
place. Yes we will be worshiping the Lord unceasingly in Heaven but then
it would not be like an endless worship gathering. Life will be of
another level, totally active and challenging; also our testimony in the
Lord Jesus Christ is that which helps us live that level of life.

[Prayer Starter]
Father God, You are Holy God. Bible says no being has seen You other
than the Son. Bible also says all things were created by the Son for the
Son and it is our testimony in the Son that we carry to Heaven and in
Heaven. Lord we pray You open the minds of the people to understand the
reason You created us and show them the things You have set for us in
Heaven...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Genesis 2
8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put
the man whom he had formed.
10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it
was parted, and became into four heads.
15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden
to dress it and to keep it.
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the
garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not
eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to
know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also
of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to
till the ground from whence he was taken.

Revelation 21, 22

Matthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given
in marriage, but are as angels in heaven.

Revelation 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said
unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren
that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of
Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
