'ISIS Blows Up Baby in Training Class Demo'
Dozens of Islamic State recruits watched as the baby was blown up by remote control.
Mon, July 13, 2015
In one of its cruelest acts to date, Islamic State reportedly blew up a baby to show members how to handle explosives.

The incredible incident took place in Iraq's Diyala Province on July 10, according to provincial Security Committee Chairman Sadiq el-Husseini. He detailed the event to the local Arabic-language A-Sumeriah News.
The baby’s father was apparently executed just weeks ago, after he allegedly took part in the killing of an Islamic State member.
Sadiq el-Husseini
“The organization booby trapped the baby in front of dozens of armed ISIS men and then detonated it from afar,” Sadiq el-Husseini said. "The rigging of the baby and its detonation was a training exercise of ISIS to teach its people booby-trapping techniques.

“The organization doesn’t care about the most basic human values. Their crimes are incalculable and the blowing up of the baby is the best proof to the threat of ISIS’ ideology to the state.”

IRANIAN CITY OFFERS COMBAT TRAINING PROGRAM FOR KIDS
The purpose of the program is 'to introduce to the children the concepts of holy defense, knowledge of the enemy and fighting the Saudis and America.'
Thu, July 9, 2015
The municipality in the city of Mashhad (a large city in northeastern Iran) has launched a combat training program for children called the City of Quranic Games and Resistance. The program was under the supervision of clerics from the Iranian system of hawzas, Shiite religious seminaries.
According to the official site of the Mashhad municipality, “The purpose of this program that began a few days ago is to introduce the children to the concepts of resistance, war, holy defense, knowledge of the enemy and fighting Saudi Arabia and America.”
The children are training in groups of 10-15 in seven different types of martial arts. They wear military uniforms with headbands bound across their foreheads with the word “resistance” written on them.
Iranian human-rights activists say the program is to prepare the children to be jihadis similar to how ISIS is training children in Iraq and Syria.

EXTREMISTS VIE FOR KEY POSITIONS IN BRITISH POLITICS
In the wake of Britain's election, candidates with ties to anti-Semitic extremists and terror groups are standing for important positions.
Labour MP Jeremy Corbyn (left) is vying for head of the party. He has sympathies for Hezbollah and Hamas, among other Islamists. George Galloway (pictured on the left side of the picture on the right) is running for mayor of London and is seen here hugging Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Gaza.
This article appeared originally in GatestoneInstitute.org

In the wake of Britain's general election, candidates with ties to anti-Semitic extremists and terror groups are standing for important political positions.
In May, George Galloway declared that he was vying to become Mayor of London. Those concerned with Galloway's work with the Syrian and Iranian regimes expressed dismay at the news.
Now, a month later, the Labour MP Jeremy Corbyn is running for leadership of Britain's Labour Party, with the support of George Galloway.
In 2010, Britain's media watchdog, OFCOM, censured Galloway and Corbyn, after Corbyn appeared on Galloway's television program -- broadcast by the Iranian regime's channel, Press TV. OFCOM ruled that Galloway's description of Israel as a "terrorist gangster ... miscreant, law breaking, rogue, war launching, occupying state," and Corbyn's call for economic sanctions against the world's only Jewish state, "did not show due impartiality."
Galloway has long been able to rely on Corbyn for support in the House of Commons. In 2013, Galloway tabled a motion to commemorate the death of Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez, which was seconded by Corbyn.
Corbyn's views, however, amount to far more than mere anti-Israel hysteria and a fondness for South American dictators.

FORMER IRANIAN PRESIDENT CALLS TO WIPE ISRAEL FROM THE MAP
Rafsanjani, who is considered a 'moderate,' is head of the Expediency Council, the main advisory body to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Former Iranian president Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi-Rafsanjani said Monday that Israel should be wiped off the map.
Rafsanjani is head of the Expediency Council, the main advisory body to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Members of the council are chosen by Iran's supreme leader.
The remarks, made on the eve of the latest deadline between Iran and world powers to come to an agreement about Iran’s nuclear program, appeared in an interview conducted by the Al Ahd news website, an affiliate of Hezbollah, the Iranian-sponsored Lebanese terrorist organization.

IRAN LENDS EXTRA $1 BILLION TO SYRIA'S EMBATTLED ASSAD
The Islamic Republic is set to receive one hundred billion in sanctions relief post-deal, of which it is likely to spend large sums on terror activities.
The Syrian regime of Bashar al-Assad accepted a $1 billion line of credit from Iran, according the state run news agency SANA.

The money is the second credit line extended by Iran, which previously lent Assad $1 billion in 2013. That money is now running out.
The agreement was signed between the state-owned Syrian Commerical Bank and the Export Development Bank of Iran. Both are state owned.
CNN reported the money is to “buy goods and fund projects.”
The news of the credit extension came as it was revealed Iran stands to receive $100 billion from sanctions relief should a nuclear deal be signed.
It is feared the money Iran will have access to through sanctions relief will enable Iran to pour far greater resources into supporting Assad and terrorist groups throughout the region
A U.S. State Department official told the Daily Beast “We are of course aware and concerned that, despite the massive domestic spending needs facing Iran, some of the resulting sanctions relief could be used by Iran to fund destabilizing actions.”

ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK
The Islamist group Jaish al-Islam turned the tables on the Islamic State in a new propaganda video in which the group executes 18 ISIS fighters.
A video has been released by Jaish al-Islam, an Islamist faction fighting in Syria, in which it executes 18 Islamic State prisoners but with a twist in the color scheme.

The video was made in response to the Islamic State, which has publicly executed Jaish al-Islam members in the past.
The lead up to the execution includes interviews with captured Islamic State fighters who confess to fighting mainly against other rebel groups and failing to fight Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
They deny the charge that Jaish al-Islam members are apostates, instead accusing the Islamic State of being heretics and apostates. They claim that they are the true jihadists.
It is important to note that Jaish al-Islam is itself an Islamist Salafist group which ultimately seeks to establish an Islamic State governed by sharia law.
The execution reverses the power dynamic of the Islamic State’s videos by revesing the color scheme. The Jaish al-Islam fighters wear orange, while their Islamic State prisoners, kneeling and chained, wear black, a clear allusion to the orange jumpsuits typically worn by victims in the Islamic State’s videos.
They also sing a song to the same tune as We Have the Swords, an Islamic State song used in several of their execution videos. The lyrics are changed to be critical of ISIS.
Charlie Winter, a jihadist researcher for the Quilliam Foundation, said Jaish al-Islam almost certainly made the video a while ago, but released it to attack the Islamic State at this time.

10 Ways Iran Has Gutted the Nuclear Deal
Iran is trying to maneuver the West into signing a deal that effectively lets the Islamic Republic call the shots.
No Inspections of Military Sites

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei recently and unequivocally ruled out any inspections of its military sites.  Such inspections were also ruled out by Iranian Chief of Staff Major-General Hassan Firouzabadi, who said visits by U.N. inspectors to Iranian military sites are "forbidden" and a "red line.” The Iranian parliament just proposed legislation banning inspection of any nuclear site that goes beyond “conventional” (i.e. non-military) visits.
However, a group of bipartisan experts, including Olli Heinonen, the former deputy director of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), say without the resolution of  the possible nuclear dimensions (PMD) of Iran’s nuclear program – which necessarily would entail inspections – the agreement essentially allows Iran to remain a “nuclear threshold state.”
Immediate Cancellation of All Sanctions
Khamenei also recently demanded sanctions relief begin immediately upon the signing of the agreement. However, according to U.S. law, once an agreement is signed, sanctions cannot be lifted until the U.S. Congress reviews the document. Congress has 30 days to review any agreement.
Moreover, even when sanctions are lifted, a fact sheet issued by the U.S. State Department about the deal claims the sanctions will "snapback" instantly in response to Iranian violations of the deal. But tough international sanctions are not like a light-switch that can be flicked on and off.
The Iranian regime is already enticing Western companies with the prospect of lucrative contracts. Governments around the world will likely be willing to tolerate a nuclear-armed Iran when the dollars start rolling in to their economies.
No Speaking to Nuclear Scientists
Iran has nixed any speaking to its nuclear scientists by Western inspectors. “They say the right to interview nuclear scientists must be given,” Ayatollah Khamenei said, according to his website. “This means interrogation. I will not let foreigners come and talk to scientists and dear children of the nation who have developed this science up to this level.”
Yet, these “interrogations” are essential for the West to get a clear picture of the military component of Iran’s nuclear program. Documents suggest Iran has researched and made significant progress on nuclear warheads, nuclear ignition systems and other technologies related to nuclear warfare.
Restriction on Inspections
A recently released report, Verifying a Final Nuclear Deal with Iran, written by the former deputy director of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Olli Heinonen, states that for the agreement to be effective in real terms, verifiability must be a function of “unfettered,” “anywhere, anytime” access and not subject to any bureaucratic procedures which would give Iran time to alter the results of any inspections.
Yet, the Iranian parliament recently proposed legislation forbidding inspection that goes beyond “conventional” visits. Although this is clearly a way of banning inspections of military sites, the sponsor of the bill, Alaedin Boroujerdi, chairman of parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said his bill was designed to insulate Iran’s negotiators from the West’s “excessive demands.”
No Freezing R&D
According to the framework agreement hammered out in Lausanne, Switzerland in April, Iran agreed to "limit domestic enrichment capacity and research and development... for ten years."
Yet last week, in a live speech televised across Iran, the Ayatollah declared, “Freezing Iran's research and development (R&D) for a long time, like 10 or 12, years is not acceptable.”
Limiting research and development of Iran’s nuclear technology is mentioned four separate times in the framework agreement, with R&D on advanced centrifuges under a 15-year R&D ban.
Retention of Centrifuges
Under the deal, Iran will decrease the amount of operating centrifuges however, not a single one will be destroyed. Iran's insistence on keeping the centrifuges is strong evidence that it wants to preserve the ability to produce nuclear weapons.
The Institute for Science and International Security says Iran can build nuclear weapons in six to 12 months with only 2,000 to 4,000 centrifuges operating.
Former CIA analyst Fred Fleitz also puts these numbers into perspective. He writes: "5,000 centrifuges are far too many for other peaceful purposes such as producing medical isotopes or fuel plates for the Tehran research reactor. Moreover, it would be far more economical for Iran to purchase reactor fuel rods, fuel plates, and medical isotopes from other countries."
Continuation of Uranium Enrichment
Iran will only enrich its uranium to a level of 3.67 percent. However, in the words of Iranian President Hasan Rouhani, "The country that can enrich to 3.5 percent will also have the capability to enrich it to about 90 percent.”
The initial enrichment to 3.5 percent is actually the hardest part of the enrichment process. It is 7/10ths of the way to becoming bomb fuel. Iran can make enrich to the 90 percent level in about 4.5 months, while others put the time frame as short as six weeks.
Retention of Uranium Stocks
Iran is refusing to ship some of its current uranium stock outside of the country. The State Dept.’s fact sheet says Iran will "reduce" its uranium stockpile of 10,000 kg to 300 kg but this isn't as positive as it sounds.
Previously, reducing this stockpile meant Iran converted this low-enriched uranium into an oxide unsuitable for nuclear weapons production. However, it can be converted back easily.
Two experts from the Washington Institute for Near East Policy and Belfer Centre for Science and International Affairs write, “The notion that this puts the material ‘beyond use for bombs’ is simply wrong. The conversion of oxide back to uranium hexafluoride (UF6) gas is not ‘time-consuming,’ is not necessarily ‘detectable,’ and is not particularly ‘technically demanding.’ ”
Retention of Nuclear Sites
Under the deal, Iran is allowed to keep every single nuclear site in place, even the underground Fordow site that was almost certainly constructed for making nuclear weapons.
There will no longer be uranium enrichment at the Fordow site, but 1,044 centrifuges will remain and only be used in the context of a nuclear physics center.
What this means it that if Iran decides to scrap the deal, it can still transport uranium to Fordow and immediately begin enriching with those centrifuges. The site can accommodate 3,000 centrifuges, so about another 2,000 could be shipped in and installed.
Breakout Time Deception
The deal is hinged on the fact that, under the agreement’s restrictions, the time that Iran needs to build a bomb will increase from the current estimate of two months to one year.
However, this claim was recently and unequivocally refuted by Professor Alan Kuperman, coordinator of the Nuclear Proliferation Prevention Project at the University of Texas at Austin.
In an article recently published in The New York Times, Kuperman proves that with the number of centrifuges Iran is allowed to retain under the agreement, combined with the amount of enriched uranium it takes to make a bomb, the Iranian breakout time under the agreement would only be three months.

Women's 'Rights' in Iran: 5 Laws That Will Appall You
Britain is facing an "unprecedented" threat from hundreds of battle-hardened jihadists who have been trained in Asia, Africa and the Middle East, according to MI5, the domestic counter-intelligence and security agency. It warns that are now more Britons trained in terrorism than at any point in recent memory.

More than 700 Britons are believed to have travelled to Syria and Iraq, according to British authorities. Over half of these Britons are thought to have since returned home, where they pose a significant threat to national security.
Britain's terrorism threat alert is at the second-highest level of "severe," meaning an attack is "highly likely."
MI5's warnings are included in a major new report on the regulation of surveillance powers. Also known as the Anderson Report, the 380-page document was written by the UK's Independent Reviewer of Terrorism Legislation, David Anderson QC. The report states:
"MI5 has pointed out some of the recent factors which reinforce their concerns about the terrorist threat. Terrorist related arrests are up 35% compared to 2010. The number who have travelled to Syria and undertaken terrorist training since 2012 is already higher than has been seen in other 21st century theatres, such as Pakistan/Afghanistan, East Africa and Yemen.
"The threat posed on their return comprises not just attack planning but radicalization of associates, facilitation and fundraising, all of which further exacerbate the threat. The number of UK-linked individuals who are involved in or been exposed to terrorist training and fighting is higher than it has been at any point since the 9/11 attacks in 2001. MI5 regard this aspect of the threat as unprecedented. Some travelers were previously unknown to MI5.
"The volume and accessibility of extremist propaganda has increased. UK-based extremists are able to talk directly to ISIL fighters and their wives in web forums and on social media. The key risk is that this propaganda is able to inspire individuals to undertake attacks without ever traveling to Syria or Iraq. Through these media outputs, ISIL have driven the increase in unsophisticated attack methodology seen in recent months in Australia, France and Canada.
The report reveals that MI5 has successfully disrupted two attack plots by lone wolves in the past nine months, both in the late stages of preparation. According to MI5, "identifying such individuals is increasingly challenging, exacerbated by the current limitations in their technical capabilities."
Separately, the UK's lead police officer on counter-terrorism, Mark Rowley, announced the latest arrest figures — nearly one every day — which underline the scale of the challenge British police are facing to tackle the jihadist threat.
According to Rowley, there were a record 338 arrests for terrorism-related offenses in the last financial year (April 2014 to March 2015), a 33% increase on the 254 arrests in the previous year. He said that 157 (46%) of the arrests were linked to Syria, and 56 were under 20 years of age, an "emerging trend."
Rowley said that 79% of those arrested were British nationals and 11% were female. He added that 50% of the arrests were made in London and that roughly 50% of those arrested were later charged (up from around 40% in previous years). The arrests ranged from fundraising for jihadist groups to facilitation, preparation and execution of terrorist attack plans.
Rowley also said that each week the Counter Terrorism Internet Referral Unit (CTIRU), which assesses terrorist and violent extremist material on the Internet, removes on average over 1,000 pieces of content that breaches the Terrorism Act 2006. Approximately 800 of these items are related to the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq and are posted on multiple platforms. According to Rowley:
"ISIL and other terrorist groups are trying to direct attacks in the UK; encouraging British citizens to travel to Syria to fight and train; and are seeking, through propaganda, to provoke individuals in the UK to carry out violent attacks here."
"There is no doubt of the horrific nature of the offenses being committed overseas. The influence of those who wish to bring similar violence to the streets of the UK has been an increasing threat here. The rise in level of activity is matched by increased action by police and security services, who are currently working on hundreds of active investigations. We cannot be complacent."
Meanwhile, Britain's most senior Muslim police officer, Scotland Yard commander Mak Chishty, has warned that Islamist propaganda is so potent that it is influencing children as young as five, and that many more British Muslims are likely to end up being lured into becoming jihadists either at home or abroad.
In an interview with the Guardian newspaper, Chishty said there was an urgent need to "move into the private space" of Muslims to prevent youth from becoming radicalized. He called on friends and family to intervene much earlier, and to watch for subtle changes in behavior, including expressions of anti-Western sentiment. He said:
"We need to now be less precious about the private space. This is not about us invading private thoughts, but acknowledging that it is in these private spaces where this [extremism] first germinates. The purpose of private-space intervention is to engage, explore, explain, educate or eradicate. Hate and extremism is not acceptable in our society, and if people cannot be educated, then hate and harmful extremism must be eradicated through all lawful means."
Chishty defined "private space" as "anything from walking down the road, looking at a mobile, to someone in a bedroom surfing the net, to someone in a shisha cafe talking about things."
Chishty said that jihadist propaganda is so powerful that he fears his own children might be vulnerable. He said his message to fellow Muslim parents was: "I am not immunized. If I feel the need to be extra vigilant, then I think you need to feel the need to be extra vigilant."
Referring to three teenage girls from a school in Bethnal Green, east London, who slipped away from their families in February to join the Islamic State in Syria, he said he found it impossible to believe the claims by their families that there had been no clues that the girls were becoming radicalized. "My view as a parent is there must have been signs," he said.
According to Chishty, current counter-radicalization strategies are not working. "We are in unchartered water.... We are facing a risk, a threat which is global, which is powerfully driven by social media, reaching you on your own through your mobile phone."
Some of Chishty's ideas highlight the challenge of finding a balance between confronting jihadist propaganda and criminalizing free speech.
A new Counter-Extremism Bill — which the government says is needed to combat groups and individuals who "undermine British values" — is facing mounting criticism that it is too draconian.
The new legislation would introduce so-called Banning Orders for extremist groups that seek to "undermine democracy or use hate speech in public places." It would also give the government new powers to restrict individuals who seek to radicalize youth, and powers to close premises where extremists seek to influence others.
The bill would strengthen the powers of the Charity Commission to root out charities that misappropriate funds towards extremism and terrorism. It would also place immigration restrictions on extremists, and strengthen the ability of Ofcom, the communications regulator, to take action against channels that broadcast extremist content.
The legislation is partly aimed at providing the government with the tools needed to silence Islamic extremists such as Anjem Choudary, who has long called for the implementation of Islamic Sharia law in Britain. Although Choudary is believed to have inspired dozens of young British Muslims to carry out violence in the name of Islam, his training as a lawyer has helped him to stay one step ahead of the law and out of prison.
But the new bill is facing stiff opposition from a variety of individuals who fear the bill will give too much power to the state.
In an interview with the Telegraph, Haras Rafiq, the director of the Quilliam Foundation, an anti-extremism think tank, said the new bill would "do the very things the extremists want us to. With these Orwellian, totalitarian powers, we are playing into their hands." He added:
"It is very noticeable that the main Islamist groups are not really up in arms about this. They want it, because it will feed the narrative of grievance and victimhood they love. They will be able to use it to say, look, we told you so."
Rafiq described the proposed powers as "ridiculous" and "unworkable" and said that even if they survived the passage through Parliament, they would be struck down by the courts. "That will be embarrassing and a victory for the extremists," he said.
The Telegraph also reported that senior government advisors are opposed to the bill. A counter-extremism specialist at the Home Office's de-radicalization program, Rashad Ali, said:
"You can't protect democracy by undermining democracy. The Government is obsessed with legislation but this is not something you can defeat by legislation. It is a battle of ideas and we have to defeat these ideas by argument, not by banning even having the debate. What we need, far more than any new law, is a counter-argument and a policy which can inspire [Muslim] society to defeat extremist ideas."
The former foreign office minister and shadow home secretary David Davis said that "restricting free speech, and forcing those who hold views inimical to our own into the shadows, is an authoritarian act that will only serve to further alienate those susceptible to extremist views."
The government's new Business Secretary, Sajid Javid, in a leaked letter to Home Secretary Theresa May, warned that the law would turn Ofcom into a state "censor."
Alan Craig, the leader of a campaign against the proposed "London Olympic mega-mosque" at West Ham, is also opposed to the new bill. He said:
"David Cameron seems to think that banning orders, extremist disruption orders and draconian laws are the way to tackle Choudary's ideological venom. But such legislation simply endangers the UK's democratic liberties and freedom of speech. It is far better openly to expose — and mock — the fictitious fabricated roots of Choudary's fundamentalist ideology. It is this way that Choudary will slowly but surely lose his malign influence over so many impressionable young minds."
British Prime Minister David Cameron has defended the bill. "For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens: as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone," he said. "It's often meant we have stood neutral between different values. And that's helped foster a narrative of extremism and grievance." He added:
"This government will conclusively turn the page on this failed approach. As the party of one nation, we will govern as one nation, and bring our country together. That means actively promoting certain values... And it means confronting head-on the poisonous Islamist extremist ideology. Whether they are violent in their means or not, we must make it impossible for the extremists to succeed."
The bill's passage is not a foregone conclusion. Cameron's new government has a majority of just 10 MPs in the House of Commons, and holds 228 of the 787 seats in the House of Lords. MPs are likely to propose and debate amendments to the government's proposals

US: IRAN'S SUPPORT FOR TERROR UNDIMINISHED
Despite the newly released report, the State Department says it is still entirely committed to pursuing a nuclear deal with Iran.
Sun, June 21, 2015
Despite the fact that Iran’s global terror activities were “undiminished” between 2013 and 2014, the U.S. State Department is still entirely committed to pursuing a nuclear deal with Iran.

“We think it’s essential that we pursue those negotiations,” said Tina Kaidanow, the State Department’s coordinator for counterterrorism, as quoted in The Wall Street Journal. “None of that implies that we would be, again, in any way taking our eye off the ball with respect to what Iran is doing as a supporter of terrorism.”
Iran’s support for terror was documented in the State Dept.’s annual report on global terrorism, which was released Friday. The report says “Iran’s state sponsorship of terrorism worldwide remained undiminished,” which makes the State Dept. “very, very concerned,” according to Kaidanow.
While the June 30 deadline for the deal is now fewer than 10 days away, the release of the report shows, “Iran continued to sponsor terrorist groups around the world," according to Kaidanow.
The report specifically mentions Iran’s continued support for the Shiite terror organization Hezbollah in Lebanon as well as those fighting with embattled Syrian President Bashaar al-Assad.
The Clarion Project reported last week that Iran is supporting more than 100 terrorist organizations in Syria and Iraq alone.
In an interview with The Atlantic, U.S. President Barack Obamas admitted that some of the money freed up the deal’s proposed sanction relief may up going towards terrorism, although he argued that Iranian government would have to make good on their commitments to improve the country’s economy.
“I don’t think …anybody in this administration said that no money will go to the military as a consequence of sanctions relief,” Obama said. “The question is, if Iran has $150 billion parked outside the country, does the IRGC automatically get $150 billion? Does that $150 billion then translate by orders of magnitude into their capacity to project power throughout the region? And that is what we contest …”

'Iran Supporting More than 100 Shiite Terror Groups'
Al Hayat, one of the most-respected pan-Arab-language dailies, charges that Iran is supporting more than 100 Shiite extremist organizations.
Wed, June 17, 2015
A recent report in Al Hayat, one of the largest and most-respected pan-Arab dailies, charges that Iran is supporting more than 100 Shiite extremist organizations and militias in Syria and Iraq.
The newspaper, which is published in London and funded by Saudi Arabia, says the crimes of these groups are no less horrific than those of the Islamic State.
In Iraq, the Iranian-funded armed militias comprised of Persians have capabilities far beyond those of the Iraqi security forces. The paper quotes academics who commented that the purpose of these militias is to target the Arabs in Iraq, both Sunni and Shiite.
In the Arab world, there is anger that the international media is ignoring the atrocities being committed by these militias. Hussein Al Muayid, an Iraqi religious scholar and advisor to the general secretary of the Muslim World League, pointedly questioned why the media as well as political figures focus only on the activities of the terror activities of Sunni organizations. Muayid claims such selective reporting serves to makes an implicit statement that the Sunni world is responsible for all the terror in the world.
In addition, while governments, experts and clerics issuing fatwas are refusing to give any aid to these Sunni terror organizations, Muayid says Shiite militias, which perpetrate the most horrific acts, enjoy the support of the Iranian ayatollahs, the highest religious authorities in Iran, and the financial and military support of the Islamic republic.
Western researchers and Arab analysts believe that Iran is supporting more than 50 militias in Iraq and another 50 in Syria whose atrocities are not less than those of the Islamic State.

VOICES FORHUMAN RIGHTS AFRAH NASSER: WE'RE IN THE FIRST FIVE MINUTES OF THIS REVOLUTION

BY ELLIOT FRIEDLAND Mon, June 15, 2015
Afrah Nasser is a Yemeni blogger and activist currently living in exile in Sweden. She spoke with Clarion about the war and life in exile. Afrah Nasser is an internationally renowned Yemeni journalist, blogger and human rights activist, who writes about human rights issues and the political developments in Yemen since early 2010.
Nasser rose to prominence during Yemen’s 2011 uprising telling the untold stories on the ground. After receiving death threats for her anti-regime writings she became a political refugee in Sweden in May 2011. Her writings have appeared in various publications, including CNN, Institute for War and Peace Reporting, Doha Center for Free Media, The National and Al Arabi magazine. She has appeared as a guest commentator on the BBC, Al-Jazeera, France24 and other networks. Clarion Project: Can you briefly summarize the situation in Yemen for people who may not understand what’s going on?

Afrah Nasser: It is a double-conflict, there is both an external and an internal conflict going on at the same time. The external conflict is of regional powers jockeying for position, and the internal conflict is between the myriad of different factions fighting on the ground. I lived through the 1994 civil war and I have never seen anything like this.
I would urge everyone to call it a war, not fighting or conflict – it really is a war that is going in. In some ways one could argue that what’s happening is worse than Syria, although it’s obviously not a competition.
Yemen was already a much more impoverished place and this war is taking an extreme toll.

STATE DEPT MEMO: 'OUR NARRATIVE IS BEING TRUMPED BY ISIL'S'
A US State Department memo has revealed that senior civil servants believe the US is failing to delegitimize the Islamic State narrative.
Tue, June 16, 2015
An internal U.S. State Department memo, published by The New York Times, has revealed that the U.S. believes the Islamic State is winning the war of ideas and narrative.
The memo, written by the under secretary for public diplomacy and public affairs Richard Stengal, criticizes the coalition of countries aligned against the Islamic State for failing to provide a coherent and unified message to counter that of the terror group.
The memo reads, “the coalition does not communicate well internally or externally.” It says that the “messaging working group” of the U.S., the U.K. and the U.A.E “has not really come together.”
The memo criticizes far more harshly the external message. “When it comes to the external message, our narrative is being trumped by ISIL’s," it states. "We are reactive – we think about ‘counter-narratives’ not ‘our narrative.’"
The memo proposed the creation of a “full time coalition communications hub” based in the Middle East, which would “do daily and weekly messaging around coalition activities and counter-ISIL.”

EX-CIA HEAD: IRAN IS GENOCIDAL, THEOCRATIC, IMPERIAL, TOTALITARIAN

Former CIA director James Woolsey launched an unprecedented attack on Tehran during a Clarion Project conference call June 15.
Iran's leaders are "theocratic, totalitarian, genocidal, imperial liars," according to former head of the CIA James Woolsey.
Speaking on a conference call organized by the Clarion Project, Woolsey said he would rather deal with the Soviets he met across the negotiating table decades ago than talk to Tehran.
"They weren't theocratic fanatics," he said of his Soviet interlocutors.
Listen to Woolsey's comments.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyn4IaMJPhQ
Woolsey now chairs the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, which not only looks at Tehran's nuclear program but also its human-rights record.
"Iran is hanging political dissidents every day," he told reporters and an international audience. "The problem is not the Iranian people," he said.
He urged Western powers to encourage average Iranians to "stand up to their 'masters'," and believes with external support Iranians could succeed where their attempted revolution failed in 2009
However, it was the Iranian nuclear file that dominated Woolsey's remarks. He fears Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei will insist for example that any deal does not include U.N. inspections of military facilities.

150 ISIS SEX SLAVES COMMIT SUICIDE, SOME FED TO DOGS

The harrowing tale of one girl repeatedly raped, sent to a slave market and who then committed suicide is just the tip of a horrific iceberg.
Thu, June 18, 2015
At least 150 Yazidi women and girls killed themselves after they were forced to become Islamic State sex slaves, according to a woman working with some of the survivors who managed to escape.
In one of the most comprehensive accounts of the effects of Islamic State brutality, details emerged of the ordeals faced by hundreds of Yazidi women, very often after their male relatives were butchered by Islamic State members.
Irifan Mahdi, who is trying to help the women rehabilitate into some semblance of normative society spoke of the horrors in an interview with the Sputnik news organization’s Arabic website.

WOMEN'S 'RIGHTS' IN IRAN: 5 LAWS THAT WILL APPALL YOU

Modesty requirements are enforced by the morality police, comprised of members of the Basij militia who patrol the streets enforcing sharia.
Women's rights are severely restricted in Iran. There are legal restrictions as well as heavily inculcated societal and cultural norms imposed on women
Legally, the following laws apply to women in the Islamic Republic of Iran:
The husband is the head of the family, and his wife is legally bound to obey him. Article 1105 of the civil code states: “In relations between husband and wife, the position of the head of the family exclusively belongs to the husband."

1.A married woman cannot leave the country without her husband's permission.
2.A woman's testimony as a witness is worth half that of a man, in compliance with the sharia basis of the legal system.
3.In all public places, women must wear a hijab (headscarf) and loose fitting clothing (usually a chador, or loose coat, is required). Modesty requirements are enforced by the morality police.
4.Polygamy and temporary marriage are permitted for men (up to four wives are allowed, subject to certain restrictions), but not for women.
5.Women are frequently subject to honor killings. In cases where the father kills his daughter, he is not liable for the death penalty, but only for imprisonment. When someone is murdered, the family of the victim can forgive the murderer.

HOW TO CON AMERICA - AND GET A NUCLEAR BOMB!

You are among the first to have the chance to view the latest video in our Iran short series: How to Con America and Get a Nuclear Bomb in 4 easy steps.
How did Iran manage to dupe America and be set firmly on the road to nuclear weapons? What happened to the ironclad deal America had insisted on? It seems Iran cleverly dodged inspections, refused to close nuclear facilities, increased
centrifuge numbers and continued to enrich uranium.

Hitler wanted to conquer the world and wipe-out Jews, gypsies, gays and others.

At first, the world didn’t believe he was serious. But he proved us wrong and nearly won the war.

Our generation didn’t have the chance to stop Hitler. World leaders didn't take Osama bin Laden seriously until after the 9/11 attacks.
Now Iran wants nuclear weapons. Its leaders say “kill,” “mobilize to kill,” and “death to America.”

We have the power to say “No to a Nuclear Iran.”

IRAN ARRESTS, TORTURES POLITICAL CARTOONIST - #FREEATENA
Atena Farghandani, 28, will stand trial for drawing a cartoon against a law that would severely restrict birth control for both men and women.
Thu, May 28, 2015
The Iranian regime will put on trial a 28-year old cartoonist for drawing a political cartoon against a law drafted last March that would severely restrict birth control for both men and women.
The cartoon portrayed legislators as animals casting their votes on the legislation.
Atena  Farghandani was arrested last August when her home was raided by the Revolutionary Guards. She was taken to Gharchak prison for four months where she said she was beaten and interrogated for up to nine hours a day.
During a brief release in December, she posted a video in Persian detailing her inhumane treatment and was rearrested. Close to two months later, Farghandani went on a hunger strike and suffered a heart attack. She has been kept in solitary confinement since that time.

CAIR DENOUNCES US MILITARY ON MEMORIAL DAY
For the second year in a row, Council on American Islamic Relations' depicted the US military as a band of "murderers."
BY RYAN MAURO Wed, May 27, 2015
he Clarion Project broke the story last year that two Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) officials were criticizing Memorial Day, resulting in FOX News coverage and expressions of outrage from Muslims who appreciate the sacrifices of U.S. soldiers. CAIR officials again criticized the holiday this year.
CAIR is a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity that was designated as a terrorist group by the United Arab Emirates in November. FBI wiretaps in 1993 reveal that CAIR was established to deceptively push the Islamist agenda. You can read more about CAIR's background here.
CAIR-San Francisco Executive Director Zahra Billoo tweeted extensively after several websites reported on the Clarion Project's report from last year. She defended her depictions of U.S. soldiers and compared the Israeli military to ISIS:

ISLAMIST RADICALS 'RECRUITED FREELY' AT BRITISH UNIVERSITY
A senior academic who worked at the University of Westminster said recruits were led "like lambs to the slaughter" while she was there from 2007 to 2012
Thu, May 28, 2015
.The University of Westminster in London allowed rampant recruitment by Islamist extremists, leading students “like lambs to the slaughter” according to a senior academic.

The University of Westminster is the alma mater of Mohammed Emwazi, better known to the world as Jihadi John, the Islamic State’s lead executioner.
Dr. Alexandra Stein is a social psychologist specializing in extremist groups who worked at Westminster University from 2007 to 2012.
“I’d seen a tremendous amount of recruiting going on," she told local media. "I had Muslim students tell me that they were being pressured in the toilets to cover up and wear the veil. Women were encouraged to sit at the back of the lecture hall.”
Stein said “During the time I certainly tried to raise this with the administration. Interestingly the administration tried to shut us down while letting the recruiters in. I felt terrible because these students were being led like lambs to the slaughter.”
She had attempted to organize a program to counter the influence of speakers from the radical group Hizb ut-Tahrir, which has the same goals of global Caliphate as the Islamic State, but takes a non-violent methodology.
But the Dean of students blocked her idea and continued to allow extremist speakers unfettered access to the University.
“They did try and shut the doors on the program” Stein said, “but their doors were opened up to Hizb-ut-Tahrir speakers who were not banned, so I’m very angry about that.”
The University said that it is now working to implement the government’s counter-extremism program.

WHY JUNE 2015 MATTERS
It's deadline time for negotiators of the Iranian nuclear program. It's also a month in which you can act. We'll let you know how.
BY DAVID HARRIS Thu, May 28, 2015
Iranian and Western negotiators resumed talks this week in Vienna, Austria with little over a month remaining until the June 30 deadline for a deal on Tehran’s nuclear program.

The rhetoric pouring out of the offices of the Islamic republic’s supreme leader, his government and military remains as acrimonious as ever, attacking the West in general and the United States in particular.
The language used is not that of posture ahead of negotiations in order to gain a better deal for Iran, but rather the rancorous, vindictive talk of a nation that cannot be trusted.
Among the choice morsels this week:
"The enemies are more familiar with the language of weapons and we also intend to confront them with the same language," said Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Commander Major-General Mohammad Ali Jaafari
“Commander of the Iranian Al-Quds Brigades, Major General Qassem Suleimani accused the ‘anti-ISIL’ US-led coalition of supporting the ISIL terrorist group.”
"’The Iran-made S-300 (missile defense) system will be unveiled by the defense ministry and armed forces' engineers soon and will be tested before the eyes of everyone,’ chairman of the parliament's security committee Mohammad Reza Mohseni Sani told FNA.”
Amid this Iranian bluster, the French have taken a long, hard look at the Iranian’s more salient comments on the nuclear program and decided to take a step back for any potential bad deal.

“France will not accept a deal if it is not clear that inspections can be done at all Iranian installations, including military sites,” he told French lawmakers on May 27, urging other negotiating countries to follow suit.
Meanwhile, of course, Iran’s sponsoring of terrorism and despicable litany of human-rights abuses go unchecked.
June is a month in which Clarion Project and others will shout loud about the dangers of Iran’s nuclear program, its destructive role throughout the Middle East and beyond and arguably, worst of all, the way the regime treats its own citizens.
Look out for articles and features on our website, opportunities to hear from leading experts on Iran’s nuclear program, the launch of seven special short films on Iran’s nuclear programs and an activist website where YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
SAY NO TO A NUCLEAR IRAN. BE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF HISTORY.

'MODERATE' MUSLIM ORGS. LINE UP RADICALS FOR CONFERENCE
One of the largest Islamist gatherings took place over Memorial Day Weekend at the annual joint convention of two prominent organizations.
BY RYAN MAURO Wed, May 27, 2015
One of the largest Islamist gatherings happened in Baltimore over Memorial Day Weekend at the annual joint convention of the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) and the  Muslim American Society (MAS).

Below is a partial list of the speakers included:
Nihad Awad, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). Like ISNA, CAIR was branded an unindicted co-conspirator in the trial of the Holy Land Foundation. During the trial, the Justice Department said CAIR is an entity of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood’s Palestine Committee, a secret body set up to support Hamas. A 1994 Muslim Brotherhood Palestine Committee meeting agenda organized a discussion to “future suggestions to develop the work of” CAIR.
Awad publicly supported the terrorist group Hamas as far back as 1994 and referred to Hamas as well as Hezbollah as “liberation movements” in an Arabic interview with Al-Jazeera in 2004. The FBI monitored his emails from 2006 to 2008.
Imam Siraj Wahhaj, whose history of extremist and anti-American incitement is almost too long to review. For example, in 1992, he said, “If only Muslims were clever politically, they could take over the United States and replace its constitutional government with a Caliphate. If we were united and strong, we’d elect our own emir and give allegiance to him. Take my word, if eight million Muslims unite in America, the country will come to us.”
His rhetoric became more cautious after the 9/11 attacks. In 2011, he preached, “The trap we fall into is having a premature discussion about Sharia when we are not there yet.” In November, the New York Police Department disclosed frightening information about his mosque’s activity to defend its intelligence-gathering practices.

Naeem Baig, President of ICNA. Under his leadership, ICNA has gone to bat for the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood and pressured the U.S. government to stop the Bangladeshi government's crackdown on Jamaat-e-Islami, the Islamist parent group of ICNA. It was particularly upset over the execution of Jamaat-e-Islami leader for war crimes.
Baig is a signatory to the anti-ISIS letter that endorses the caliphate, Sharia governance and jihad against Israel and accused oppressors of Muslims. His group published a radical teaching guide for its members in 2009.
Sheikh Yusuf Islahi, whose biography boasts that he's been a member of the Indian branch of Jamaat-e-Islami since he was 25 years old and is a five-term member of its Central Advisory Committee. Islahi is the "chief patron" of ICNA's "Why Islam" campaign. He and the Jamaat-e-Islami he helps lead have a history of anti-Americanism and support for violent jihad.

Sheikh Mohammad Qatanani, the imam of the Hamas-linked Islamic Center of Passaic County. He was arrested and convicted by Israel in 1993 for being a member of Hamas and the Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood.
The Department of Homeland Security seeks his deportation because of his terrorist links and decision not to disclose his conviction on his green card application.
“It is certainly suspicious when a person who has been convicted of being a member of, and providing services, to Hamas, who has personal ties to a Hamas militant leader, and a Hamas fundraiser also sends undisclosed cash to the West Bank,” a 2008 court filing by Homeland Security explains.
In Arabic lectures between 2007 and 2009, he prayed for the defeat of “occupation and oppression” in Iraq, Palestine and Chechnya, inferring the U.S., Israel and Russia. He also said it is permissible for Muslims to donate to the families of suicide bombers and that Muslims should not criticize Yousef al-Qaradawi, the pro-terrorism spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Qatanani has also said that the U.S. needs to limit its free speech to stop “hate” speech towards Islam.

Jamal Badawi, formerly listed on ISNA’s website as a member of its Board of Directors, is personally listed as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land trial and is a founder of the Muslim American Society, another U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity. His name is listed as a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood official in an internal document from 1992.
Badawi’s history includes endorsing suicide bombings and “combative jihad” and praising Hamas as “martyrs.” He is also close to Brotherhood spiritual leader Yousef al-Qaradawi.

Sheikh Abdool Rehman Khan is the chairman of ICNA's Sharia Council and a member of the Fiqh Council of North America, which is dominated by Islamist radicals.  He used to be a scholar for the Islamic Foundation but was apparently fired, based on an online petition demanding his reinstatement.

Sheikh Omar Suleiman, a member of the ICNA Sharia Council. His bio states that he studied under Sheikh Salah As-Sawy and Dr. Hatem al-Haj. These are two Salafist clerics that lead the very radical Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America. The closest the organization can bring itself to foreswearing violent jihad is to oppose it because “the Islamic community does not possess the strength to engage in offensive jihad at this time [emphasis added].”

Imam Suhaib Webb is the former leader of the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center, whose teachings are largely based on Islamists like Muslim Brotherhoof spiritual leader Yousef al-Qaradawi and Sayyid Qutb, the Brotherhood cleric who influenced Osama Bin Laden as well as the Pakistani Islamist group, Jamaat-e-Islami.

Webb says Muslims should refuse to work with the FBI unless the FBI restores its relationship with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity. The FBI severed ties with due to evidence tying it to Hamas.
He also condemned secularism as a “radical, lunatic ideology…we’re talking about the loss of holy power in politics. It’s very difficult to find any place in the world now that is ruled by someone who is ruling by divine authority.” He said that only the Islam of Prophet Mohammed’s era is equipped for political rule today.

SEEKING TO SPARK SECTARIAN WAR, ISIS BOMBS SAUDI ARABIA
ISIS's first bombing there is a strategic move to spark upheaval in the Shiite-majority province that holds 90% of royal family's oil reserves
The Islamic State (ISIS) suicide bombing in Saudi Arabia on May 23 is significant in that it's the group's first claimed suicide bombing in the country, but it's also a strategic move to spark sectarian upheaval in the Shiite-majority province that holds 90% of royal family's oil reserves.
The Islamic State is trying to spark a cycle of sectarian violence that will destabilize Saudi Arabia and heighten the Royal Family's tension with Iran. The terror group thrives in environments where Shiites feel they need Iranian protection and where Sunnis feel threatened by real or imagined Iranian influence. The Saudi Eastern Province has the added benefit of endangering the Royal Family's most critical resource.
The bombing's objective is to spur Islamic State supporters in Saudi Arabia into action against the Shiites and the royal family. An October 2014 poll found that 5% of the Saudi population of 29 million has a positive opinion of the Islamic State (2% very positive and 3% somewhat positive).

HOW MUCH WOULD ISIS PAY FOR MICHELLE OBAMA AS A SEX SLAVE?
In the latest issue to its slick, English magazine Dabiq, a jihadi bride justifies sex slavery and names the group's price for Michelle Obama.
In the latest issue of The Islamic State’s slick, English-language magazine Dabiq, the terror group justifies taking captive women as sex slaves and promises to bring slave markets to the West.
With bravado, the magazine takes a dig at Michelle Obama, wife of U.S. President Barack Obama. "And who knows, maybe Michelle Obama’s price won’t even exceed a third of a dinar, and a third of a dinar is too much for her!"
One gold dinar is worth close to $600, however, it is unclear whether the magazine was referring to a gold, silver or copper dinar.
In an article titled “Slave-Girls or Prostitutes?” -- purportedly written by a jihadi bride named Umm Sumayyah Al-Muhajirah, the terror group says taking captive women and sex-slaves is justified according to Islamic theology and historical precedent.
The article argues being a sex slave is preferable to a life of "prostitution" – which is what the Islamic State thinks is the status of women in Western lands --and says that women who are taken as sex slaves should be therefore be grateful.

RUSSIAN MISSILE DEAL WITH IRAN MEANS 'MILITARY OPTION DEAD'
Western officials believe delivery of the system will essentially eliminate the military option to stop Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
Tue, May 26, 2015
Iranian news sources are reporting that negotiations with Russia to buy the S-300 surface-to-air missile systems were “successful.”
Western officials say delivery of the system would essentially eliminate the military option to stop Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
During a press conference Monday, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said that the missiles will be delivered as soon as possible.
Amir-Abdollahian spoke after a meeting with his Russian counterpart, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, in Moscow.
Since 2007, Russia has repeatedly threatened to sell the system to Iran but relented under Western pressure. On April 13, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a presidential decree facilitating the sale of the missile system.

ISLAMIC STATE ENDANGERS RARE BIRD
One of the last breeding colonies of the bird in the world in Palmyra, Syria, has been driven away by fighting for Palmyra by the Islamic State.
The critically-endangered northern bald ibis may become extinct in the Middle East as a result of the capture of Palmyra by the Islamic State.
A small colony of just seven birds nestedin Palmyra in 2002, the only colony in the world outside of Morocco.
There are now just four birds left despite government protection programs. They migrate annually and winter in Ethiopia.
The Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon offered a $1,000 reward for information about the wherabouts of the only female bird.
Named Zenobia, after an ancient Palmyrene Queen, she is the only wild bird who knows the migration route between Syria and the winter grounds in Ethiopia.

PLAYSTATION BOMBER STANDS TRIAL AS EUROJIHAD RISES
The trial for a 15-year old wanna-be jihadi is beginning in Austria. In Belgium, Antwerp's mayor has reportedly received "convert or die" threats.
A 15-year old boy charged with downloading bomb-making plans onto his playstation and conspiring to join Islamist terrorist groups in Syria has gone on trial in Austria.
He is charged with supporting a terrorist organization and planning to carry out a terrorist attack.
State prosecutors allege the boy, who has not been named because of his age, was in contact with Islamic State recruiters online and planned to carry out an attack in Vienna before his departure. He was 14-years old at the time of his arrest.
If convicted, he could be sentenced for up to five years in jail.
Elsewhere in Europe, the Mayor of Antwerp received a threat demanding he convert to Islam or he will be killed, according to local media reports. The mayor, Bart De Wever, told reporters he has no intention of converting.
The threat has not yet been confirmed as genuine.

24-YEAR OLDS FROM CALIFORNIA ARRESTED FOR TRYING TO JOIN ISIS
Authorities say the two men used social media to discuss the Islamic State and their plans to die fighting for the terror group.
Two 24-year-old men from Anaheim, California face a possible 15-year prison term for conspiring to provide material support to a terrorist group for their plans to join the Islamic State.
Muhanad Badawi and Nader Elhuzayel were tracked down partially through the monitoring of their social media accounts where they discussed their support for the Islamic State and terrorist attacks.
According to a recorded conversation, both had expressed “how it would be a blessing to fight for the cause of Allah, and to die in the battlefield.”
Both had also bought tickets to the Middle East.
Although the men confessed to the FBI, reports say they intend to plead not-guilty to the charges.

STRATEGIC FAILURES, THE US AND THE FALL OF RAMADI
The U.S. forgot the lessons of the 2007 as pleas from the Sunni and Kurdish tribes for direct aid to fight the Islamic State went unanswered.
BY RYAN MAURO Thu, May 21, 2015
The Islamic State (ISIS) has captured Ramadi, the capital of Iraq's Anbar Province, reportedly "terrifying" Iraqi officials who now foresee a "tsunami of international terror." It is an important achievement for the terrorist group aimed at pre-empting a potential Sunni tribal uprising.

The Sunni tribes in Anbar Province were critical to the success of the 2007 "surge" that ousted the Islamic State's predecessor, Al-Qaeda in Iraq. The deterioration in the relationship between these tribes and the central Iraqi government was likewise critical to the terrorists' comeback in Iraq.
The Islamic State remembered these lessons and acted quickly as the Iraqi government began training tribal fighters and the U.S. defense budget allotted $179 million to Kurdish and Sunni tribal forces. The U.S. forgot these lessons and has long rejected Sunni and Kurdish pleas for direct aid to fight the Islamic State.
The Obama Administration is now planning to change course and directly arm and train the Iraqi Sunni tribes after the fall of Ramadi. The White House previously chose to work only through the central Iraqi government that has given the Kurds and Sunnis inadequate support.
A delegation of 11 Sunni tribal leaders, including Sheikh Ahmed Abu Risha, the President of the Anbar Awakening Council, flew to the U.S. on January 18 to plead for direct assistance. Former President George W. Bush called Abu Risha and listened to his complaints for 20 minutes and offered to help. Administration officials were less willing. One tribal official said, "I wouldn't call it the 'cold shoulder,' but it certainly was a cool one."
The Obama Administration told them that it would only work through the elected central government. Its viewpoint was that working with forces outside the government's authority undermines the Iraqi leadership and threatens the country's unity.
That standpoint ignores what was learned after the fall of Saddam Hussein. Nothing threatens Iraq's unity and the government's authority more than instability. Direct U.S. aid to the Sunni tribes helped save Iraq from disintegration into sectarian enclaves ruled by terrorists and militias.
The Islamic State struck Ramadi during a sandstorm that delayed American air support. Former U.S. Central Command advisor Ali Khedery says that a Kurdish member of parliament informed him that 6,000 Iraqi Security Forces fled when faced with a mere 150 Islamic State fighters. About 500 Iraqi security personnel and civilians died in two days. The Iraqi officials spoke straight forwardly and  admitted that the current strategy is failing.
The Pentagon says it has finished training about 7,000 Iraqi Security Forces and another 3-4,000 are in the process of training, but training won't solve the problem of collapsing Iraqi forces. The U.S. trained the Iraqis from 2003 until the withdrawal in 2011. The strategy of waiting for the Iraqi security forces to become strong enough to stabilize the country is the same strategy that failed before the surge.
Iraqi personnel flee because they don't want to die for a lost cause or to fight for a replacement worse than the Islamic State.
The Iraqi Security Forces face a fundamental disadvantage when battling the Islamic State: They want to live and their enemies want to die. This disadvantage is further compounded by a lack of confidence. If given the choice to die fighting in a losing battle or to flee and perhaps regroup later with better chances of victory, they will choose the latter.
An Anbar official placed the blame on the Iraqi government, telling CNN, "If 10% of the government's promises had been implemented, Ramadi would still in our hands and the Islamic State wouldn't dare to be anywhere near the city."
Iraqi Sunnis are faced with a terrible choice. The Iranian-backed Shiite militias are often nicknamed "Shiite ISIS" because their crimes are comparable to ISIS but are less known by the West because they aren't broadcasted. However, the Anbar Provincial Council is officially welcoming them now out of desperation and perhaps an awareness that their opposition will be ignored anyway.
The Shiite militias should be expected to mistreat the local Sunnis the second after the Islamic State is expelled or even during the fighting. Tribal support is far from unanimous. The son of the largest tribe's leader is in the U.S. asking for support right now and bluntly warned that sending the Shiite militias into Anbar Province "will cause a civil war."
The New York Times has noticed the change in American attitude towards the Shiite militias. Pentagon spokesperson Col. Steve Warren said, "As long as they're controlled by the central Iraqi government, there's a place for them." Yet, only two months ago, Central Command Commander General Austin said, "I will not—and I hope we will never—coordinate or cooperate with Shiite militias."
The U.S. must correct its strategy by sidelining Iranian-backed militias and terrorists, leveraging influence with the Iraqi government and significantly increasing assistance to the Anbar tribes, Kurds, Iraqi government and to the persecuted Christian minority that is forming its own self-defense force.
Recent history has shown that the Iraqi government will choose the U.S. over Iran if compelled.
In March, the U.S. withheld support to Iraqi forces fighting the Islamic State in Tikrit because of the involvement of Iranian-backed militias and the Revolutionary Guards Corps. The Iranian proxies stalled and could move no further, displaying the value of U.S. air support. The Iraqis chose America and the Iranians were removed from the battle. U.S. aid delivered the victory that the Iranians could not.
The Iraqis had been asking for U.S. for more help including possibly advisors on the ground since October 2013. By March 2014, the Iraqis were asking for airstrikes on the Islamic State. The Islamic State blitz into Iraq began in June.
The Iraqi ambassador complained that the U.S. had denied requests for help including Apache helicopter sales, thereby putting Iraq "in an uncomfortable position in seeking support from whoever is available on the ground." He emphasized that the "U.S. is our strategic partner of choice."
Iran opposed the return of U.S. soldiers on the ground in Iraq as advisors. The Iranian-backed cleric Moqtada al-Sadr threatened to attack the advisors and two other Iranian-backed militias also forcefully opposed U.S. involvement. The Iraqi government went ahead anyway.
Even now, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi is in Russia and talking to China and Iran about delivering arms that the U.S. refuses to provide.
The U.S. needs to give the Iraqi government a clear choice: Iran or us.
The Iraqi government should be put on notice. If it is willing to restrain the Shiite militias and work with us to disband them, then we will provide all necessary aid. We will help negotiate with the Sunni tribes so their local forces operate within a national framework.
If the Iraqi government chooses Iran, then we will cut our aid and redirect it towards our Sunni, Kurdish and Christian partners while maintaining contact with friendly Shiites. We will not act as the air force for Iranian proxies. If necessary, we will talk about a role for the forthcoming Arab force led by Egypt to replace yours.
It is positive news that the Obama Administration is reversing its stance and will directly help the Sunni tribes, but the anti- Islamic State strategy requires an anti-Iran strategy.

100,000 CHRISTIANS KILLED YEARLY FOR THEIR FAITH
Islamic extremism has created 'cultural and human genocide' on levels unprecedented in modern times. Where is the outcry from the West?
Wed, May 20, 2015
Close to 100,000 Christians are being killed every year because of their faith, according to statistics from a Pew Research Survey and the International Society for Human Rights, a non-religious organization.
These figures, which represent an “unprecedented,” number of death per year amount to 273 Christian killed daily, or 11 every hour, said Bishop John McAreavey, chairman of the Council for Justice and Peace.

McAreavey, speaking to the Irish parliament on behalf of the Irish Catholic Bishop's Conference, said, “Eighty percent of all acts of religious discrimination in the world today are directed against Christians."
Clarion Project is in production of a new film on minority persecution at the hands of Islamist extremists. Check out the film's website by clicking here.

The bishop added that an ever great number of Christians are "being tortured, imprisoned, exiled, threatened, excluded, attacked and discriminated against on a widespread scale."
McAreavey quoted the former Chief Rabbi of Britain, Lord Jonathan Sacks, who said that the persecution of Christians is "one of the crimes against humanity of our time." Sacks compared the reality of today’s suffering Christians to the Jews were were terrorized by the pogroms in Europe. Sacks said he was "appalled at the lack of protest it has evoked."

ANCIENT CITY OF PALMYRA FALLS TO ISLAMIC STATE
It is expected Islamic State will demolish the UNESCO world heritage site. The city is also of strategic importance.
Thu, May 21, 2015
The Islamic State captured the ancient city of Palmyra in Syria in the group’s latest strategic advance this week.
The UNESCO world heritage site is home to some of the best-preserved Roman ruins in the world, mixed with Greek and Persian architectural styles. The oasis city was first built by King Solomon, according to legend.
The city is so beautiful that it is sometimes known as “The Venice of the Sands.”
UNESCO describes it as:
“An oasis in the Syrian desert, north-east of Damascus, Palmyra contains the monumental ruins of a great city that was one of the most important cultural centres of the ancient world. From the 1st to the 2nd century, the art and architecture of Palmyra, standing at the crossroads of several civilizations, married Graeco-Roman techniques with local traditions and Persian influences.”
The Islamic State has destroyed many other historic sites and artifacts including the Roman city Hatra, the Assyrian capital of Nimrod and the treasures of Mosul library and Museum.
The town of Tadmur, the Aramaic name for Palmyra, adjoins the ruins and was the location for one of the Assad regime’s most notorious military prisons. The city is important strategically because of its position on the road to Homs and Damascus from Deir ez-Zour
The gas fields of al-Hail and Arak are close by and can be controlled from Tadmur. A Homs-based human rights activist told AP that thousands of prisoners may have still been in Tadmur prison and will have been released by the Islamic State.

IRAN NAVY FIRES AT SINGAPORE SHIP IN INTERNATIONAL WATERS
Coastguard vessels from the UAE came to the ship’s aid after hearing its cry for help. The Iranian patrol boats gave up the fight shortly thereafter.
Mon, May 18, 2015
An Iranian ship fired warning shots across the bow of a ship from Singapore in the Persian Gulf in the third such aggressive incident by Tehran against commercial vessels in recent weeks.

An Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps patrol boat fired across the bow of the Alpine Eternity, an oil tanker manned by 22-23 crew members. The ship was sailing in international waters near the coast of the United Arab Emirates when it was attacked.
According to U.S. officials, coastguard vessels from the UAE came to the ship’s aid after hearing its cry for help. The Iranian patrol boats gave up the fight shortly thereafter.
A statement issued through Singapore’s Maritime and Port Authority read, "Such interference with navigational rights is a serious violation of international law. The freedom of navigation and free flow of commerce are of critical importance to Singapore and other maritime and trading nations."
As with the other incidences, Iran claimed to have a legal dispute with the Alpine Eternity and its parent company. In late March, the Singapore ship accidentally hit an Iranian oil platform. Although Iranian officials demanded reparations, to date, the shipping company has not paid Iran any compensation.

SAUDI ARABIA 'TO BUY' PAKISTANI NUKES AS ARMS RACE ESCALATES
Senior Western sources told The Sunday Times Saudi Arabia has decided to become a nuclear-weapons state.
Mon, May 18, 2015
Saudi Arabia will purchase nuclear weapons from Pakistan, according to a former U.S. Defense official.
Speaking to Britain’s The Sunday Times, the unnamed official said:
“There has been a longstanding agreement in place with the Pakistanis and the House of Saud has now made the strategic decision to move forward.”
Saudi Arabia, which financed much of Pakistan’s nuclear program, will buy nuclear weapons “off-the shelf.”
On May 11 an Arab leader told The New York Times “We can't sit back and be nowhere as Iran is allowed to retain much of its capability and amass its research.”

INDONESIA: MILITARY CHIEF DEFENDS VIRGINITY TESTS ON FEMALES
An international outcry erupts over the army’s decision to subject all potential female recruits to the humiliating, invasive test.
Tue, May 19, 2015
As an international outcry erupts over the Indonesian’s army’s decision to subject all potential female recruits to an invasive virginity test, the country’s top general  commended the practice saying, “So what’s the problem? It’s a good thing, so why criticize it?”
Speaking to reporters outside the state palace, General Moeldoko further remarked that while the “test” had no connection to a woman’s aptitude to be a member of the armed forces, it nevertheless was a “measure of morality. There is no other way.”
The test, which medical practitioners say cannot determine if a girl has ever had sexual relations, is administered in a humiliating procedure known as the two-finger physical exam.
Human Rights Watch condemned the test as “discriminatory and invasive” and demanded that Indonesia drop the practice.
Indonesia also carries out virginity tests on female police recruits. They have also proposed in the past carrying them out on high school students aged 16-18 as well.

HELP WANTED: SAUDI GOV'T ADVERTISES FOR MORE EXECUTIONERS
A civil service job portal in the kingdom advertised for 8 new beheaders to keep up with the increasing number of death sentences.
Tue, May 19, 2015
Executioners are in demand in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. A civil service job portal in the kingdom advertised for eight new beheaders to keep up with the increasing number of death sentences being handed down by Saudi judges.
The ad on the site says the job requires no special qualifications and also includes the task of amputating limbs for lesser offenses. The successful candidate would be a “religious functionary” and garner pay at the lower end of civil-service jobs.
Saudi Arabia ranks within the top five countries in the world for capital punishment, ranking behind China and Iran (first and second) and before Iraq and the United States, according to statistics gathered by Amnesty International.
Last year, Amnesty said at least 90 people were put to death in the kingdom, compared to the figure of 88 issues by the Saudi government. As of last Sunday when a man was beheaded (according to the Saudi Press Agency), 85 people had been executed in Saudi Arabia this year alone.

EX-NAT'L GUARDSMAN GIVEN 20 YEARS FOR TRYING TO JOIN ISIS
Donald Morgan, a 44-year old North Carolina man and former National Guardsman, converted to Islam and pledged his allegiance to the ISIS
Thu, May 14, 2015
Donald Morgan, a 44-year old North Carolina man and former National Guardsman, was given a prison term of more than 20 years, after he tried to join the Islamic State in Syria.

A convert to Islam, Morgan was arrested at New York’s JFK airport last June for the illegal possession of a gun that he had been trying to sell online. He had travelled to Lebanon and on to Turkey from where he was planning on crossing the border to Syria. However, his plans went awry when authorities at the Istanbul airport sent him back to Lebanon.
Although he feared being arrested on terrorism charges, he returned to the U.S. last June. Morgan pled guilty and was convicted on charges of providing material support to the Islamic State and possession of an illegal firearm.
He was previously convicted of a felony for firing a weapon into a packed restaurant in 1997 in North Carolina.
Morgan’s radicalization appears to have been a self-process.
Ironically, the first part of his life reads like an all-American story.  As a young man, he attended a military academy and eventually joined the National Guard. Later, he worked in law enforcement as a sheriff’s deputy.
However, he eventually fell into an opposite world -- a world of partying, alcohol abuse and violence. A six-year marriage dissolved.
About a year after his divorce, he converted to Islam. A long-time acquaintance said that Morgan began keeping close tabs on the wars in the Middle East, stopped body building, was significantly less social and worked at unusual hours.
“(Morgan’s) Facebook posts were a bit extreme at times, and there were some volatile statements in there. Some things that he would say that would make me think, you know this guy was going to the extreme with this,” said Bryan Beaver, a co-worker of Morgan’s for 15 years. “Derogatory statements toward Israel, some statements about infidels. Things like that.”
In January, Morgan began to actualize those beliefs and tried to join the Islamic State in Syria. On Twitter, he changed his name to Abu Omar al-Amreeki and called himself a mujahid, a wager of jihad. Six months later, he had pledged his allegiance to the self-appointed caliph of the Islamic State, Abu Baker al-Baghdadi.
“I would not classify myself as a radical, but by Western definition, I would be classified as a radical,” Morgan said of his beliefs. “I just consider myself to be a practicing Muslim.”

PAKISTAN: ISIS CLAIMS IT CARRIED OUT BRUTAL BUS ATTACK IN KARACHI
While traveling to a place of worship, 43 Shia Muslims were slaughtered on an overcrowded bus by gunmen on motorcycles. Thu, May 14, 2015
The Islamic State claimed responsibility for a brutal attack on a bus of Shia Muslims outside Karachi, Pakistan that left at least 43 dead and more wounded May 12.

A statement released through social media read: "Thanks to God 43 apostates were killed and close to 30 others were wounded in an attack by the soldiers of Islamic State (Isis) on a bus carrying people of the Shia Ismaili sect ... in Karachi."
Two Pakistani Taliban groups also claimed responsibility, including the Taliban splinter group Jundullah.

The attack, which happened on Wednesday, occurred when six gunmen on motorcycles attacked the overloaded bus. When the driver was forced to pull over, the gunmen boarded the bus and continued their massacre execution-style, shooting passengers point-blank in the head.
The pink bus was clearly recognizable to the attackers. The bus belonged to the Al-Azhar Trust and was carrying Ismaili Muslims to a place of worship.

INDONESIAN ARMY DOES VIRGINITY TESTS TO PROVE IF GIRLS 'NAUGHTY'
Military spokesman Fuad Basya insisted the army will continue to carry out the tests despite the objections of Human Rights Watch. Thu, May 14, 2015
Indonesia will continue ‘virginity tests’ on female recruits to its armed forces, despite calls for an end to the practice.

Human Rights Watch condemned the tests, which have been carried out for years as “discriminatory and invasive,” demanding that Indonesia drop the practice.
But Indonesian military spokesman Fuad Basya said the test was necessary to determine whether or not the girls were “naughty.”
“We need to examine the mentality of these applicants. If they are no longer virgins, if they are naughty, it means their mentality is not good.”
He reaffirmed that the test will continue, saying:
“We will continue to carry out the test because to be a military person, the most important thing is your mentality. Physical and intellectual requirements are secondary.”

Islamic State - Why Beheadings?
Executions come in many forms but why does IS choose such a barbaric method?
BY MEIRA SVIRSKY Sun, May 10, 2015
The Islamic State’s widely publicized beheadings of American journalist James Foley, American aid worker Peter Kassig and others Americans are designed by the Islamic State for the greatest shock value.

The sheer gore of the now-too-common beheading videos was a highly-calculated propaganda tool by the terror group. Designed to evoke both paralyzing fear as well as dissuade those who may think of opposing the group, the beheadings seem to have served their purpose.
Western leaders, imagining their own soldiers captured and in a similar position, are loathe to send them to such a potential fate, which means politically and militarily their hands are tied.
Local armies – underpaid, poorly trained and demoralized –simply stripped off their uniforms and fled from battle when facing the Islamic State, even though they vastly outnumbered the terrorists. This combination paved the way for the Islamic State to commandeer large swaths of territory in eastern Syria and northwest Iraq.

“When you meet the unbelievers, smite their necks.”  Sura 47:4. Historian Timothy Furnish writing in a 2005 study published in Middle East Quarterly says: “For centuries, leading Islamic scholars have interpreted this verse literally.”
Similarly, “[Remember] when your Lord inspired to the angels, ‘I am with you, so strengthen those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved, so strike [them] upon the necks and strike from them every fingertip.’"
Beheading has been used by Islamists since the time of Mohammed: Ibn Ishaq (d. 768 C.E.), the earliest biographer of Muhammad, says that Mohammed ordered 700 Jewish men in Medina to be beheaded for allegedly plotting against him.
Furnish writes: “Yusuf b. Tashfin (d. 1106) led the Al-Murabit (Almoravid) Empire to conquer from Western Sahara to central Spain. After the battle of Zallaqa in 1086, he had 24,000 corpses of the defeated Castilians beheaded ‘and piled them up to make a sort of minaret for the muezzins who, standing on the piles of headless cadavers, sang the praises of Allah.’ He then had the detached heads sent to all the major cities of North Africa and Spain as an example of Christian impotence.

The Al-Murabits were conquered the following century by the Al-Muwahhids (Almohads), under whose rule Castilian Christian enemies were beheaded after any lost battles.
Beheadings of live and dead enemies have been recorded over the course of more-modern Islamic history, from the time of the Ottoman Empire to the present.

Islamic State purportedly executed 30 Ethiopian Christians in Libya in a film released April 19.
This is the latest country in which ISIS has murdered merely because of the religious affiliation of their victims.

Texas Gunmen Honored as Martyrs in Pakistan
Nadir Soofi and Elton Simpson were honored for their 'martyrdom' after they were killed attacking a 'Draw Mohammed' event in Garland, Texas. Thu, May 7, 2015
The terrorists killed in Texas on Sunday while attempting to carry out an attack have been honored as martyrs in Pakistan.
Around 100 people gathered to hold a memorial service in Peshawar for the gunmen. A cleric delivered a eulogy saying “The exhibition of the blasphemous caricatures was unbearable for Muslims. It was shocking, sad, tragic and intolerable. We have gathered here to pay tribute and to carry out the Islamic rites for the Muslims who tried to stop it and sacrificed their lives and they will now be called ‘Martyrs for the prophet’s honor.’”
Ghausia Madrassa, the Pakistani Islamic school whose students are pictured protesting, also held a demonstration to honor the Islamist militants who carried out the attack on satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in January.
One of the gunmen, Nadir Soofi, attended high school in Pakistan at the elite $20,000 a year International School of Islamabad.

Iran Arrests Leading Dissident
Narges Mohammedi, the deputy director of the banned Defenders of Human Rights Center, was taken from her home in Tehran early May 5. Wed, May 6, 2015
Leading Iranian human rights activist Narges Mohammedi was arrested in the early morning on May 5. She was arrested at her home in the capital Tehran and is believed to be being held in Iran’s notorious Evin Prison, where many political prisoners are kept.
She is deputy director of the banned Defenders of Human Rights Center and has been imprisoned by the regime for her activism in the past. In 2010 she was arrested and in 2012 she was sentenced to six years in prison. In 2011 she was released early on health grounds. Defenders of Human Rights Center is headed by Noble Peace Prize Laureate Shirin Ebadi. She has been in exile in the UK since 2009.

The reasons for the timing of Mohammedi's arrest are unknown.
Mohammedi was facing charges over her civil activities, but was summoned before the Revolutionary Court on May 3. She attended the hearing and reportedly complied fully with regime demands. The court had granted her an extension, ostensibly so that her lawyers could review her case file.

Prior to the hearing her lawyers had not been allowed to view the charges, which were read out loud in court.
She is facing three charges:
“propaganda against the state”
“assembly and collusion against national security”
“establishing the anti-security and illegal ‘Step by Step to Stop Death Penalty’ group.”
Mohammedi told the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran that the charges against her were brought due to her civil activism and not due to any crime.

France to Implement Broad Surveillance Law Against Terror
President Hollande said the law was 'an essential text for the fight against terrorism,' but in reality 'it will also apply in many other areas.'
The French parliament has approved a landmark intelligence-gathering law that gives the state sweeping powers to spy on citizens.
The government says the new law — which was fast-tracked after the Charlie Hebdo attacks in Paris in January — is aimed at preventing Islamic terrorism.
But privacy groups say the law, which has been referred to as "the French Patriot Act," is so vague and intrusive and centralizes surveillance power to such an extent, that it poses an unacceptable threat to civil liberties in France.
The law on intelligence-gathering was adopted in the National Assembly, the lower house, on May 5 by a large majority: 438 in favor, 86 against and 42 abstentions.

Radicalization in Tower Hamlets: The Phenomenon
What made a total of nine young girls, from the same London school, attempt to travel to Syria and join the Islamic State?

This article appeared originally on GatestoneInstitute.org

In February, three London schoolgirls flew to Istanbul, from where they travelled by road to Syria to join the Islamic State. British police have confirmed that at least 700 Britons have now joined the terrorist group as fighters. Over the past year alone, 22 British women, most under the age of 20, are believed to have travelled to Syria to become "jihadi brides."
These three London schoolgirls, who lived in the borough of Tower Hamlets, were not the first from there to travel to Syria. They were not even the first Islamic State recruits from their school -- nor, it seems, will they be the last.

In December 2014, a friend and fellow pupil of the three London schoolgirls travelled to Syria after being "in covert phone contact with an unknown woman." These four 15- and 16-year-old Islamic State recruits were all pupils at the Bethnal Green Academy in Tower Hamlets.
The Telegraph recently revealed that a fifth Bethnal Green Academy pupil also attempted to leave Britain to join the Islamic State, but was stopped after police boarded the aircraft as it was about to take-off.
Then, in March 2015, a British court made four more pupils of Bethnal Green Academy "wards of the court" and confiscated their passports. The four girls, also age 15 and 16, were "barred from travel after showing an interest in going to Syria."
What made a total of nine young girls, from the same London school, attempt to travel to Syria and join the Islamic State?

US Negotiating With Qatar Over Fate of 'Taliban Five'
As negotiations continue it was announced the Taliban will open a political office in the Qatari capital Doha.
Tue, May 5, 2015
The US and Qatar are negotiating over security arrangements for five Taliban commanders who were released from Guantanamo Bay in exchange for U.S. staff-sergeant Bowe Berghdal last May. The prisoner exchange, in which the detainees were handed over to Qatar, caused an national outcry.

Under the current arrangements the ‘Taliban Five’ are forbidden from leaving Qatar and are monitored. That agreement expires at the end of May. If it is not renewed, the men will have no restrictions on them once it expires.
The outcome of the talks is unknown. Qatari officials are said to be open to renewing aspects of the deal or perhaps transferring the men to another country.
However, Qatar has just agreed to allow the Taliban to open a political office in the capital Doha.
On Monday a statement was released by 40 delegates from the Afghan government, the U.N. and the Taliban, who had convened in Doha under the auspices of Qatar for a ‘non-official meeting’ to discuss negotiations.
The political office is officially to be used as a base from which to negotiate.
Despite the statement, on the same day 18 police officers were killed by Taliban fighters.

Australian Media: Islamic School Bans Girls from Running
Two teachers and the students concerned said girls were banned from cross country as it may cause them to lose their "virginity."

Mon, May 4, 2015
An Islamic school in Victoria, Australia, is being investigated over concerns that its principal banned girls from taking part in the school's cross-country run. He reportedly believes running could cause girls to lose their virginity.
The school denied the accusations.
A former teacher at the Al-Taqwa primary school lodged a formal complaint with the deputy premier and education minister, James Merlino, stating the principal, Omar Hallak, had prevented the girls from running in cross-country events in 2013 and 2014.
“The principal holds beliefs that if females run excessively, they may 'lose their virginity'," the letter said.
"The principal believes that there is scientific evidence to indicate that if girls injure themselves, such as break their leg while playing soccer, it could render them infertile.”

7,000 Soldiers to Be Permanently Deployed on Streets of France
French police have been on high alert since Islamist gunmen left 17 people dead over three days of attacks this January.

Sun, May 3, 2015
French President Francois Hollande announced 7,000 of the 10,000 soldiers deployed on the country’s streets after the Islamist attacks in January will remain permanently.
French police have been on high alert after Islamist gunmen left 17 people dead over three days in attacks on the magazine Charlie Hebdo, a Jewish grocery store and police.
The military patrols will guard sensitive sites throughout France in light of the threat of more attacks. France's miliary presence in the African Sahel region and the Central African Republic has also raised the domestic threat level.
Although Hollande called the soldiers’ presence a “significant effort … even a very big effort” in light of its stretch on the burgeoning French budget, a French official who requested anonymity said that the presence of soldiers could not stem terror attacks.

Returning Syrian American Arrested on Terror Charges
A Syrian immigrant has been charged with international terrorism for engaging in combat in Syria and lying about his connections to ISIS.
Tue, April 28, 2015
A Syrian American immigrant has been charged with offenses involving international terrorism including engaging in combat in Syria and lying about his connections to the Islamic State and  Al-Nusrah (Al Qaeda’s affiliate in Syria).
A charge sheet against Mohamad Saeed Kodaimati, 24, filed in a U.S. district court in California also asserts that Saeed also lied about working for a sharia court.
Saeed travelled to Turkey in 2012. From there he was deported to Syria. However, in postings on Facebook and in conversations with associates, Saeed said he had fought for Al-Nusra, participated in a raid on a Syrian political prison and admitted, “I am currently the media person for the Sharia Authority."

UK Police Officers "Stand Together" With Extremists
When extremists and the authorities stand together, the true moderates are left standing alone.

This article appeared originally on GatestoneInstitute.org
On March 6, the Association of Chief Police Officers, a body funded by the Home Office, launched a national campaign named, "We Stand Together," which called upon British police forces and constabularies across the United Kingdom to bring together local communities to "stand against hate crime and intolerance."
The campaign was apparently a public relations campaign launched in the wake of "recent terrorist attacks in Paris and Denmark, which increased tension in some communities in the UK."
As part of the campaign, local police forces across the country organized events and arranged photo opportunities with Muslim community groups and spokespersons.
Unsurprisingly, some of these Muslim partners were part of extremist networks and hard-line religious sects. Time and time again, in the name of "diversity," officials and the authorities partner with extremists.

WHY WOMEN IN EGYPT WON'T GO TO THE POLICE WHEN MOLESTED
Egyptian lawyer Reda el-Danbouki shares a personal story that shows why women stay away from the police when they suffer molestation.
Sexual harassment and assault occurs daily around the world but is particularly prevalent in Egypt. Yet women there are very reluctant to go to the police.

Reda El-Danbouki, an Egyptian women’s rights lawyer who secured the country’s first ever conviction for female genital mutilation, told Clarion Project this is because of the way women are treated by the police when they do come forward.
He told Clarion:
"Not very long ago one of my friends was telling me about her experiences with the subject of harassment and I was discussing with her the importance of notifying the police about the situation, the centers of psychological support and the legal assistance.
"I have noticed that she categorically refuses to tell the police about any case of harassment. Not only because there are no rules to bring the woman back her honor, but also because the cops respond with a mentality of Eastern males to these kinds of situations.

Islamic State Threatens 9/11 Repeat in New Agitprop Film
A new film has been produced by the Islamic State entitled "We Will Burn America" threatening another 9/11 attack.
The Islamic State has released another propaganda video, this one explicitly threatening another 9/11 attack on US home soil.

The 11 minute long film is entitled “We Will Burn America.” It lacks the editorial sophistication of some of the Islamic State’s previous films and there are also minor grammatical errors in the English subtitles that accompany the film.
Among other things, the ‘Al-Hayat Media Center’ opening graphic, which has opened previous Islamic State films, was conspicuous by its absence – although the classical Islamic opening “in the name of God, the most compassionate, the most merciful” was still used.
Much of the film relies on b-roll footage of the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center, which killed nearly 3,000 people in 2001. It is fleshed out with footage from their previous films and some new content.
This suggests that the film production capabilities of the Islamic State have been degraded since previous productions, in particular their feature length film ‘Flames of War’ and the less military-oriented propaganda films attempting to portray their youth indoctrination camps as a positive environment for young Muslim children.
The film was distributed with a twitter campaign using #WeWillBurnUSAgain and #We_Will_Burn_America, alongside pictures showing the imagined destruction.
At the same time as threatening jihad abroad, the Islamic State has continued it’s ‘statebuilding’ activities in Iraq and Syria.

The movement of ‘Raqqa being Slaughtered Silently’ which documents the crime of ISIS inRaqqa revealed on Monday pictures of a group of cages that looks like animal cages in the zoo. ISIS has put them in the streets of the city to put law violators such as smokers or people who come late to prayer as a punishment.

Russian System Should Be Treated As Part of Iran's Nuke Program
As Russia plans to supply Iran with advanced missiles, the Clarion Project examines the likely knock-on effects of the deal for the U.S. and its allies.
BY RYAN MAURO Wed, April 15, 2015
The U.S., Germany and Israel condemned Russia's announcement that it will change course and sell the advanced S-300 air and missile defense system to Iran. Anonymous officials are relaying feelings of near panic to various press outlets, saying the delivery of the system would essentially eliminate the military option to stop Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

Russia repeatedly threatened to sell the system to Iran and Syria since 2007 but relented under Western pressure. The Iranian regime even sued Russia for $4 billion for going back on its agreement to deliver the system. Russia's formal announcement and request that Iran drop the lawsuit indicates Moscow is genuine in its stated intention to deliver the system.

The Russians will reportedly be paid $800 million by Iran for the system. Its advanced abilities include targeting 24 missiles or 30 aircraft simultaneously; a reach of 19 miles into the air and a distance of 155 miles. It can intercept aircraft, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles. Russia has already trained Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps personnel in how to use it.

Ugandan Christian Pastor's Daughter Gang-Raped
The 17-year old daughter of a Christian Pastor in Uganda was reportedly gang-raped after he refused to close down his Church.
Wed, April 15, 2015
Five Muslim men have gang-raped the daughter of a Christian pastor in Uganda, according to the Christian news network Morning Star News.

Morning Star, which reports on the persecution of Christians around the world, reported that the 17 year old was raped because her father had refused to close his Church. The New Hope Church operates in a predominantly Muslim area.

The victim, whose name was withheld for her own security, reported being assaulted and dragged into the bushes outside the Church.

The girl told Morning Star: “The five Muslims took hold of me, and they raped me there. I tried to scream, but they threatened to kill me. One of them said, ‘Your father should stop this prayer meeting of trying to change Muslims to become Christians and close the church building – we have warned him several times.”

The rapists reportedly fled the scene on the arrival of several church members who rushed the girl to hospital. She sustained injuries and is severely traumatized.

Her father said that the assault has been reported to the police, but no arrests have been made. The pastor reported that he had received several threatening messages before the assault.

UK Politician's Son Arrested Attempting to Join Islamic State
The 21 year old son of a Labor party councilor was arrested by Turkish authorities at the beginning of April with 8 other relatives.
Wed, April 15, 2015
The son of a Labor party councilor from Rochdale in the UK was arrested yesterday for attempting to join the Islamic State.

Waheed Ahmed is the 21 year old son of Labor party councilor Shakil Ahmed. He had been in Turkey trying to cross the border into Syria when he was picked up by Turkish authorities along with eight relatives, also from Rochdale.

UK security services arrested Waheed on his arrival into the UK at Birmingham airport.

An officer from the Greater Manchester Police said that police were “working to ensure the safe return of eight other people to the UK.”

He gave the specifics of the arrest, saying:

“In the early hours of Tuesday 14 April 2015, a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of CPI Section 40 (1) (b) TACT 2000 (Commission, Preparation or Instigation of Acts of Terrorism) at Birmingham airport.

“A few hours earlier, on Monday 13 April 2015, a 31-year-old man was arrested for the same offence in the Rochdale area.”

Bring Back Our Girls: One Year Later, Still Sex Slaves to Boko Haram
It has been one year since over 200 girls were kidnapped from the town of Chibok in Nigeria and the #BringBackOurGirls campaign was launched.
Tue, April 14, 2015
Today marks one year since the Nigerian terrorist group Boko Haram kidnapped over 200 Christian girls from a school in the town of Chibok Nigeria.
In the days before the kidnapping Boko Haram had massacred some 200 schoolboys at a nearby school who had been on their way to take exams.

Despite initially being sent home, the girls had been called back to their school to take their final exams when the middle-of-the-night attack occurred. The regional government had closed all of 85 of its secondary schools and sent 120,000 students home because of previous attacks.
The terrorists, arriving in trucks, vans and buses, overpowered soldiers guarding the school and herded the girls into the vehicles after burning homes and businesses in the area.
The girls were later sold into sex slavery for 2000 rials each, just $12 US each.
Shortly afterwards Boko Haram leader Abu Bakr Shekau boasted in a video that he would sell the girls at the market.
Nigerian Terrorist Group Boko Haram Threatens Nearly 300 Kidnapped Schoolgirls
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZG38PPYaT8

Another video was released in June showing the visibly terrified girls in Muslim dress reciting passages from the Quran while a jubilant Shekau claimed they were now Muslims.
Some of the girls were able to escape from Boko Haram. It was reported that roughly 60 of the girls were able to make it back home.
The attack triggered an international campaign of solidarity, started by the mothers of the kidnapped girls, who marched on the palace of then Nigerian President Jonathan Goodluck demanding ‘Bring Back Our Girls.’

The campaign saw many celebrities and political figures from around the world holding up signs emblazoned with #BringBackOurGirls including Michelle Obama, Malala Yousufzai, Emma Watson and Ellen and many other famous and ordinary people.
Reconnaissance and counter-terrorism assistance was provided by the US, China, UK, France, Canada and Israel.

The USA sent a team of 16 military personnel and conducted drone flights to assist in locating the kidnapped Chibok girls, in addition to training support for the Nigerian military.
Since the kidnapping the group has shown no signs of slowing. An attack on a village close to Chibok in July 2014 killed 11 of the parents of the kidnapped girls.
According to a new report released by Amnesty International, over the course of 2014 “Boko Haram killed thousands of people, abducted at least 2000 women and girls and forced more than a million to flee their homes.”
The report, entitled “Our job is to shoot, slaughter and kill,” was published to coincide with the one year anniversary of the Chibok kidnapping.
At the beginning of this year they went on a six-day rampage in northern Nigeria. The army fled, whereupon the terrorists razed the town of Baga to the ground.
An estimated 2,000 people were killed over those six days. Eyewitnesses who survived reported that the dead were too many to count. Surrounding villages were also burned and the inhabitants slaughtered.
In March 2015 Boko Haram pledged allegiance to the Islamic State and its self-styled Caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

A year later the girls are still in captivity.

EGYPT, LIBYA: U.S. NOT SUPPORTING US AGAINST THE ISLAMISTS
The governments of Libya and Egypt have complained that the US and other Western powers have not supported them against the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamist groups.
BY RYAN MAURO Thu, April 9, 2015
The anti-Islamist governments of Egypt and Libya are complaining publicly that the U.S. is not providing enough counter-terrorism assistance and is supportive of the Muslim Brotherhood. They remain appreciative of the U.S.-backed intervention to topple Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi, but criticize the U.S. for not having a plan to contend with Islamist terrorists and militias afterwards.

Egyptian President El-Sisi is gently criticizing the U.S. for not supporting the anti-Islamist government of Libya enough. He said, "there is a legitimate [Libyan] government and that government is denied the weapons it needs to confront terrorists."
El-Sisi traces it back to original mistakes that the West made in Libya He said that the military intervention to overthrow Gaddafi was the correct decision but the West failed to implement a strategy to help Libyans tackle Islamist forces afterwards.
"The NATO operation in Libya was not complete, which led the North African country to fall under the control of militant and extremist groups," he said. He was more forceful in another statement that "we abandoned the Libyan people to extremist militias."
Gaddafi supported terrorism, hid chemical weapons and spread anti-Americanism and radical Islamic propaganda. His relatively secular dictatorship stimulated Islamism and committed gross human rights violations. The NATO and Arab League alliance militarily intervened when the Libyan rebels—a mixture of Islamists, designated terrorists and secular-democrats—were about to experience a bloodbath in Benghazi.
The Muslim Brotherhood lost the first elections in a landslide despite massive organizational advantages. Unfortunately, the U.S. turned a blind eye to Islamism and even welcomed the participation of Qatar, one of the Muslim Brotherhood's biggest allies.
The Qatari-backed Islamists stabbed the West in the back by undercutting the secular-democrats and using its influence to benefit the Muslim Brotherhood's political and militia operations. The West doesn't even see the backstabbing because it doesn't view the Muslim Brotherhood as part of the problem.
Libya is now in a civil war. The internationally-recognized government in the east, based in Tobruk, is backed by Egypt and the United Arab Emirates. A rival government is based in the west at Tripoli and it has a coalition of loyal Islamist militias named the Libyan Dawn. This government is led by the Muslim Brotherhood and backed by Qatar, Turkey and Sudan. The West is neutral.
The chaos has allowed ISIS to grow in the north. The terrorist group has captured Derna and expanded to Sirte. ISIS is reported to have 800 fighters in Derna alone. The Libyan Foreign Minister says 5,000 foreign jihadists are now in the country.
And it's getting worse. The spiritual leader of Ansar al-Sharia, the Al-Qaeda affiliate in Libya responsible for the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, announced his allegiance to ISIS. Abu Abdullah al-Libi tweeted a photo of a book titled, The Legal Validity of Pledging Allegiance to the Islamic State" and started a pro-ISIS Arabic website.
One of the biggest problems facing ISIS is that the legitimacy of its caliphate was widely rejected on procedural grounds and al-Libi can help craft rebuttals. He is presented expert on Sharia Law so he speaks with religious authority, making him a dangerous addition to the relatively unpopular ISIS' ranks.
ISIS says Tunisia is next and its largest training camp is less than 30 miles from the border. The anti-Islamist government there faces a major threat because Tunisia is the greatest source of foreign fighters for ISIS.
Libyan Prime Minister Abdullah al-Thinni chastised the U.S. and Europe in February for not providing its army with the weapons to fight ISIS and the Libyan Dawn coalition of Islamist militias who loyal to the rival government in Tripoli. A growing chorus of U.S. officials are urging a lifting of the U.N. arms embargo on Libya.
"Libya Dawn is part of militant Islamists which get weapons, ammunition and supplies from all over the world, but America and Britain have other ideas against the interest of the Libyan people," Al-Thinni said.
He accused the U.S. and U.K. of siding with the Muslim Brotherhood and trying to get the "terrorist grouping" into political power. Al-Thinni said his country would instead look to Russia and accused Turkey of supporting the Libyan Dawn forces.
"The British are trying with all their power to save the Brotherhood and ensure their involvement in Libya’s political scene," said an anonymous member of Al-Thinni's cabinet in December.
The Libyan Foreign Minister likewise lamented that his country is "not part of any international strategy against terrorism."
The U.S. ambassador to Libya pushed back against Libya and Egypt's statements in February that the Muslim Brotherhood-linked Islamist militias are part of the same problem as ISIS. She rejected the notion that the U.S. should favor the Tobruk-based secular-democratic government over the Islamist one.
" This is not to suggest that ideology has played no role in Libya’s internal conflict, although it is not the defining role that some – particularly external parties – have sought to highlight; Libyans are by and large conservative, Sunni Muslims who share similar values.  Labels are unhelpful and misleading," she wrote on the fourth anniversary of Libya's revolution.
The Libyan embassy's charge d'affairs and women's rights activist Wafa Bugaighis said the U.S. is not supporting the Libyan government enough with intelligence-sharing, arms transfers and training. She emphasized that Libya is not requesting U.S. airstrikes or ground forces.
The U.S. and European countries are not picking sides in the civil war and are instead pressuring the rival Libyan governments to come to a power-sharing agreement. Bugaighis disagrees with the treatment of the two as equals.
"The fact is one is legitimate and democratically elected, [and] one is self-proclaimed and completely illegitimate," she said.
The frustration and disappointment of Egypt and Libya in the U.S. and Europe is becoming less and less sugar-coated. Western policy is not just seen as weak and delusional, but duplicitous. The tension is clear for those who see the sharp break with the normal pleasantries of diplomacy.
Egypt has accused the U.S. of betraying it by criticizing its ban on the Muslim Brotherhood, even though the U.S. itself bans the Brotherhood's Palestinian wing named Hamas. The Egyptian government website  suggests that the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood is responsible for the policy and its embassy is excoriating  the American media.
The United Arab Emirates banned the Muslim Brotherhood and made sure to shine the spotlight on its influential affiliates in Europe and the U.S. by designating the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR),  Muslim American Society (MAS) and Islamic Relief as terrorist entities. The UAE State Foreign Minister pointed to the backlash as proof of how influential the Brotherhood lobby is in the West.
In August, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates launched airstrikes in Libya to help the secularist Tobruk government fend off the Islamist Libyan Dawn. They opted not to tell the U.S. beforehand and Egypt even initially denied it behind-the-scenes. American diplomats were outraged because the action was not "constructive" towards political reconciliation. The Pentagon criticized the airstrikes.
Egypt began airstrikes on ISIS in Libya after the group released a video showing it executing 21 kidnapped Egyptian Coptic Christians. The U.S. was not given a head's up and did not participate. The Pentagon shockingly said, "We're not taking a position on it."
A European diplomat explained, "Sisi doesn't have credibility with, and he is in fact an opponent of, the moderate Islamists and they are already looking to use his bombings as a pretense to abandon the talks." The diplomat said that disrupting negotiations could move them "toward the radical groups."
If bombing ISIS--the most vicious and feared terrorist group on earth--will turn these "moderate" Islamists away from peace and towards terrorism, then they aren't "moderate" or genuinely seeking peace. We shouldn't base policy around radicals who are only a slight nudge away from becoming terrorists.
One can only imagine the outrage that Egyptians, Libyans and all victims of ISIS felt. ISIS had just executed 21 Egyptian Christians on videotape. Egypt retaliated by bombing ISIS in Libya at the same time that the U.S. was bombing ISIS in Iraq and Syria on a far larger scale.
And, yet, the Pentagon's position is that the U.S. can bomb ISIS but Egypt can't.
The Egyptian and Libyan governments requested that the U.N. authorize military intervention in Libya. The U.S. and Europe wouldn't even do that, instead implying that Libya's rival governments were essentially to blame by creating a power vacuum that ISIS filled.
A joint statement endorsed a "political solution to the conflict."
Egypt and Libya asked the U.S. and U.K. to endorse lifting the U.N. arms embargo on Libya so that its forces could get them military and training to fight ISIS and other Islamist extremists. They were denied. The British said it'd be considered if a unity government is established.
Egypt asked the U.N. for a naval blockade of the Libyan coast to stop weapons from entering the country. It was a reasonable request. After all, the U.S. and U.K. partially justified the Libya arms embargo based on concerns about weapons flowing in.
The answer to the Egyptians was silence.
It's no wonder that the Daily Beast reports, " The most common question Egyptians politicians, journalists and citizens alike have asked as their nation faced a mounting ISIS threat has been: 'Where is the United States?'

SAY NO TO HONOR VIOLENCE
In the UK, lawmakers established a national day of memory to remember the victims of honor violence and to raise awareness of the problem. In the US, honor violence is a crime that goes unnoticed and unrecognized. Women and girls are beaten, burned with acid and murdered right under our noses, but it is all too often overlooked. Please sign our petition calling on Congress to create a national day of memory for women and girls killed in the name of honor so that we can raise awareness and put an end to honor violence in the US.

Remember America's Lost Women: Create a National Day of Memory for Women and Girls Killed in the Name of Honor
In the US, honor violence is a crime that goes unnoticed and unrecognized. Women and girls are beaten, burned with acid and murdered right under our noses, but it is all too often overlooked.

Our first attempt to spread awareness about such horrific human rights abuses was the creation of our award-winning documentary film Honor Diaries. Now, we have teamed up with Jasvinder Sanghera CBE from Karma Nirvana UK to wake up the US by petitioning for a national day of memory for those victims who have been killed in the name of “honor”. Karma Nirvana has succeeded in creating a national day of memory on July 14th, and our hope is that we can create one on the same date in solidarity with the UK.
A family can feel that their honor is "tarnished" by their daughter acting or dressing too Western, having rumors spread about her, refusing to participate in a forced marriage, and, as we’ve sadly seen, even for merely looking at a boy.
Contrary to popular belief, honor violence does not just happen overseas. In the last several years alone we have seen honor killings in the United States make the news and shock the nation. According to a report by Phyllis Chesler, there are 33 known victims that have been murdered for honor in North America, including:
·      In St. Louis, Missouri, 16-year-old  Palestina "Tina" Isa was murdered by her Palestinian father with the aid of his wife. Her parents were dissatisfied with her "westernized" lifestyle.
·      In Georgia, 25-year-old Sandeela Kanwal was killed by her Pakistani father for refusing an arranged marriage.
·      Amina and Sarah Said, two teenage sisters from Texas were killed, allegedly by their Egyptian father, who is still at large.
·      In Arizona, Noor Almaleki, age 20, was killed by her father, an Iraqi immigrant, because she had refused an arranged marriage.
·      Waheed Allah Mohammad stabbed his 19-year-old sister, Fauzia, outside of their home in New York because he felt she wore immodest clothing and behaved too “Western”.
Please help us to leave a legacy and make July 14th a National Day of Memory for Women and Girls Killed in the Name of Honor. If these victims are not remembered we cannot hope to put an end to such horrific crimes against future generations of women and girls.

Three Female Terrorists Arrested in New York, Philly
Three female terrorists were apprehended by the FBI in Queens, NY and in Philadelphia. They had plans to attack on US soil and in Syria.
The U.S. government announced the arrests of three women suspected of terrorist activity last week, two from Queens, New York and one from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The former had communications with Al-Qaeda and sought to set off a bomb on U.S. soil. The latter was arrested as she tried to travel to Syria to join ISIS and commit a "martyrdom" operation. All three suspects are U.S. citizens.
The woman in Philadelphia is named Keonna Thomas and was also known as Fatayat Al-Khilafah. She was caught because the authorities noticed her tweeting in support of ISIS as early as August 18, 2013.
She communicated online with an American ISIS supporter in Somalia that came from Minnesota, as well as an unidentified Islamist cleric in Jamaica. Thomas also talked with an ISIS member in Raqaa, Syria and repeatedly expressed her desire to die waging violent jihad.

BUSH WAS TO MEET MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD AFFILIATES ON 9/11
In an ironic turn of events, the Islamist attack on the twin towers on 9/11 prevented Pres. Bush from meeting Islamist radicals at the White House.
BY RYAN MAURO Sun, April 5, 2015
The Clarion Project has received White House documents that show that President Bush was scheduled to meet with Islamists linked to the Muslim Brotherhood on September 11, 2001. In a remarkably ironic turn of events, it was Islamist terrorism that stopped the meeting with Islamist radicals at the White House from happening.

We have published a lengthy expose based on the Bush White House documents and how it relates to the controversy over anti-tax activist Grover Norquist's involvement with Islamists. Below is a summary of the findings.
The never-before-published documents substantiate the assertions that the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood gained access to the highest levels of the Bush Administration and the Republican party, partly due to the help of Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist. The files help tell a shocking story http://www.clarionproject.org/analysis/grover-norquist-co-build-islamist-influence-gop of an Islamist political influence operation that reached the highest levels of the U.S. government.

DEAL ALLOWS IRAN TO RETAIN ABILITY TO BUILD NUCLEAR WEAPON
BY RYAN MAURO Sun, April 5, 2015
If Iran is determined to make a nuclear arsenal, then going along with the deal for a period of time may be the smartest way to do it.
he U.S., European Union and Iran have announced that a broad framework for a nuclear deal has been reached. The bottom line is that it will inhibit Iran's ability to quickly produce a nuclear weapon, but the ability will remain. The West is gambling that the Iranian regime can be deterred from breaking the deal after it is made immensely stronger due to lifting of sanctions.
The good news is that if a deal is finalized and if Iran abides by it—two big ifs—then Iran will not be able to quickly produce a nuclear weapon. The U.S. government says that Iran's current nuclear "breakout" time is two to three  months and the deal will increase it to one year.

UK HOME SECRETARY TO ISLAMIST EXTREMISTS: 'THE GAME IS UP'
BY SOEREN KERN Sun, April 5, 2015
Although the principles behind Theresa May's proposals may be agreed upon, many questioned the absence of 'policies to back those principles up.'
British Home Secretary Theresa May has unveiled a series of new proposals aimed at combating Islamic extremism "in all its forms."
The plan is part of the Tory election manifesto, a declaration of policies and programs to be implemented if Prime Minister David Cameron's Conservative Party stays in power after the general election on May 7.
The home secretary has pledged that a future Tory government would — among other measures — ban Islamic hate preachers, shut down extremist mosques and review whether sharia courts in England and Wales are compatible with British values.
May has also promised to crack down on Islamic extremism in British prisons, to monitor how police are responding to so-called honor crimes, female genital mutilation and forced marriage, and to change the citizenship law to ensure that successful applicants respect British values.

Garissa University College in Kenya has been attacked by the Al-Qaeda affiliate al-Shabaab which is based in Somalia. The four heavily armed Islamic extremists carried our the attack which left 147 people dead and 79 injured.

Joel Ayora, a witness to the attack, said that the gunmen burst into the morning Christian prayers and opened fire, before they “proceeded to the hostels, shooting anybody they came across except their fellows, the Muslims.”

One survivor, Japhet Mwala, told AFP "We were sleeping when we heard a loud explosion that was followed by gunshots and everyone started running for safety."

RADICAL UK CLERIC CALLS FOR CALIPHATE, SHARIA,
A new interview has surfaced of Abu Izzadeen, a known UK based hate preacher who served three and a half years on terrorism charges.
An interview has emerged of UK-based extremist preacher Abu Izzadeen. In it he tells a reporter that all non-Muslims are kuffar (infidels) who will burn in hellfire, that the only acceptable form of government is a caliphate which enforces sharia and relates to UK Labour party leader Ed Miliband only as “a socialist Jew.”
[MUST WATCH] VICE NEWS interviews ABU IZZADEEN
bu Izzadeen is a convert to Islam born with the name Trevor Brooks. He converted to Islam in 1993 and is thought to have become radicalized at the notorious Finsbury Park Mosque by Islamist clerics Omar Bakri Muhammed and Abu Hamza al-Masri.
He was convicted in 2008 on charges of terrorist fund-raising and inciting terrorism overseas and sentenced to four and a half years in prison. On appeal his sentence was reduced by one year.
Although he had been a known extremist beforehand, at one point heckling then British Home Secretary John Reid, the terrorism charges stemmed from an incident in 2004.
Abu Izzadeen had stormed Regents Park Mosque with other followers and proceeded to deliver a series of speeches supporting terrorism calling on worshippers to donate money to Iraqi militants then engaged in an insurgency against American and British soldiers in Fallujah. They also praised 9/11 and 7/7.
Videos of the speeches surfaced later when investigating protests Abu Izzadeen was involved in leading over the Danish Mohammed cartoons controversy. Abu Izzadeen was at the time affiliated with the extremist group Al-Muhajiroun. He is linked with another radical UK based preacher, Anjem Choudary.

DAMNING REPORT SLAMS MISOGYNY BY UK SHARIA COURTS
Written by leading human rights activist Baroness Cox, a new report confronts "the abuse of Muslim women in Britain" by sharia courts.
One of Britain’s leading voices for women’s rights has authored a report into the abuses and discrimination women face at the hands of sharia courts.

Baroness Cox, an unaffiliated life-peer in the House of Lords authored the report, entitled “A Parallel World: Confronting the abuse of many Muslim women in Britain today.”
The report condemns what it calls "the emergence of a rapidly developing alternative quasi-legal system, which not only promotes systematic gender discrimination, but also undermines the fundamental principle of one law for all."
She published the report on the 23rd March, to coincide with a speech by Home Secretary Theresa May, unveiling of a raft of new measures to counter Islamic extremism in the UK.
These measures included an independent investigation into Sharia courts.
Baroness Cox, a lifelong educator and advocate of women’s rights authored the 39-page report which detailed the various problems arising from the sharia court system in the UK and provided recommendations to the government for how to improve the situation for women.
Her recommendations called for a judge-led review of the sharia court system, which would mean that the review had the legal power to subpoena witnesses and compel them to testify. A previous investigation into the system collapsed in 2011 as sharia courts were unwilling to comply.

She also called for the Arbitration and Mediation Services (Equality) Bill to be reintroduced in the next Parliament.

FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION RAMPANT IN THAI MUSLIM SOUTH
Thai authorities have been turning a blind eye to female genital mutilation which is widely practiced in the majority Muslim south.
“It’s just a little. Just an incision, no excision.” So says Dr. Patimoh Umasa, a female doctor who runs a small clinic in the Muslim quarter of the town of Yala, Thailand. There she performs what she calls female circumcision, better known as female genital mutilation (FGM), on Muslim girls.
Although Thailand is majority Buddhist, in the predominantly Muslim south, female genital mutilation is endemic.
Thai authorities have turned a blind eye to what they consider a cultural practice rather than a health issue. Although there have not been independent investigations, midwives and doctors report that almost every girl is cut.

She practices what is called type IV FGM, the least severe of the four types of FGM as defined by the World Health Organization. In type four the clitoris is cut, but not removed completely and the labia are not removed.
This is the same type as practiced in neighboring Malaysia, where 93% of Muslim women have been cut. In 2009 a fatwa by Malysian religious authorities decreed that FGM was required for all Muslim

National Guardsman Plotted Mass Murder of 150 Soldiers in USA
Cousins Hasan Edmonds and Jonas Edmonds were arrested for plotting to attack a national guard training facility in Illinois where Hasan had served.
A National Guardsman and his cousin have been arrested for plotting to attack US soldiers on a base in Illinois. If it had gone according to plan, up to 150 people could have been killed.
Hasan Edmonds, 22, was an Illinois National Guardsman serving with the 634th Brigade Support Battalion as a supply specialist. Jonas Edmonds, 29, planned to use Hasan’s uniform to enter the Joliet Armory, where Hasan’s National Guard unit was based. There he would attack using grenades and AK-47s.For his part, Hasan intended to fly out to Cairo and from there attempt to join the Islamic State, where he intended to use his military training to assist the Islamist terror group.Originally both men had intended to fly out to Syria, but Jonas has a previous conviction for armed robbery and therefore doubted he would be able to leave the country.

SWEDEN REVERSES HUMAN RIGHTS STAND TO RESTORE SAUDI TIES
Sweden's King and Prime Minister sent conciliatory letters to Saudi Arabia's King Salman after Sweden's foreign minister criticized Saudi human rights abuses.
Five bodies are displayed publicly in Saudi Arabia after execution. (Source: Twitter)
Saudi Arabia has restored its ambassador to Sweden after a diplomatic spat sparked by Swedish criticism of Saudi human rights abuses.
Sweden’s Foreign Minister, Margot Wallstrom, had called the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia a “dictatorship” and said that the kingdom’s flogging of Raif Badawi was ‘medieval.’ She also strongly criticized Saudi Arabia’s record on women’s rights.
Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world where women are not allowed to drive. All women and girls are also required to have a male guardian under Saudi law. In most cases, women in the kingdom are forbidden from travelling, doing business, marrying, divorcing, opening a bank account  – even undergoing certain medical procedures – without the permission of their male guardian.
Sweden cancelled a lucrative arms export contract with Saudi Arabia shortly afterwards, as Wallstrom was blocked from speaking at the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) in response to her comments. The cancellation of the arms deal prompted the withdrawal of Saudi Arabia’s ambassador, the denial of business visas in Saudi Arabia to Swedish citizens, and shortly afterwards, the withdrawal of the United Arab Emirates' ambassador to Sweden.

TOP RANKING IRANIAN GENERALS THREATEN SAUDI ARABIA & USA
Leading Iranian generals have threatened Saudi Arabia and the U.S. in response to Saudi attacks on Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen.
The commander of Iran’s Basij Force, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi, has threatened Saudi Arabia over the country’s attacks on the Houthi rebels in Yemen, comparing the Al-Saud dynasty to toppled Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. Naqdi also threatened the American presence in the region.
The Basij Force is comprised of paramilitary volunteer battalions attached to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps. They are ideologically devoted to maintaining the Islamic Revolution.
Brig. Gen. Naqdi said “Imposing war on Yemen will, God willingly, have no result other than Saddam's fate for the aggressors and the US that is the direct sponsor of this crime will have to leave the region forever after losing its puppet, the Al Saud regime.”
His remarks came on the heels of similar threats made by other high ranking members of the Iranian political and military establishment.

IRANIAN DEFECTOR: US SPEAKING ON IRAN'S BEHALF AT NUCLEAR TALKS
Amir Hossein Motaghi defected to the West while covering the ongoing nuclear negotiations in Lausanne Switzerland. He decried Iranian censorship
An Iranian journalist covering the Iranian nuclear talks in Lausanne, Switzerland has defected to the West. He accused the American delegation of serving Iranian interests and attempting to pressure the European delegates into accepting a deal.
Amir Hossein Motaghi was a close aide to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, and a key figure in his election campaign. He is said to have played a pivotal role in securing support for Mr Rouhani among the younger generation through innovative use of social media platforms.
He claimed political asylum in Switzerland while covering the talks as a journalist for the Iran Student Correspondents Association (ISCA).Motaghi slammed the US delegation as negotiating on behalf of Iran rather than the US. He said “The US negotiating team are mainly there to speak on Iran’s behalf with other members of the 5+1 countries and convince them of a deal.”

Explaining his defection, he told London based Iranian reformist TV outlet Iranefarda “My conscience would not allow me to carry out my profession in this manner any more”, since strict censorship under the Iranian regime meant that he could only report authorized material.
