Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

Do we really know His Will?

Ephesians 1:9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will,
according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:

Like I pointed out long back a senior Pastor of a mainstream Church told
me there are 3 Gospels in the New Testament one of Jesus, one of Paul
and one of David, similarly when we speak to people about the Will of
God we will find people pointing to various scriptures where the word
'Will' is mentioned and thus state these are the wills of God.

We need to understand the scripture says 'Will of God' and not 'wills of
God' it speaks of only one and not many. God created mankind for one
purpose and that purpose is the Will of God. If we read the chapter of
today's scripture Paul address somewhat to that purpose (it is just a
glimpse).

It is because we do not know the Will of God that we have complicated
the Bible with our nonsense. We have tried to fit our understanding into
scriptures and have come up with definitions like Trinity to understand
the simple relationship with the Father and Son, and His Spirit, even
though we know God is Spirit and He is One God.

When I communicate with many 'extra learned' theologians or so called
'Biblical experts', I feel sad for them since they choose to not
concentrate on what the scripture says but prefer to concentrate on what
people have said about the scripture. They will quote XYZ person but
will not take the trouble to expound the verse, link similar scriptures
and piece them together to get the proper understanding.

Like Jesus, Paul, John who said even though they knew a lot of things
they preferred to not share all of that they knew. It is easy to teach a
person who does not know but difficult to teach someone who knows
something else.

The Word of God says He will fill infants (babes) with wisdom and
understanding which will shame the wise of this world, it is because an
infant comes with an empty mind to learn while the wise of the world
thinks he or she knows. When we read the Bible let us not try to enforce
our understanding into the scripture but let us understand what the
scripture is trying to tell us.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You God could easily manifest the Truth to
all in a moment but You refrain from doing so. You desire to give to
those who treasure the Truth and do not throw pearls before pigs. Lord
we pray we do not behave like pigs who do not discern what they consume.
Let us discern every understanding that comes from man while being open
to that what your Word says...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Ephesians 1:3-14
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath
blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the
world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ
to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us
accepted in the beloved.
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of
sins, according to the riches of his grace;
8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his
good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather
together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and
which are on earth; even in him:
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated
according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel
of his own will:
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in
Christ.
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the
gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were
sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the
purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

John 16:12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear
them now.

Marrying after divorce

Matthew 19:9 And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for
sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.”

We see to some areas Christians prefer to be blind, either they do not
see what the Bible says or choose not to see what the Bible says.

We all know marriage is between humans and animals do not get married,
even though some species commit themselves to each other unto death yet
they are not considered as married or husband and wife.

Marriage is actually a Christian affair and technically others have
contracts (as per their belief) but that relationship is not 'marriage',
reason marriage is earthly imitating of the relationship between God and
man, so those who do not acknowledge God cannot be married. The purpose
of marriage is solely family (children) and to understand the relationship.

I heard n number of times people say marriage is about love. They fail
to see Jesus said 'love one another as I love you'. Either they claim to
love their spouse more than Jesus or have failed to love their brethren
as Jesus loved and chose to show this love to only their spouse.

In the beginning when God created Adam and Eve, their relationship was
an incest relationship for Eve was made out of Adam. Even their children
married each other and that is how mankind grew (the daughters of Adam
and Eve are not mentioned or of all their sons). During the time of
Moses when mankind had already spread sufficient God commanded anyone
having any incest relationship would be put to death. So what He allowed
He stopped. We also see until the time of Jesus men were allowed to
multiple wives so polygamy was allowed but in the New Testament we read
a change, marriage is defined as relationship between one husband and
one wife only. When we understand the purpose of marriage, we will
understand marriage.

Today's message talks of divorce and remarrying. As per New Testament a
person cannot put away one's spouse for any reason other than sexual
immorality. Anyone divorcing for any reason other than this cannot marry
again.

Let us not mock God's relationship with man by mocking the sacred
covenant of marriage. If God sacrificed His only begotten Son for
mankind, think how much importance He gives to the covenant of marriage.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are love and You love all the same. Your Word says there is no
partiality when we are in Christ. Love is the foundation of all
relationships including marriage, but marriage is more than just loving
one's spouse. Lord we pray your people understand marriage better and
honor this sacred covenant...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he
slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

and brought her unto the man.
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh:
she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall

Seriousness of adultery

Luke 18:20 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not
kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy
mother.

In some parts of India where law and order is in a mess, we find if a
young unmarried girl who is raped reports to a police station, the
police instead of enacting on the law and arresting the criminal, they
will bring the criminal, the victim and their families together and try
to get them married. Before the victim had to bear the initial shame and
violation to her body and now has the bear all her life with the person
who did it, let him violate it every day.

Yesterday we read of divorce and marriage. Today the Lord is telling us
marriage is not a certificate of approval for that which is wrong. In
the commandments we have some things which we are told not to do and it
is not that one is greater than the other. Breaking any of them is a
crime and has the same punishment. So if we look at it in the Kingdom of
God adultery is serious as killing, so also stealing, lying (gossiping)
about people and also not taking care or respecting ones parents.

In the Kingdom of God a sinner is a sinner, there is no greater sinner
or lesser sinner. Yes the one who does more sins suffers more, not
because he or she is punished more. In Hell a person suffers one's sins,
as the Bible says the sins are like never dying burning coals / never
dying flesh eating worms within a person.

It is true we have the hope of redemption in the Lord Jesus Christ but
then this hope comes only after repentance, for without repentance there
is no forgiveness of sins. Like I stated before, repentance is less to
do with being sorry, but more to do with bringing correction into one's
life.

Law made by man has loopholes for wisdom of man is limited, that is why
we have lawyers who look for these loopholes to save their guilty
clients. The Law of God is perfect and errorless and has no loopholes by
which we can justify ourselves. So let us stop fooling ourselves trying
to deceive God. As long as we are alive we can declare our crime / our
guilt, correct ourselves and receive forgiveness; but if we die in our
sins then nothing can be done later.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are a Holy God. You Lord have separated yourself from all that
is unholy. You sent your humbled Son to bring correction and to be a
hope for those in darkness so that the truth becomes a light that
overcomes darkness. We pray Lord we hold to the Truth and let not by our
carnal desires try to justify the wrong...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 8:15-21
15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.
16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I
and the Father that sent me.
17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me
beareth witness of me.
19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye
neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known
my Father also.
20 These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple:
and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.
21 Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me,
and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.

Ephesians 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of
these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

Romans 2:14-16
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the
things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto
themselves:
15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their
conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while
accusing or else excusing one another;)
16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ
according to my gospel [preaching].

Importance of studying the languages in the Bible

Acts 21:40 And when he had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs,
and beckoned with the hand unto the people. And when there was made a
great silence, he spake unto them in the Hebrew tongue, saying,

To study the Bible one needs to understand the languages in which the
Bible was written. One need not be a language expert to start with, for
there are ways a person who does not know abc of those languages can
still piece things together and start understanding.

One may wonder why I need to study the languages when we have so many
good translations in existence. Let me tell you till date I have not
come across a perfect translation for all translators erred in some or
other scripture. I would not blame everything on the translators'
ability (they were language experts as well as skilled at methods of
translating but many lacked spiritual understanding), like we saw in our
previous messages the English language 'you' singular and 'you' plural
are the same and it is not easy to know which is what. Also there are
other numerous restrictions which cause misunderstanding in the right
interpretation of scriptures. Another fact was the translators had
access to few manuscripts and today we have much more with some being
older than those which the translators referred to.

Yesterday itself a brother was asking me on this matter, he recollected
me bringing a large bag full of fat books to one of my Bible classes to
show them essential books required for serious Bible study. And today
the Lord gave me this scripture where Paul instead of speaking the
Aramaic language which was the common people's language or Greek which
was the language of the officials (spoken in most parts of the world
where the Romans ruled), he chose to speak in Hebrew which was the
language of the Jews.

The word Hebrew means 'from the land beyond'. The Hebrew speaking people
were nomadic people and symbolize us Christians. We are not people of
this world but of the world beyond. The language is one of the oldest
languages; it is unique in structure (read right to left). What is
amazing of it is that every word has a meaning and understanding. Like
if we call a cat as 'cat' in the English language and have no reason why
the word 'cat' is associated with the animal but in Hebrew the name
would tell us why.

When the Israelites where exiled to Babylon they learned the Aramaic
language and used it for public communication, but when it came to
temple related communication, they stuck to Hebrew. We find very little
part of the Old Testament in Aramaic like half of Daniel and few verses
here and there in the other books (some books like Nehemiah and Ezra are
said to be originally in Aramaic). Initially the Gospels were written in
Aramaic but later were translated because the Apostles realized most
people outside of Judea and far parts of the world did not understand
Aramaic so they translated them into Greek during their time.

The Greek language is one of the besting things that happened to us
Christians; if it did not exist we would not have been able to deliver
the Gospel, message of salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is not
that the language is better than Hebrew or Aramaic but it has some
unique properties because of its rich grammar for instance the meaning
of the sentence is retained even if the words are jumbled. Also by
studying the TVM (Tone Voice Mood) of the words and having basic
spiritual understanding one can write letters like Paul for the words
hold the whole message within it.

Thanks to James Strong who documented various words of the Bible and
gave them a unique number, for by the number we can get some basic idea
of the biblical words. This helps those who do not know the language to
still explore beyond the translations.

Let us Christians who thirst for the truth go beyond translations. Let
us stop being milk drinking children, let us start using
cross-references to understand relations between verses and word study
(Strong's, Interlinear etc.) to get the right interpretation of the verses.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are an Awesome God. You Lord in your wisdom set things so that
in due time your Word would be understood by your people. You knew Lord
whose' hearts were not ready so You spoke to them few things. They read,
they heard, they saw yet did not understand. You Lord give as much a
heart can take. We thank You Lord for thinking of us to be more worthy
to receive more of your Truth...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Be a city on a hill

Matthew 5: 14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an
hill cannot be hid.

Day before yesterday we had received a message how a Church that resists
any association with darkness (things that are not of the Lord) then the
people too will be full of light.

Today’s message also is on the same lines. Most people, when they read
today’s message they think the Lord is talking to us as an individual
that is not the case. Here too the word ‘you’ is plural and not
singular, so the Lord is talking to us collectively as a body. We see He
also uses the word city. In Revelation we in Heaven Eden [which means
luxury] where we dwell in together is a city [there is no actual city in
Heaven]. The Lord is telling the Church if we shine His light then the
world will have a view of Heaven here on earth. They will experience the
glory of God.

We as a Church may think we are doing lots as a Church but when if we
look at what we are doing and compare it to the Word of God we will find
many of them have no relationship with the Kingdom of God. Anything that
is not according the Kingdom of God is not light but darkness; even if
they look good, or worldly justifiable yet they are darkness.

When we say the word kingdom it means rule of the king, thus the Lord’s
Kingdom means His rule [Word] being exercised. Let us as a Church
[congregation] relook at what we are doing in the name of the Lord and
also let us take efforts to do more for His Kingdom’s sake while making
sure everything that we do is in line with His Word.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God, yet You Lord desire free will for nothing
that has darkness can dwell in the light. Light rebels darkness. Lord we
pray we as a body may overcome the darkness within us so that your light
shines in us and the world sees your glory...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Genesis 1:3-4
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light
from the darkness.

Matthew 5:14-16
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot
be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a
candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good
works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

Post  Admin on Mon 29 May 2017, 10:30 pm

It is about Him

Acts 8:32,33 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was
led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his
shearer, so opened he not his mouth: In his humiliation his judgment was
taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken
from the earth.

We read in today’s message the Ethiopian eunuch (man who served in the
queen’s chambers) opened scriptures to read and he landed on Isaiah
53:7-8. He inquired with Philip as to who it was and then Philip
explained to him it was about Jesus Christ.

We who have read the Gospels may find it very easy to identify this
scripture to be regarding Jesus. But then there are scriptures even
today many read but do not understand it is about Jesus.

Let us take Hebrews 7:1-4 the scripture talks of Melchisedec and
Abraham, and how Abraham honored Melchisedec by giving 10th of his gain
(from war). Now the scripture mentions ‘without father and without
mother’ and people think it speaks of Melchisedec as being a person
like Adam who was not born out of a human parent but was created. They
do not realize the scripture also says ‘having neither beginning of
days, nor end of life’. Now Melchisedec was not God to be born without
beginning of days or to have endless life (within oneself). This
characteristic to have life within oneself is only processed by God the
Father and which He gave to His Son. We in Heaven will be able to live
eternal life but that does not mean we will have life within ourselves
(we do so through the Tree of Life and we need continual access to it).
Also to be ‘from the beginning’ is also a characteristic only of God the
Father and the Son (who existed within the Father before He was revealed).

This misunderstanding exists primarily because of the wrong numbering of
this letter into chapters and verses. Bible numbering was done by a
printer while printing the Bible. If we read 6:20 the writer (assumed to
be Paul but not confirmed) speaks of Jesus. Melchisedec represented
Jesus Christ symbolically by name, his position and what he did.

Melchisedec means king of righteousness and Melchisedec was no righteous
person, none were before Jesus. There were people like Job who were
called righteous for they pursued righteousness but not because they
achieved it.

Melchisedec was king (ruler) of Salem (meaning peace), he was king of a
place called peace (in Hebrew) but Jesus Christ is the true Prince
(ruler) of Peace.

Melchisedec bought bread and vine and when Abraham saw him do that,
Abraham saw Christ in him and therefore Abraham gave him his tithes.

The description of being without father or mother, without beginning or
end is a quality of Christ. He was born of a virgin meaning He was not
made like a human in the womb of the virgin but came into existence by
the power of the Holy Spirit [His Spirit] therefore biological had
neither a father nor a mother, even though civically He had a father
(Joseph) and mother (Mary). This is the reason Jesus at times (in anger)
called Mary ‘woman’, telling her she was not really His mother but only
gave birth to Him (this was so as to fulfill prophecy more like a
surrogate mother).

All humans including Eve came from Adam. Jesus was born from the womb of
a woman and was a seed of Adam but yet He was like another Adam that is
why He is also called the final/last Adam.

Let us know Christ from the Old Testament to really know Him. What we
read in the New Testament is very little of Him. Paul preached Christ
from the Old Testament and those who received this teaching did know Him
for real, thus were strong in faith.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord, Your Word became flesh and yet your people know little of You.
Lord we pray your people study your Word with the help of your Spirit so
that the Word is revealed to them by You and not by the understanding of
man...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Hebrew 6:20, 7:1-4
20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high
priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who
met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;
2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by
interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem,
which is, King of peace;
3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither
beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God;
abideth a priest continually.
4 Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch
Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.

Isaiah 53:7-8
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth:
he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her
shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his
generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the
transgression of my people was he stricken.

John 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to
the Son to have life in himself;

Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith
unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree
of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

John 1:18 No man [being] hath seen God at any time; the only begotten
Son, which is in the bosom [creek] of the Father, he hath declared him.

Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit
shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow
thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall
be called the Son of God.

John 2:4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine
hour is not yet come.

Be thee full of light

Luke 11:36 If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part
dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a
candle doth give thee light.

When one reads this scripture in various translations it does not give a
very clear message. The translations seem to say 'if we are full of
light having not part with darkness then our whole body will be full of
light as in a bright candle'. The fact that we need to first be full of
light not having any darkness in us to be bright as a candle does not
make sense.

When we get into the Greek words we find the first 'you' is not singular
but plural and the second 'you' is singular. Light symbolizes the plan
of God or the will of God and when we go against it, rebel against it or
resist it then we create darkness. Candle was a personal light giving
device used during that time.

In this scripture the Lord is telling us as a body, Church, if we
separate ourselves from things that go against the plan of God or
against the will of God then we as a body will be full of light and when
the Church is full of light then each one of us will be full of light
that shines bright.

The Lord is telling us that the people are not full of light because the
Churches have built bridges between God and the world. They are
compromising the will of God and pleasing the worldly people, even after
knowing one cannot serve two masters.

Let us as a body separate ourselves from worldly things and be a holy
body and when we do that we will see the people also full of light.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You are full of wisdom and nothing is hidden
from You. All your plans are light unto us for they are for our good.
When we reject your plan or do not walk in it we create darkness and
problems in our lives. Lord we pray as a body we learn to walk in your
plan so that all your people may be bless in every area of their lives...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of
the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall
have the light of life.

Matthew 6:23 But if thine eye [vision] be evil, thy whole body shall be
full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness,
how great is that darkness!

2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of
darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge
of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 5:
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are
not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are
drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate
of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by
our Lord Jesus Christ,

Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the
one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise
the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

John 8:23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above:
ye are of this world; I am not of this world.

John 9:5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

He comes in the middle of the night

Matthew 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the
bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

In the parable of the 10 virgins we see when they were asleep in the
night then suddenly they heard the shout that the Bridegroom is come, so
come out and behold Him.

Last time I sent a message on the parable of the virgins, a brother who
knew me from many years was upset with it. He told me he had heard 7
different teaching on that parable but mine he had not heard and thus
was upset. The 7 different teachings were acceptable to him because it
came from well-known preachers.

In the parable people do not get into the word study. The oil mentioned
is specifically as olive oil and olive oil symbolizes testimony of God's
people. The parable mentions the women as virgins, meaning they had no
(spiritual) relationship with anyone else; they were devout to the Lord.
Also midnight / middle of the night is symbolic to people being
spiritually asleep. The Greek word lamp means to shine. The things we do
here for the Lord's Kingdom (i.e. testimonies we get) is valued in
Heaven and we receive spiritual riches there.

In the end days even the spiritual mature are going to be taken by
surprise for they too will be caught unaware. The deception is going to
be so great that there will be hardly a handful which will be awake in
those days.

Let us not be counted among those caught asleep, let us not follow the
crowd but follow the Word of God. Even if we are among the very few, to
the extent of standing alone, so let it be. It is better to be standing
alone with the Lord than to be among a large crowd and not with the Lord.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord you are Almighty God and You desire people to worship You in Spirit
and Truth. You Lord created us to be a light in the darkness and You
gave your Word to be a light within us. Lord we pray we understand the
value of your Word and hold on unto it. We pray we grow in discernment
and in boldness and that we do not fear persecution due to witnessing
the Truth...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets,
and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were
possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

1 Timothy 5:21 I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and
the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one
before another, doing nothing by partiality.

Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which
leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Matthew 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell
that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in
heaven: and come and follow me.

James 5:7-8
7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold,
the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath
long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord
draweth nigh.

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

Being in Christ

John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the
world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds
were evil.

Almost every Christian knows John 3:16 and confesses it. Many misuse it
as a green ticket to not become a true Christian. They state that God
loves everyone in the world and thus gave His only begotten Son, that
whosoever believes Him should not perish, and that person will enjoy
everlasting life (salvation).

They lose the whole gravity of the verse by removing or nullifying as
small word 'in'. We find in many places the translators deliberately
changes the context of this word so as to change the condition of salvation.

The Greek word is eis and is translated as into, unto, to, for, among.
It is a primary preposition and its position is stated in Acts 2:38. The
word can be equated to baptism.

The word Baptizo has multiple rendering like cleaning by dipping, dyeing
process and even making of pickle (vegetables immersed in salt water).
In all of its renderings we see the thing that is dipped loses its own
characteristics takes on the characteristics of that which it is
immersed in.

Being baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ does not mean the person
chants the word 'Jesus' like some people do in other religions chanting
the name of their gods. Name means identification or characteristics of
that person. When we are called to be baptized in the name of Jesus
Christ it means we need to lose our own identity and take on the
identity of Christ. This is not an instant process but a gradual process.

Christian is not a person free of sin but free from the consequence or
penalty of sin, but for this he or she needs to be in the process of
baptism in Christ. The person needs to be engaged in a battle against
sin, overcoming it not fighting sin (say by penance) but fighting it by
doing good, for by this way sin nature is overcome and then sin will not
exist. Fighting sin is like assuming to put of a fire by fight its
smoke. Fire needs to be overcome by water, which does not give fire its
resources to keep burning.

When we read John 3:17-21, it says people who love Christ and believe in
Him will love light and will reject darkness, but those who love
darkness will reject light for they fear their deeds will be exposed.
They know what they are doing is wrong yet they do not want to
acknowledge it before God and correct it.

Peter says those who repent for their sins and are baptized in the Name
of Jesus will receive the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit none can
go to Heaven. God says 'not by My power nor by My strength but by My
spirit'. It is the Holy Spirit who completes our baptism in Jesus Christ
when we get baptized in Him. It is the Holy Spirit who makes us
Christian, we do not become Christians by just believing about the
person named Jesus and how good He was, or the good things He did.

It is only through faith we receive grace and that faith needs to be
kept burning always. Those who do not keep the faith fall and lose
grace. Works of faith means to keep the faith burning. Works of faith
are done outside us for the results to be seen within us. A person who
does not reach out unto others does not qualify be a Christian and may
not qualify as 'saved'.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Love and love is not something that is one can keep or
exercise with oneself. Thus we need to reach out to others to show we
have love within us and we are your children. Lord we pray all those who
receive You may also work to keep holding on to You, that they do not
fall in their faith and thus lose You. We pray they do not overcome You
but overcome themselves...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 3:16-21
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but
that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not
is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the
only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and
men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to
the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be
made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one
of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye
shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Song of Solomon 6:5a Turn away thine eyes from me, for they have
overcome me:

The Prophetic Journey

Mark 10:32 And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus
went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were
afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things
should happen unto him,

In today's message we read about one of the Passover where Jesus was
eagerly leading His disciples to Jerusalem. Scripture says they were
taken back and this was because a few days back they had fled from
Jerusalem since the Jews there sought to kill them. Jesus took this risk
so that He could explain to them what was in store for Him in the future
(this was more like a prophetic tour).

Let us look at the reasons why the Jews sought to kill Jesus and His
disciples and caused them to flee Jerusalem. The main reason was Jesus
calmed to be (as per English translations) Son of God. They accused Him
of blasphemy for this claim (the meant they could stone Him to death for
this).

What we understand from the English translation is not actually correct.
In the Bible we also are called to be sons of God. In most places it is
actually children of God leaving for two scriptures in Romans where Paul
actually uses the term Sons of God. If we are to become Sons of God do
we become equivalent to Jesus?

In the Bible the term Sons of God is also used for the Angels as well as
Adam since they were created directly by God. We including Eve come from
Adam (she too was created of Adam). Son of God does not only mean just
being created (directly) by God but also means having the perfect image
of God. Eve was created from the bone (symbolizes character) of Adam
(who was made in the image of God). Even though in spirit we all are
made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27) yet in the natural we come from
Eve. Since Adam and Eve saw corruption due to sin, we too inherited this
corruption / sin nature (Genesis 5:2).

But by us accepting the sacrifice of Jesus Christ we not only receive
forgiveness of sins we also receive the (promise of) Holy Spirit and it
the Holy Spirit who works on the corruption in us. Our baptism in the
Holy Spirit causes us to hate the sin nature and we start to battle sin
(nature - old man) within us. The rebirth (transformation) of our
corrupt spirit by the help of God the Holy Spirit makes us a new
creature of God / Son of God. Through this transformation we land up
disconnecting ourselves from Adam and connecting to Jesus Christ (since
we receive His Spirit).

Jesus was indeed born of Mary who descended from Adam that technically
makes Jesus a seed of Eve but since she was a virgin and He was not born
of a relationship of man, He was another Adam (therefore called 'second
Adam') created in the womb of Mary (not born of her egg, that is why He
called her 'woman' as well as 'mother' - since she was like a surrogate
mother to Him).

Coming back to today's message, Jesus was not accused of blasphemy
because He called Himself Son of God. If we look at the scripture in
Greek in the manuscripts we read 'Son the God'. Jesus did not claim just
Son of God but claimed being God (the Son) and that is why He was
accused of blasphemy. We see in the same scripture He went on to
challenge the thinking of the Jews by quoting Psalms 82:6 which states
we too will one day become 'gods'. That does not mean we become
equivalent to God the Father. It means in Heaven we will become part of
the Son (via our marriage to Him), who in turn returns to be united (in
glory) again with the Father.

Today's message tells us Jesus knew of His journey thus did not fear,
and boldly took it, we too should know our journey and when we do that,
we too will boldly take it even knowing there will be problems on the way.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You alone are God, You god are one yet You are not addressed
singular but plural. A part of You humbled and became man so that man
could become a part of You. Lord we pray open our minds to see your
plans so that we fearlessly take this journey set before us...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

The End Times

Matthew 24: 36, 37 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the
angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noe were, so
shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Today if you want crowd for a session, just announce the topic is about
'end times' and you will see a large crowd.

Day in and day out we hear leaders shouting hoarse that the end is at
hand and soon Jesus will be visible coming on the clouds up in the sky.
This has been going on for years and years, yet they continue.

If we look at Jehovah's Witnesses, the founder predicted a date, wrote
books on it and nothing happened; then changed the date and again wrote
books and again nothing happened; and this did others in the group and
the only thing that happened is their books got sold, people joined the
sect and people got deceived. Even after these failures Jehovah's
Witnesses are not complaining.

Yes the Bible does not mention the exact time when the end will come and
Jesus having humbled Himself and become man did not cheat by keeping His
divine power and knowledge. As man He manifested the power of the Holy
Spirit (which you and I also received) and as man He also studied
scriptures and grew in wisdom (which you and I also do), so only if the
day and hour was written would He or the Angels know.

Does that mean the end can come any time? NO

Although Jesus said no man or being (other than the Father) knows when
the end will come, yet He goes on to say it will be like the days of
Noah. Now if we look at Noah, although God said He would bring the
floods that would destroy mankind yet Noah knew one thing that this
flood would not come until he finished the Ark which the Lord had told
him to make.

Even when Paul was asked time and again by the people of Thessalonica if
the end is at hand, he was very confident it was not. This is what we
read in his letters.

We need to get it into us, unless we fulfill the mission God has given
unto us the end will not come.

What the worldly people are doing by shouting hoarse is actually
fulfilling prophecy which states they will shout until one day they stop
believing it and start saying everything is well, it is at that time the
end will come suddenly. Jesus said it will come as a thief who comes
when the people of the house are asleep and not when they are awake. So
end will not come when there is turmoil but only when there exist a
false peace.

Like Moses fulfilled the Word of God so did Pharaoh. Let us not be
counted among the 'Pharaoh' lot. We may not know the hour but at least
the day / season is been given in scriptures. Let us be like Paul who
although preached about being ready for the end, was aware of the signs
that led to the end.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Omnipresent God and nothing is hidden from You, time is not
a factor for You. Lord we pray instead of looking in the sky waiting for
You to arrive, we concentrate on fulfill that which is asked of us, so
that You come quickly. We pray we be among those who stand with You in
your coming...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Matthew 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth
come.

Matthew 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour
wherein the Son of man cometh.

Mark 13:32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the
angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

1 Thessalonians 5: 2-3
2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a
thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction
cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not
escape.

2 Thessalonians 2:
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by
spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ
is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come,
except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed,
the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or
that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God,
shewing himself that he is God.
5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now
letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume
with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of
his coming:

Healing the unrighteousness of mankind

Luke 23:23 And they were instant with loud voices, requiring that he
might be crucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priests
prevailed.

To really study about the Lord Jesus Christ one needs to refer more to
the Old Testament than the New Testament. Bible says Paul preached about
Christ from the Old Testament and many of the Jews accepted Him. It was
these people who became the strong, resilient Church that withstood
unspeakable persecution for the Truth was in them.

It is sad people become disciples of Paul and do not become like Paul a
true disciple of Christ. They study the letters of Paul but do not try
to understand scriptures (OT) like Paul did. So after years and years
you will continue to find them like grownups still hand fed by their mother.

Today's message talks of a part of the events of the Lord's Paschal
sacrifice where He is set against another person who is a criminal named
Barabbas. The name Barabbas means 'son of the father' and we have Jesus
who is Son of the Father. So between the two sons one is sought to be
set free and the one to be killed. The people chose the unrighteous one
to be set free and the righteous one to be killed.

In the Old Testament we see leprosy is considered a grave sickness not
just because it was one of the worse medical sicknesses, but more
because it symbolically and spiritually represents unrighteousness which
is a serious spiritual sickness. Jesus did not follow the Jewish law
(law in the natural without understanding) of keeping distant from the
lepers who were declared as unclean. In the OT if anyone so much so
touched a leper he too would be declared unclean and quarantined for
about a period. Jesus having true understanding of the spiritual
uncleanliness healed them from their root (spiritually).

We as a whole mankind who believe in the Lord's sacrifice are also
cleansed of our unrighteousness by the Lord's sacrifice and today's
message is a confirmation of that, provided we also do the remaining of
the sacrifice as per OT. In the book of Leviticus we read the Lord told
them to take two birds, cedar wood, scarlet and Hyssop. They were told
to kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water and set
the other free. The priest would then sprinkle blood of the sacrificed
bird seven times on the unclean person to pronounce him clean. But the
person was yet not considered clean until he or she washes oneself and
lives in a tent for seven days after shaving every pervious hair on the
body. Only after this were they considered clean.

In the Lord sacrifice the following things were present.

The two birds - Jesus and Barabbas

Cedar wood - the Romans used permanent crucifixes (not made of wood) for
crucifixion but since all were occupied they made a make shift crucifix
of wood for Jesus that is why He alone was made to carry a crucifix. The
Hebrew word for cedar means to be strong, wood symbolizes flesh and so
together it means to be strong in the human body. The cedar wood has a
property to resist infection.

Scarlet - this was the color which was created from a dead insect. The
color was considered a symbol of being virtuous thus religious dresses
were dyed with it. It represents baptism - dying and coming anew (the
Greek word comes from a process used for dyeing clothes).

Hyssop - a plant that was thin yet very strong - symbolized faith.

Earthen vessel - when Jesus died the whole place was darkened even
though it was day time, it was as someone suddenly covered the place. It
was not an eclipse (the Romans and Jews were aware of that phenomenon,
they were recorded as being afraid when this happened); one such
historian stated it was experienced globally and mentioned even in
Chinese documents.

Seven times / seven days - seven numerically symbolized wholeness of the
Spirit - seven Spirits of the Lord; that is why it is called a cardinal
number.

Blood - in Hebrew has the same word as sacrifice so refers less to the
fluid and more to the act.

Water - when the soldiers pierced Jesus water gushed out from His side.

For mankind to be made righteous we need to believe in the sacrifice of
the Lord Jesus Christ. He was killed and we were set free. We need to
exercise, unshakable faith in the sacrifice. This sacrifice needs to
effected not only in spirit but also in the natural thus we need to live
it, not just believe it. We need to get rid of all the unrighteousness
we exercised before our believing, that means be baptized in Christ to
become a new creation. We are declared righteous but will be truly
righteous when we are totally renewed in the Holy Spirit.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are a Righteous God. Nothing unrighteous can dwell in your
glorious presence, that is why You exiled man out of the Upper Heavens
and You humbled yourself, giving up your glory to become man, to be a
sacrifice and to make man righteous again. Lord we pray we understand
the importance of your sacrifice and relish it every moment. We pray we
complete the whole process in our lives so as to stand with the sheep on
Judgment Day...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Leviticus 14:2-9
2 This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing: He
shall be brought unto the priest:
3 And the priest shall go forth out of the camp; and the priest shall
look, and, behold, if the plague of leprosy be healed in the leper;
4 Then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed
two birds alive and clean, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop:
5 And the priest shall command that one of the birds be killed in an
earthen vessel over running water:
6 As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the
scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the
blood of the bird that was killed over the running water:
7 And he shall sprinkle upon him that is to be cleansed from the
leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the
living bird loose into the open field.
8 And he that is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off
all his hair, and wash himself in water, that he may be clean: and after
that he shall come into the camp, and shall tarry abroad out of his tent
seven days.
9 But it shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair
off his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair he shall
shave off: and he shall wash his clothes, also he shall wash his flesh
in water, and he shall be clean.

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

Does God change the law?

1 Samuel 2:30 Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed
that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for
ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me
I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

If we look at today's message it seems to be of two parts

'I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk
before me for ever'

'for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall
be lightly esteemed'

The first reaction looking at these two sentences is that they are
opposite in nature and God has changed the commandment /law drastically.

Contradicting correction of change is made when the giver of the law was
not aware of the consequences or when the people had to be made aware of
the grace they lost.

If one minutely studies the scripture the word 'should walk' in Hebrew
is in tense Hithpael which is a reflexive action which means the person
needs to do it himself. So when God said 'thy house would walk before
me' it meant they had to make all the efforts of walking before the Lord
themselves.

When we look at the words 'honour me' in 'for them that honour me I will
honour' the Hebrew tense is Piel which is described as intentional. So
here God is looking at the intention more than the result.

After understanding both the sentences we see God did not change the law
but added grace to it, for He moved from man making efforts himself to
get result to just looking at the intention of man.

God's Law has always been the same in principle, what has changed is
that grace has been added time and again since man has always proved to
be weak. Our God is merciful God even though the judgment seems harsh
yet the terms are graceful. The Covenant was started with Noah and
changed at various stages through Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David
and lastly Jesus. Even though Jesus talks of a great judgment on
Judgment Day yet He is the source of abundant grace. He does not demand
result but says He will derive the result from us provided we just
accept Him and surrender to His Spirit.

All other religions demand result but the True God asks only for
intention to be clear, He understands our weakness and states He will be
our strength.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are a Merciful God, You dare us to call You Father and those
who do, You bring under your wings of grace. Lord we thank You for the
abundance mercy we receive from You especially through your Son our Lord
Jesus Christ. Lord we pray we set our hearts right and surrender unto You...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 3:17-21

Hebrews 7:22 by so much also hath Jesus become the surety of a better
covenant.

Holy place

Acts 21:28 Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that
teacheth all men every where against the people, and the law, and this
place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath
polluted this holy place.

As a Catholic it was normal for me to be exposed to things like holy
water, holy oil, holy bread, holy candle, and so on… it was like a list
of a grocery store. Being an altar boy I have many a times seen the
elaborate ceremonies done and prayers recited to make an object holy. As
a Believer all these were not alien, even among believers many
denominations partly follow these.

In the OT things concerning the Tabernacle or concerning the sacrifices
were considered holy or sanctified. They were objects that were used
exclusively for religious purposes, the objects did not change or
transform but what changed was the utility of the object. OT is a shadow
so all these things are symbolic. Thus things like kissing a sanctified
object or bowing to it is not in line with the term sanctification.

When God asked His people to be holy it meant they do not pollute
themselves with alien or impure beliefs, rituals, deeds etc., it was not
about not mixing with unbelievers.

In today's message Paul was accused of making a holy place unholy. Paul
had broken the guideline set by the people for utility of that place and
thus was accused of unholy activity.

Today's message speaks of holiness according to God and according to
man. The Lord is asking us are we pursuing the holiness of man or the
holiness of God. The holiness of man is in more in rituals, fleshy and
worldly things, the holiness of God is purely spiritual. Utility of
objects can be respected but true holiness is purely in the spirit and
exclusively concerning to man among all the earthly creatures.

In today's message Paul did not degrade the holiness of God but did that
of man and we see they are based on the law - Law of God and law of man.
Abiding in the law of God is holiness of God and abiding in the law of
man is holiness of man. We can break the later provided we do not break
the former, but we are called to abide in both.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Holy God. Bible says nothing corrupt can exist before You
so for the sake of the corrupt You have separated yourself, thus it is
written no being has seen You leaving for the Son. Lord we pray we
overcome this corruption and are sanctified so that we along with the
beings of Heaven may see and dwell with and in You...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Exodus 13:2 Sanctify unto me all the first-born, whatsoever openeth the
womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.

Exodus 19:10 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and
sanctify them to-day and to-morrow, and let them wash their garments,

Exodus 19:22 And let the priests also, that come near to Jehovah,
sanctify themselves, lest Jehovah break forth upon them.

Exodus 3:5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from
off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.

Exodus 16:23 And he said unto them, This is that which Jehovah hath
spoken, To-morrow is a solemn rest, a holy sabbath unto Jehovah: bake
that which ye will bake, and boil that which ye will boil; and all that
remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.

Matthew 24:15 When therefore ye see the abomination of desolation,
which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy
place (let him that readeth understand),

Mark 8:38 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this
adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of man also shall be ashamed
of him, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

Luke 4:34 Ah! what have we to do with thee, Jesus thou Nazarene? art
thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

John 1: 18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son,
which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

Messenger of tribulation

Acts 11:28 And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by
the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world:
which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.

People think all Men of God come with good news and blessings and that
is reason why the Church is not growing for Men of God are not
correcting or building a strong foundation, they are pleasing the people.

Just last week I went to preach in a Church (main stream church) and I
was sentimentally wanting to deliver a great message which they will
love me for, but then the Lord gave me such a message which I myself
have difficulty preparing for. It was very technical and deep into
theology and historical study. They being a Church in a poor area with
mostly less educated people I tried my best to deliver this message in
the most suitable way I could.

Even before going to the place I wonder why God gave me such a message,
I thought people out there were very strong in their biblical knowledge,
but that was not the case. After I finished the message the Pastor
approached me and tried to correct me and when I heard him I was
astonished. He spoke of 3 different Gospels in the Bible and also stated
Jesus' coming again were multiple, one was a close coming where He
appears but does not really arrive and another where He does arrive.
After hearing this I was totally disappointed but then I realized God
wanted to expose the foundation of that Pastor and I was used for that.

In today's message we find a Man of God named Agabus which in Hebrew is
translated as "a messenger of tribulation" was inspired by the Holy
Spirit to declare about a great famine which was to take place. This
famine covered a large part of the Roman Empire, there are mentions of
this famine in various historical records and in one it states Helena,
queen of the Adiabeni called for corn to be bought from Egypt and
distributed among the poor of Judea.

Agabus is the same person who also declared the dreadful martyrdom of
Paul. Some state Agabus was among the seventy that Jesus Christ sent out
to witness without any belongings. Agabus is like Jeremiah or Joel of
the OT who were used mostly for correction of the people of God. They
were feared more than revered by the people.

The Church is not growing for it lacks Men of God like Agabus, Jeremiah
or Joel; it is filled with people pleasers than God pleasers. Men of God
are compromising the message because they look at man as their provider.
Even if we have to starve and die let it be so, but let us not make God
a liar; let God be true and man a liar.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Holy and Righteous God. You Lord do not change your
principles for man. You humbled yourself and became man but your Nature
remained the same and this was manifested in the flesh in Christ. Lord
we pray we have Men of God like Agabus, Jeremiah, Joel, Nathan, Samuel,
Gad etc. who did not please man and were feared, even though they came
as hard people yet they remained true to the Kingdom of God. We pray Men
of God of today be feared more than revered...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Romans 3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as
it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and
mightest overcome when thou art judged.

1 Corinthians 3:11-15
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is
Jesus Christ.
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious
stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare
it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every
man's work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall
receive a reward.
15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he
himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Remember the Poor
March 8, 2017

Read: Galatians 2:6-10

Only, they asked us to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do.
(v. 10)

When Paul visited the apostles, they needed to make sure they were in
agreement on a core gospel principle. They discussed a heady theological
topic: did
Gentiles need to become Jews first before becoming Christian? Did they need
to follow the old ceremonial laws that had long distinguished God’s people
from all others? After much discussion they decided that no, Christ was the
new reality now, and Gentiles could become Christ’s followers without first
needing to become Jewish.

Like many church discussions, this question was likely the center of
attention for a while. Theological arguments can consume a lot of energy.
Indeed,
sometimes they can consume so much energy that the church may not have a lot
of juice left to devote to other issues, including important ministries like
caring for the poor.

That’s why the final verse about the Jerusalem conversation is so wonderful.
Yes, they all agreed theologically. But before they adjourned the meeting,
someone said “Let’s not forget the poor in all this!” Paul could not have
agreed more. It serves as a reminder to us today that no matter how certain
we
are to get all our theology straight, if in the end we are perfectly
orthodox but ignore those who need our help, then we are forgetting one of
the biggest
things Jesus ever wanted us to do in the first place. —Scott Hoezee

Prayer: Help us always, O Jesus, to remember the least of these among us.
Words of Hope

Lamp and Oil

Matthew 25:3,4 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil
with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

To understand the parable of the 10 virgins we need to take clues of the
words Jesus spoke. Like Jesus said in verse 12 'Verily I say unto you, I
know you not', these are the same words He uses in Matthew 7:21-23 to
those who are Believers but have not done the will of the Father.

What is the will of the Father?

Jesus in Matthew 18:14 and Galatians 1:14 clearly says the will of the
Father is that His people do not perish. We as Christians are called to
do the will of the Father. That means when we receive the salvation of
the Lord Jesus Christ we are called to share that message of salvation
with others so that they too receive and extend unto others, that way
all who are His will come unto Him.

The foolish virgins had their lamps full of oil, they were the ones who
were concern only of themselves, but the wise virgins even though their
lamps were full they carried extra oil, they were those who thought more
than themselves.

Understand as Christians one cannot be selfish or self-centered. We are
called to be Christians - Christ like that means to connect to others
who have their names in the Book of Life. Since we do not know whose
names are written and whose is not, we are called to reach out to all.
It is the seed of faith in them that will confirm if they are of His flock.

Let us also remember we may be standing on stages and gathering crowd in
His name but that does not confirm we have added people to His Kingdom.
We may even be Pastors of large congregation yet it is not a
confirmation we have added a soul to His Kingdom. Adding a soul to His
Kingdom is confirmed by the change of heart of a person and the person's
surrender to the Lord. Most Preachers, Men of God make disciple for
themselves by their gifting but rarely make disciples for Christ. The
litmus test for this is when you find the same people around a Man of
God always and the Man of God does not send them out on their own to
make their own lots like Jesus did to His disciples.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Father unto your people, You are their creator, protector
and provider. You care for them and desire they return to You. Lord we
pray we as Christians realize we are called to connect to each other so
that none are lost. We pray we look beyond our earthly families and set
our eyes on our Heavenly family...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Matthew 25:1-13

Matthew 7:21-23
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the
kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in
heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied
in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done
many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me,
ye that work iniquity.

Matthew 18:14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in
heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

Galatians 1:4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us
from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

Matthew 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost
sheep of the house of Israel.

Mark 1:17 And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make
you to become fishers of men.

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

Topic: +DEV+ More Than 500 Witnesses

More Than 500 Witnesses

"...he appeared to Peter and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep." (1 Corinthians 15:5-6)
Scripture Focus: 1 Corinthians 15:3-22

The essence of the Christian faith is rooted not merely in what happened when the Lord died, in the beautiful sacrifice He made for the sins of humanity. Certainly, the time Christ spent on earth proclaiming the Good News of His grace has affected people all throughout history. Some see Him as a great role model for love and peace, others a wise teacher unfairly executed. But the heart of the Christian faith has been the literal heart beat of what happened after His death.

It was after His lungs collapsed and heart stopped that something truly unprecedented occurred: the once-dead man became alive again and actually walked those same dusty roads not just once, but for forty days, God in human
flesh. He visited with friends in a garden, chatted with them on the road or in their apartments, even cooked breakfast for them on the beach.

Why did Jesus, the God-Man, spend 40 days after His death appearing to over 500 people? To establish His new body! And now He establishes His new kingdom in our hearts.

Insight: Paul writes that if Christ wasn't raised from the dead, our faith is useless. how can Christ's resurrection affect your faith today?

The Just Judge is coming to take the seat

Luke 18:4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within
himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;

Today is Resurrection Day and all are celebrating the Resurrection of
the Lord Jesus Christ on the third day.

We all know He resurrected around Sunday noon but what most do not give
attention to is as to why did Jesus resurrect on the third day? Hell
does not have earthly day and night that Jesus had to wait there for 2
days to pass. Earth (our creation), Hell and Heaven are not separated by
distance that it takes time for anyone to travel between them.

After resurrection Jesus did not allow Mary Magdalene to touch Him and
the reason He gave was that He had not ascended to the Father yet. But
in the same day in the evening He appears to the Apostles and allowed
all to touch Him.

In the OT the final sacrifice was the sprinkling of blood in the Holy of
Holies and that Jesus did after He resurrected. His death and
resurrection was part of all the sacrifices He did and it was to break
curse of death (Hell) in our lives, for now anyone who believes in Him
will not go to Hell, irrespective of how much he or she has sinned. Also
before His ascended to Heaven and returned to appear to the Apostles
that evening, He took a walk into the wilderness where He had an
encounter with Cephas and his co-traveller, this walk was necessary for
by it He completed another sacrifice [after resurrection He could walk
through walls so walk was symbolic]. Right after the breaking of bread
[Last Supper] on start of the Passover week to Resurrection Day each and
every sacrifice needed for the salvation of man was completed. On the
Cross He completed the availability for all the sacrifices from His part
thus said 'it is finished'.

Coming back to the reason Jesus resurrected on the third day. All would
say it was related to the sign of Jonah but they do not realize that
Jesus said that the sign of Jonah was for the wicked generation, that
means Jonah came out of the belly of fish after 3 days was not a good
sign. Had Jesus resurrected after 3 days then His whole purpose of
coming as man, including all that He did on the Cross would have been
useless. His resurrection on the third day, before 3 days got over was a
sign and a confirmation of His coming back before man perishes. It has
to do with the spirit life span of man. So all those who hoped in Him
from the time He walked on earth, even if they die their natural death
they will not perish but live to see Him come again in His glory
(including those from the time of Noah for the covenant was started with
Noah and completed in Christ).

Let us not just rejoice today for He has resurrected, but more so
rejoice He resurrected on the third day before the day ended. Now we are
not only saved from Hell (its suffering and death) but know that He will
come again to take us to Heaven to live eternally before we perish.

Today's message talks of an unjust judge who responded to a plea not out
of a genuine mercy to the widow but out of irritation. People try this
approach also with God thus pray for long duration, hours, days, months
and even years for a pray to be answered. Jesus said even though the
Lord may answer it like the unjust judge did but then He raised a very
important question, will the Just Judge find faith when He comes? Let
our prayer be full of faith so that we do not need to pray for long for
anything.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord, You are a Righteous yet Merciful God. The price for sin had to be
paid, although man sinned yet You saved him by paying the price
yourself. Word says each one has to pay for their own sins but removing
man from the sinners list You saved him from the punishment. Lord we
thank You not only for saving us from Hell where we would have suffered
our sins but also for your resurrection on the third day to confirm
before life is lost You will come again to Judge and take us to Heaven.

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen

[Reference Scriptures]

Matthew 16:4A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and
there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas.
And he left them, and departed.

Luke 18:3-8

3And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying,
Avenge me of mine adversary.

4And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself,
Though I fear not God, nor regard man;

5Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her
continual coming she weary me.

6And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.

7And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto
him, though he bear long with them?

8I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son
of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

John 20:13-17

13And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them,
Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have
laid him.

14And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus
standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.

15Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She,
supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have
borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.

16Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him,
Rabboni; which is to say, Master.

17Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my
Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my
Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

Matthew 16:28Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which
shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his
kingdom.

Happy Resurrection Day to one and all!

Enraged with Tyre and Sidon

Acts 12:20And Herod was highly displeased [enraged] with them of Tyre
and Sidon: but they came with one accord to him, and, having made
Blastus the king's chamberlain their friend, desired peace; because
their country was nourished by the king's country.

We read in today's message Herod was enraged with the two cities of Tyre
and Sidon [OT Zidon], the word used to show the feeling is noted only
here in the whole NT and literately mean 'to meditate war'.

These two cities are the most infamous cities in the OT. In Ezekiel 28
Satan (plural) [Lucifer / Serpent and the Beast] are noted as king and
prince of Tyre. Tyre means small rock and symbolizes half-truth or
incomplete truth. Satan is called the father of lies and he/they being
most shrewd do not completely lie, he/they mix lies with little truth
and that was the trick used on Eve to get Adam. Satan is the father of
doubt and destroys God's people by implanting doubt in their minds.

Sidon / Zidon means hunting for provision and was a prosperous kingdom,
a little distant from Tyre. Although this kingdom had its own king yet
it was many a times was like a tributary to the kings of Tyre. In
spiritual terms it symbolizes those who seek worldly prosperity and the
main reason they do this because they lack complete knowledge of the Truth.

Just a few days back a brother was sharing how in a Whatsapp Pastors'
group he spoke against those who seek worldly prosperity and how many of
the Pastors got upset with him and openly rebuked him saying he did not
know the Word of God. So using scriptures he shut them referring to how
Jesus told Nicodemus that he would enter the kingdom of God only after
he gave away a large part of his wealth and how Jesus told the rich man
to give away all his wealth and follow Him.

In Matthew 11 Jesus said even those in the worldly Tyre and Sidon of the
OT would have changed had they experienced His work among them.

God is telling us in today's message He is surely going to punish Satan
and his lot, and along with them He is going to punish those who use
God's Kingdom to gain worldly pleasures. In the name of blessings they
seek their carnal desires.

God does give us abundance of His Kingdom which is not of this world,
Paul also advices us to be sober in our natural being, in our worldly
desires.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Spirit and You Lord desire us to walk in spirit and truth.
You commanded we overcome this world, its worldly understanding and
worldly desires. Lord we pray that many of those who know You are misled
to seek the pleasures of this world in the name of blessings. Lord may
they know the difference between needs and wants. Also we pray they
understand that the desires which You promised will meet in abundance is
those which are related to the Kingdom of God and things of the spirit
world...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Ezekiel 28

Matthew 11:20-25

20Then he went on to say hard things to the towns where most of his
works of power were done, because they had not been turned from their sins.

21Unhappy are you, Chorazin! Unhappy are you, Beth-saida! For if the
works of power which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon,
they would have been turned from their sins in days gone by, clothing
themselves in haircloth and putting dust on their heads.

22But I say to you, It will be better for Tyre and Sidon in the day of
judging, than for you.

23And you, Capernaum, were you not to be lifted up to heaven? you will
go down into hell: for if the works of power which were done in you had
been done in Sodom, it would have been here to this day.

24But I say to you that it will be better for the land of Sodom in the
day of judging, than for you.

25At that time Jesus made answer and said, I give praise to you, O Father,

1 Thessalonians 5:5-9

5Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are
not of the night, nor of darkness.

6Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

7For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are
drunken in the night.

8But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of
faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

9For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our
Lord Jesus Christ,

Now we can enter the Temple without fear

Matthew 1:8 And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram
begat Ozias;

The world celebrates Good Friday as the day when Jesus was crucified
even though Biblically Jesus was crucified on Thursday in the evening
[He was arrested after celebrating the first day of the Passover week
[which was on a Jewish Sabbath / Saturday]. After that He was kept for 5
days going from one court to another and being punished by both the Jews
and the Romans. Thus on Thursday evening the day before the actual
Passover / High Sabbath [which was on Friday] He was killed as the
Paschal Lamb. He then resurrected on Sunday exact on the 3rd day as
foretold.

Today's message talks of a section of the genealogy of Jesus and a very
interesting recording that is of Joram begat Ozias.

Firstly Ozias was not the actual son of Joram, between them there were 3
generations / kings Ahaziah, Joash, and Amaziah. It was not uncommon in
Jewish tradition to omit generations in between i.e. in Ezr 7:3, Azariah
is called the son of Meraioth, although it is evident, from 1Ch 6:7-9,
that there were six descendants between them. Matthew took this
information from the Jewish public records which were not very accurate;
the Talmud speaks of such deficient recordings.

Secondly Ozias was Uzziah the king who dared to enter the temple to burn
incense [which symbolizes worship] and was struck with leprosy until his
death. In the OT only a Priest was allowed to enter the temple.

In today's message the Lord is telling us even though our forefathers
may have not known the Lord and were not saved yet the Lord chose us to
be saved. He is also telling us, before we were not eligible to enter
His courts because of our unrighteousness [leprosy symbolizes
unrighteousness] and would die but now Christ by His death has taken the
wrath of God on Himself made peace between God and man, by being called
His brethren we become Priests and by His righteousness we are made
eligible to enter the Holy place [Heaven].

We should also remember as Priest we need serve the Lord; how can we be
called Priest if we do not serve Him.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord, You are Holy God and nothing unholy can dwell before You. You are
a Righteous God and nothing unrighteous can dwell before You. We by our
sins were not eligible to come before You Lord, Yet You Lord choose us
from among our ancestors and make us eligible by paying the price for
our fault and also gave us your Spirit so help us serve You as Royal
Priests. We thank You Lord for making us eligible. We pray we always
remember this and not take it for granted...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Chronicles 26:16 -21

2 Chronicles 35:17And the children of Israel that were present kept the

Mark 14:1After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened
bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take
him by craft, and put him to death.

John 19: 31 Since it was the preparation day, the Jews did not want the
bodies to remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a
special day). They requested that Pilate have the men's legs broken and
that /their bodies/ be taken away.

Colossians 2:16For this reason let no man be your judge in any question
of food or drink or feast days or new moons or Sabbaths:

Faithful to the End

“For great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, and let your glory be over all the earth” (Psalm 108:4-5).

Scripture Focus: Psalm 108:1-6

Are you a child of God through faith in His Son? Then He has promised to be your ever-present help. He cannot fail, because He is God.

Celebrate God’s faithfulness

The Word of the Lord is right and true;
He is faithful in all He does.
The Lord loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of His unfailing love.

The Lord is faithful to all His promises
and loving toward all He has made.
Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the Lord his God…
The Lord, who remains faithful forever.

God’s unfailing promise to you

I will maintain My love to him forever,
and My covenant with him will never fail…
I will not take My love from him,
nor will I ever betray My faithfulness.

Psalms 33:4-5; 145:13; 146:5-6; 89:28-33

Insight: We've done nothing to deserve God's faithfulness to us, but we can praise Him for every proof of His unfailing love.

Satan is already judged

John 16:11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

One will find most Christians, not only those who are new in Christ but
even those who have since many years come into the Lord and claim to
know scriptures very well say Jesus defeated Satan on the Cross and He
won the battle. It is sad to hear this for they do not know the reason
Christ died on the Cross. It is these very people who pray prayers like
covering oneself with the blood of Jesus to claim protection from Satan.

Today's scripture was before Jesus died on the Cross and in it Jesus
says Satan is already judged.

Many including Christians have made Satan in to a god all because they
do not know him, as they do not know God, they may know Jesus but do not
know God. They have lifted Satan from a mere being created by God to
someone who is a formidable competition to God and can even defeat God
that God needs to battle him.

Christ did not come to defeat Satan. Satan (and his fellow fallen
angels) knew of their end even before man was created. The creation of
man was a confirmation of what was due for them and their hate for man
is for the reason man was to receive what they lost (and more). God made
man lower than the Angels so that with the weapon of Truth a mere man
will defeat the mighty Cherubs Lucifer, the Beast and the angels who
left their status in Heaven and whom we refer to as evil spirits [Satan
is a plural word].

Christ came to save us from God and not from Satan. Sin had caused us to
become enemies of God and thus the wrath of God was against us. Jesus
Christ by His sacrifice took the wrath of God on Himself [paid for our
sins] and thus made peace between God and man [those who believe in
Him]. By this peace we were able to receive His Spirit and be
reinitiated to the Heavenly Family [The Heavenly Body - The Temple]. The
Blood of Christ protects us from God like the blood of the Paschal Lamb did.

A very interesting fact I came across of late is that spirit beings like
Angels are not killed or their life is not terminated like we die
natural death. When spirit beings did evil God being Righteous separated
them and kept them to face judgment. God in His wisdom created mere man
to judge them but for this man had to be lifted up and Christ by
becoming man helps us in this. Christ gave us authority to bind these
fallen angels (evil spirits) and chase them away, not destroy or kill
them. Jesus Christ could send them to Hell to be bound there.

Like I said in one of my previous messages when an unbelieving man dies
he or she is already judged and thus goes to Hell where they suffer
their sins until they finish their spirit life (which is in thousands of
years). Hell is a prison like place controlled by the Angels of God.

Lucifer and his whole lot after Judgment Day would not be killed but
bound and put in a place where they will suffer until the end of their
spirit life; they will become a testimony forever. Lake of Fire /
Sulphur [symbolic to understand how dreadful it will be] is place where
Satan and his whole lot along with those humans who accepted Christ but
rejected the Will of the Father will be put after Judgment.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord, You are Righteous yet Merciful God. You hate evil and no evil can
stand before your presence but in your wisdom You make a spectacle of
the consequence of evil. Lord You made man to be a testimony for the
Angels, to defeat the works of the fallen angels and judge them. Lord we
pray we realize the things You have set for us so that we overcome this
little suffering that we go through in this world. We also pray we
concentrate of defeating the works of Satan among man and not waste our
time behind Satan...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Ezekiel 28:1-19

Genesis 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of
us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take
also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

Matthew 22:30For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given
in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

John 1:51And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and
descending upon the Son of man.

Matthew 25:41Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart
from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and
his angels:

1 Timothy 5:21I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and
the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one
before another, doing nothing by partiality.

1 Corinthians 6:3aKnow ye not that we shall judge angels?

Hebrew 2:6-8, 22-23

6But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou
art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?

7Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with
glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:

8Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he
put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under
him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.

22But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God,
the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

23To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written
in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men
made perfect,

Immortality and Everlasting Life

Romans 6: 22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to
God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

If we look at other religions their gods are like humans they age and
grow old. These gods are not truly immortal for they can be poisoned or
killed; they carry weapons of death which they use against each other.
Bridging their understanding with the Bible someone made God to appear
as a young kid in a movie about Moses titled Exodus - gods and kings.

In the Bible we see when God made man the word man in Hebrew is Adam
[Adam did not have a name, he was called by his race] he was full of
life for the word comes from the root word 'reddish' meaning full of
life. But when sin manifested in the generations of Adam they saw
sickness for the first time and thus saw death manifest and that is the
reason Seth called his son Enos which means 'mortal man' and man started
calling on the Lord. Enos being mortal does not means Adam was immortal
and had the ability to live forever.

The Hebrew word for mortal is 'enowsh' and comes from the word 'anash'
which means weak. When we say immortal we think it is about having life
without and end, but Biblical it is not. The immortal understanding of
the Bible means fullness of life or life without blemish. Only God has
the ability to have life eternally within Himself and this He has given
this to His Son only.

Adam / man when created was immortal before he sinned, he also had the
resource to live forever all because he had access to Paradise / Eden /
Heaven. In Genesis and Revelation we read in both Paradise / Eden /
Heaven has the Tree of Life with its twelve Fruits [Fruits of the Holy
Spirit] and it is this Tree [not a real tree but earthly trees give us
an understanding of it] that gives the ability to live eternally [like
recharge]. When man sinned and corrupted he was driven out or denied
access to Eden/Paradise / Heaven thus the corruption made him not only
to lose his immortality but also bought the end of life [death] into
existence. Hell which was never for man was now a place where man was
going to be imprisoned after his natural death to await his spiritual
death, it is for this reason Hell is associated to death. In Hell the
corruption / sin in him would burn in / suffer him like never dying
burning coal / flesh eating worms [both symbolic] until his spiritual
death [which is in thousands of years].

We can study and know the spiritual life span of man from the many facts
given in the Bible; this will also help us understand approximately when
Jesus will come again and why He resurrected on the third day in spite
of fact that neither Heaven nor Hell has day or night cycle [His
resurrection on the third day is symbolic and a confirmation of His
coming again].

Paul confirms that in the end corrupt man will be made uncorrupt /
complete on Judgment Day [after being judged]. Interestingly this
corruption is to do with fruits. The fruit of sin makes us loose / kills
the Fruits of the Holy Spirit within us. When Adam sinned / by him
eating of the tree of Good and Bad [doubt] he lost the Fruit of Truth
and his disobedience lost him the Fruit of Righteousness, that is why he
came to know evil and nakedness [before that he was innocent to both
even though both existed].

Jesus paid the price for our sins so that we received the Spirit of
Truth who gives us the Fruit of Truth so that on Judgment Day we receive
the Fruit of Righteousness and are made complete to enter Heaven again
where we have access to the Tree of Life and thus able to live
eternally. It is Truth that sets us free from death.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are a Merciful God. Man looks at You come as man and die on the
crucifix for us but does not realize the reason of your mercy. They
mourn at your suffering but do not relish the fruit of your suffering.
They accept You as man Jesus but deny You as Spirit. Lord we pray they
understand the prime cause of your sacrifice is not just to be forgiven
of our sins but that we receive your Spirit so that we are made complete
and that Fruit of Truth in us will bring us to receive the Fruit of
Righteousness and thus access to eternal life...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Genesis 2:9And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree
that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also
in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Revelation 22:2In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of
the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve fruits, and
yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the
healing of the nations.

Revelation 22:14Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may
have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into
the city.

Genesis 4:26And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called
his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.

Genesis 2:25And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not
ashamed.

Genesis 3:7And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that
they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves
aprons.

John 5:26For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the
Son to have life in himself;

Ephesians 5:9(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness [holiness]
and righteousness and truth;)

1 Corinthians 15:54So when this corruptible shall have put on
incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall
be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in
victory.

He died outside the city

Acts 21:29 (For they had seen before with him in the city Trophimus an
Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.)

If one goes to a Sikh Gurudwara one has to cover their head else the
person is not allowed, the same is the case with entering a Muslim
Mosque. But there are places like a Zoroastrian Fire Temple where if a
person is not a Parsi (Zoroastrian) he or she would not be allowed in,
even those who is a Parsi but has married an outsider is not allowed in.

In the case with Jewish Synagogue there are many rules to enter in, like
washing before entering, covering the head with a kippah (small cap), no
carry policy (any object in the hand especially on the Sabbath), Jews
wear a tefillin which is a leather strap used to bind the arm when
praying (on week days)... these are just a few of the traditions of the
Jews, they say it is Biblical but like the Catholic beliefs are
misplaced understanding of scriptures. In short it is very easy to
identify a person in a Synagogue as a Jew or a non-Jew.

Jesus was born a Jew but was rejected by the Jewish people; scripture
says He died outside the city and not inside the city so that the
gentile may receive salvation which was primarily for the Jews. Had the
Jews not rejected Christ then possibly we would not have inherited the
Kingdom of God but today we thank God that Jesus died outside the city
for us.

A Christian is a person who believes and follows Christ so one cannot be
a Jew and be a Christian it would be like a person being a Hindu or
Muslim and still claiming to be a follower of Christ (Christian). A Jew
is a follower of Jewish traditions which goes against the Kingdom of God
thus both cannot fit in same box. A Jew need to reject Judaism to be a
Christian and cannot be identified by both.

It is sad Christians still run after Jews mistaking them for the
Israelites of the Bible. Paul in his letter to Romans takes lots of pain
to explain a Biblical Jew is not the Jew of this world, he gives
examples like a Biblical Jew is one who is circumcised in the heart and
not in the flesh, one who has faith in Christ and not one who is a
natural descendent of Abraham etc...

Let us not merge the Kingdom of God with the kingdom of this world which
is of darkness, we can bring the Kingdom of God on this world by abiding
in the rule / Law of the Lord and for that we need to reject the
understanding of this world for both oppose each other. Let us take
people to God and not God to the people; God does not change, change people.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Spirit and You desire man to worship You in Spirit and
Truth. Lord we pray we overcome the flesh as commanded by You so that we
walk in spirit and thus have access to your Kingdom. We pray Lord we
discern this world and its worldly understanding from your Kingdom...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Mark 15:19-20

19And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and
bowing their knees worshipped him.

20And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and
put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him.

John 19: 20This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where
Jesus was crucified was nigh [near] to the city: and it was written in
Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.

Matthew 15:22-27

22And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried
unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my
daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.

23But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought
him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.

24But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the
house of Israel.

25Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

26But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread,
and to cast it to dogs.

27And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall
from their masters' table.

Romans 2:29But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is
that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is
not of men, but of God.

John 8:39-45

39They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith
unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

40But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which
I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.

41Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born
of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

42Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I
proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

43Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

44Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will
do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth,
because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of
his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

45And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

Strange doctrines

Acts 17:19, 20And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying,
May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is? For thou
bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore
what these things mean.

We see today's message talks of Paul preaching to the people in Athens
the chief city of Attica, Greece. When Paul saw the whole of the city
was caught into idolatry his heart was stirred so he started to preach,
as he was preaching the people came to him and said 'what is this
strange doctrine you speak about?'

This was Paul in a city full of idolaters who did not know God or hear
of Jesus. This happened to me yesterday not in an unbeliever surrounding
but between Believer, surrounded with people who are passionate for
Jesus Christ but lacked understanding of scriptures. Paul spoke to them
of simple things from scriptures which were ancient in source and not
new, but its understanding was new to them. In my case I was speaking
about the Paschal festival which is also celebrated by the Jews as the
Passover and by the Catholics as Holy Week (Easter).

I shared this before how in the Bible in the book of Moses the feast was
of 2 weeks the Passover week (6 days) followed by the feast of
Unleavened Bread. The Israelites were required to take a Paschal lamb
and keep it in the house for 5 days and in the evening of the 5th day
they had to kill it and on roast it on fire and consume it. After the
Passover came the feast of Unleavened Bread during which they ate bread
without yeast for a whole week. When the Israelites were in exile in
Babylon they merged these 2 weeks together and thus it is recorded in
Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke as being celebrated together. The Law
required them to eat unleavened bread for 14 days for both the Passover
week and the week of the feast of Unleavened Bread.

If we look at the timeline Jesus' feet were anointed a week before the
Passover week and after the supper He left Bethany and went to
Jerusalem. He celebrated the start of the feast of Passover / Unleavened
Bread which started on a Sabbath (Saturday) and was arrested after He
finished and went to the Garden of Gethsemane and was arrested. He
fulfilled the 5 days as per the Law of Lord given through Moses. So on
Thursday evening the day before the Passover [High Sabbath which was on
Friday] He was crucified and His body was removed and placed in a tomb
[like done to great Prophets]. On Sunday noon when the woman went to the
tomb they found the tomb empty and He had risen.

Palm Sunday as celebrated [by Catholics] of Jesus entering Jerusalem had
happened a week before the merged Passover / Unleavened Bread week. They
also eliminated the fact that Jesus came sitting on a young donkey which
was never saddled [since it was just 1 year old] with the mother of it
tagging along and that is why they realized He fulfilled prophecy
[Zachariah 9:9] and shouted Hosanna.

The Catholics merged the two weeks of Jesus entering Jerusalem from
Bethany and the Passover /Unleavened week and modified facts thus
showing Jesus did not fulfill the Law of the Lord as given through
Moses. The Catholics went further to bury the Lord's sacrifice by making
it known by a pagan feast of Easter which fell in the same time as the
Paschal Sunday / Resurrection Day. Easter is to do with celebrating the
birth of goddess Ashtoreth [Easter eggs and bunnies].

Today just because Easter is famous we Christian (Believers) have
bridged God with the world, truth with lies. They do not realize those
who believe the Catholic version may be in the danger of not receiving
all what which was achieved by the Lord's sacrifice, since by faith we
receive and faith cannot be based on falsehood. We do not need to keep
the accurate calendar date [since the OT time was based on lunar and we
do not follow it now] but the understanding cannot be compromised. We
cannot take half the truth and say it is good enough and merge the rest
with falsehood.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are a Holy God and You Lord asked us your children to be holy.
Lord help us to separate ourselves from that which is not from You. Help
us to discern truth form falsehood. Help us to realize any falsehood
however good it may seem will not bless us and will only lead to
destruction...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Exodus 12:3-7

3Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day
of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the
house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:

4And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his
neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the
souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.

5Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall
take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:

6And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and
the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the
evening.

7And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts
and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.

Exodus 12:15-20

15Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall
put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread
from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off
from Israel.

16And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the
seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work
shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may
be done of you.

17And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this
selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt:
therefore shall ye observe this day in your generations by an ordinance
for ever.

18In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye
shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month
at even.

19Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for
whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off
from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in
the land.

20Ye shall eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations shall ye eat
unleavened bread.

John 12:1-2

1Then Jesus six days before the Passover [week] came to Bethany, where
Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.

2There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of
them that sat at the table with him.

Mark 14:1After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened
bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take
him by craft, and put him to death.

John 12:15Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting
on an ass's colt.

Zechariah 9:9Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of
Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having
salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an
ass.

Ask, Seek, Knock

Luke 11: 9And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and
ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

We always have referred to this scripture or used this scripture very
often but then how many times have we given real thought to it. The
verse says ask and we shall receive, if we can receive by just asking
then why seek and why change our position to go to a door and knock on it?

We need to understand, how can we ask for something if we do not know
what we need to ask. So seek is for something that we are not clear of,
thinks like knowledge, understanding of God or His Kingdom are things
which we need to seek. We cannot say Lord give me knowledge, give me
understanding and then accept Lord to give it unto us, we need to seek it.

To knock on a door we need change our current position and to go to the
door, we cannot expect a house to come to us, we need to go to the door
of that house and knock on it; the Lord assures us that the door will be
opened unto us. So things which do not change like Kingdom of God, the
Lord, the Word of God, salvation, Lord's favor are some things we need
to enter into, so we need change our position and to go unto it and
knock on it and it will be opened unto us i.e. taking water baptism is
like taking the step of change, going unto the door of salvation and
knocking on the door, we know God will surely open the door, do we doubt
that after taking water baptism God will not accept us and save us from
Hell? Opening the Bible and reading diligently is also like knocking and
God gives us more of His Spirit of Truth.

Today's scripture tells us things that can come to us we can ask / pray
for like healing, grace, wisdom etc.., things that we do not know fully
but know it exist we seek and things like which we need to go to or walk
into we need change ourselves, knock on its door and that door will be
opened unto us. So let us not ask for things we do not know or we need
to change for, we need to seek them or go unto its door and knock.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are God and You alone are God for there is none other than You.
Lord we ask for You and seek You thus do not know You. Lord the work
does not know You and your Word says when we seek You, You reveal
yourself unto us. You, Lord desire change thus by our being born again
we take the step of change and knock on your door Kingdom and You open
Heaven unto us. Lord we pray we know what to ask, what to seek and what
we need change and knock on unto...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

James 1:5But if any man among you is without wisdom, let him make his
request to God, who gives freely to all without an unkind word, and it
will be given to him.

Deuteronomy 4:29But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God [the
knowledge - to know Him], thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all
thy heart and with all thy soul.

2 Chronicles 7:14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble
themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;
then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal
their land.

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

The Great Divide

Luke 16:26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf
fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither
can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

It is sad when I hear great preachers and so called theologians have
very little knowledge of Heavenly things. They have something like a
fairytale understanding of Heaven, Hell and Creation as a whole. When I
hear about visitations to Heaven and Hell, I do not know to get angry or
cry out of pity to their ignorance. At every funeral it saddens me more
to hear the preaching than the passing away of the person. People have
never given importance to Biblical study of the Heavens.

When we use the term Heavens people think of a place up above where God
is sitting on a human throne like a human in a large palace and Angels
in form of humans but having wings surround Him. They then imagine the
palace to be made of gold with precious gems all over the place.

When the term Heavens (plural) is used it speaks of the various levels
of Creation (Heavenly and our). The glory of God is experienced in the
Upper 3 levels of Heaven which Paul in his vision called as third /
three Heavens. We exist in the 5th level and below us are 2 levels
(Grave & Hell), Hell being the last level (it is a prison and not a
place controlled by Satan). When it is said 'UP' does not mean
physically up but means a higher level and these levels as separated
according to righteousness. The Bible also uses the term east /left
(lower) and west /right (higher).

In Genesis 2, 3 scripture talks of two gardens one where Adam was made
and exiled to when he sinned and this garden was to the eastward of
Eden. When Adam had not sinned he had access to the garden of Eden. To
prevent him from entering the Lord puts a fiery sword and Cherub to the
east of Eden yet says 'everyway'.

Jesus in today's parable stated when Lazarus the poor man died and went
to the bosom of Abraham and the rich man went to Hell. People think
bosom of Abraham is Heaven / bosom of God.

When Samuel the great Man of God died and his spirit was called by woman
practicing divination, we read Samuel stating he was in a place of rest
and not Heaven for he questions the woman as to why she bought him UP.
If we read all the Patriarchs like Abraham, Moses, David etc. when they
died it is written they were gathered unto their fathers / slept. In
Acts Peter confirms that David has yet not ascended to Heaven.

Even in the NT when a mighty Man of God like Stephen was martyred it is
written although he said 'Lord receive my spirit' yet the last word says
'he slept'. In the book of Romans Paul too talks of us (Believers) as
being raised on the Judgment day and all (together) standing before the
Lord to give an account to Him. In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus says we
His flock will all be raised on Judgment Day to be judged and will be
separated as sheep and goats, with the sheep on the right hand and goats
on the left. The sheep will enter Heaven but the goats will see eternal
punishment. Again the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus again says on Judgment
Day many will say unto Him Lord, Lord and will claim of all the wonders
they have done, but Jesus will deny them entry to Heaven for they did
not do the basic Will of the Father. In the Gospel of John when the
thief who was crucified with Jesus says to remember him when He comes in
glory, Jesus says surely on THAT DAY (not 'today' as translated in
English translations) he will surely be in Paradise. Revelation too
talks of all standing before the Judgment Throne.

Today's scripture talks of the separation between the certain levels of
Heavens and one cannot move from one level to another. It is only via
righteousness that we can claim hold to a level of Heaven. Christians do
not realize it is not all about going to Heaven but also about where in
Heaven we are going to dwell eternally. If we want to dwell on the
highest level, where the glory of God is most concentrated (near to the
Throne) than we need work harder today for after we die there is nothing
we or anyone can do.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Holy God and scripture says when we enter Heaven You will
dwell with us as one. Lord we pray man understands the things that are
set for him so that he prepares his life here while he still can...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Genesis 2:8, 15, 24

8And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put
the man whom he had formed.

15And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to
dress it and to keep it.

24So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of
Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the
way of the tree of life.
