Re: Source:- GOOD NEWS

Post  Admin on Sun 25 Dec 2011, 10:50 am

Isaiah 43:1 (NIV). But now, this is what the LORD says -- he who created you, O
Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel:''Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.''..... . Thoughts on This
Verse... We belong to the LORD, God of all creation and God of Abraham,
Isaac, and Jacob (cf. 1 Pet. 2:9-10). We are recipients of God's grace
and are blessed by his love for Israel's fathers. We do not have to fear
because God is in control of our future, just as he worked through the
history of his chosen people to send the Messiah. He will accompany us
through the difficult trials we will face. He will make sure our
redemption is realized. Why? Because we belong to him. We are his. He
knows us. He formed us. God's people are his possession forever. We are
children of the Almighty God!

Turn Off the TV

"Finally,
brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever
things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely,
whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there
is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things."

- Philippians 4:8 (NKJV).

According to
Chuck Colson in BreakPoint, "When Edward Bello committed his most recent
crime, he expected to go to prison. Instead, the judge sentenced him to
nine months with no television. He said he wanted 'to create a
condition of silent introspection' in order to induce Bello to change
his behavior.

"Belo's lawyers
were outraged. They appealed on the grounds that making Bello keep his
seven TV sets turned off is 'cruel and unusual punishment'—and thus
violates the Constitution. "

Can you believe
it? Astounding! What has our society become? Not watching television is
supposed to be "cruel and unusual punishment!"

While
television is an incredible means of communication and does have some
very uplifting, educational, and inspiring programs, you have to search
to find them as most of the programming glorifies illicit sex, violence,
instant gratification, easy divorce and no end of trash. Even some of
the religious programming with its glitz, glitter and phony spirituality
is incredibly embarrassing!

At times (in
the U.S.A.) it is "Turn off TV Week," and it's probably a good idea to
turn your TV off for the week, but it's much more critical always to
guard what we watch and what we allow our children to watch. This is
because constant repetition of any type of programming programs the
unconscious mind and one's belief system. For example, if I constantly
watch illicit sex, I will gradually come to accept it and then believe
that it is acceptable, and so believing sets me up to act it out! That's
how so much wretched and irresponsible TV is helping to shape the
beliefs, practices, and the ever-decaying morals of our society.

Even Jesus said
that if your eye offends you, better to pluck it out. In other words,
we need to be very careful what we watch and allow our minds to meditate
on. For if we meditate (let our minds dwell on) good, we will act
accordingly, and if we meditate on sin and evil, we will also act
accordingly. Let us never forget that what the mind dwells on, the body
acts on! And as David said to God, "I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against You."

- Psalm 119:11 (NIV).

Prayer: "Our
Loving Father in Heaven, thank you for your Word, the Bible that gives
me instructions not only for life after life, but also for how to live
life to the fullest in the here and now. Please give me the desire to
meditate on your Word and thereby program it into my unconscious belief
system so that I will always live in harmony with your will. Thank you
for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen."

Acts13:2 (NIV). While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy
Spirit said,''Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I
have called them.''..... . Thoughts on This Verse... When people
genuinely worship, when they fast and seek God's will, he calls them to
service and mission. Christian worship is not an end in itself, but a
launching pad to Christian mission. We shouldn't get so caught up in the
worship experience that we leave it at the door when we walk away.
Instead, we must understand that our''private' ' or church worship is to
inspire us to public worship and service in the world during our
everyday lives (cf. Rom. 12:1-2). As we worship with our brothers and
sisters, we should also listen to the words to the songs, the message of
the Scriptures, and the conviction of the Holy Spirit on our hearts.
God is calling each of us to a special mission in our world!

Moment In The Word
Light Up My Darkness

Greetings

TODAY'S VERSE
"You light a lamp for me. The LORD, my God, lights up my darkness."
Psalms 18:28 (NLT)

TODAY'S THOUGHT

Darkness is the absence of light. Life can be that way. It is
unpredictable and messy. Everyone of us has drama in our life. We all
have a story. We all have times when there is the absence of any light
and we are simply left in the dark, wondering what to do. David
experienced this. He had his difficulties, but instead of staying in the
dark, he turned to God for help. He cried out to God and God became his
light. He wrote, "You light a lamp for me. The LORD, my God, lights up
my darkness." Today, if things become unclear, if you are bombarded with
problems, or if dark clouds start to clutter up your sky, turn to God.
He will light your path.

TODAY'S PRAYER

Father, thank You for being a light in my life. Whenever I have been
left in the dark Your light has been right there. Thank You for being a
lamp for my path showing me where to go. Guide me today I pray.
AMEN

TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
-God shines light into my darkness
It is not hard to picture darkness. Sit for a moment and let yourself
see a deep dark cave of blackness. After a moment, look at the distance
and see a little light. The light begins to approach and gets bigger and
bigger. Soon the light is permeating the whole room until there is no
more darkness. Visualize God doing the same to your day. As you go on
your journey see God with you, casting light on the different shades of
gray in your life. Sense the joy in your heart as you can see life
clearer and feel the radiance of His light fill your soul with peace.

Romans14:8 (NIV).
If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to
the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.......
Thoughts on This Verse... We are the Lord's. He bought us out of bondage
to sin and death. We have voluntarily placed our lives in his hands. No
matter what we do or where we go, his grace goes with us. He has
promised to never leave us. He has assured us that nothing can separate
us from his love. So let's live with a sense of excited anticipation,
looking to see where the Lord will lead us. Let us face difficulty, and
even death, with the assurance that we will not face tough times alone.
Even in the shadow of death, we don't have to fear what the evil can do.
We are the Lord's.

Blessings of Unanswered Prayer

"Jesus said, "If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to

your children, how much more will your Father [God] in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!." - Matthew 7:11 (NIV).

Terry Fitzgerald Sieck shared how she "was in the habit of praying very

specifically
for what she wanted. She told God in great detail about the kind of job,
the kind of husband, the kind of life that she envisioned for herself.
And Terry was frequently frustrated. One day, a friend suggested that
she try a different tack. Give God a blank sheet of paper, the friend
suggested, and let God give you his list for your life.

"Not long
afterwards, Terry went back to school—something she hadn't anticipated
doing. And she met a wonderful new man whom she eventually married. He
didn't fit the criteria of her earlier list, but he was everything she
wanted in a husband. When Terry turned her life over to God's will, God
provided for her needs in ways she couldn't have imagined."

There's nothing
wrong with asking God for what we would like, but to get prayers
answered, they need to be in harmony with God's will. And while "some of
God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers" (as the country song puts
it), he often does give us the desires of our heart when we pray in
harmony with his will.

Prayer: "Our
Loving Heavenly Father, We thank you for your Grace and Mercy to
re-start our Daily Dose Devotionals back to normal. Thanks for those who
Prayed for us, May God bless you all, thank you that you hear and
answer my prayers. Thank you, too, for the times you haven't answered my
prayers according to my wishes which, if you had, it may have done me
more harm than good. Help me to live and pray in harmony with your will
so that I can be sure that you will answer my prayers one way or
another. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen.

Re: Source:- GOOD NEWS

John1:14 (NIV). The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the
Father, full of grace and truth....... Thoughts on This Verse... Jesus
is God's message. It wasn't a message contained in a book or given in a
vision, or revealed on a mountain to only a watchful few. No, God's
message was human flesh, bone, and blood. God's message came and lived among us. He faced our hardship, got our dirt between his toes, felt our disappointments, struggled with our temptations, suffered our
treachery, and bled our blood. Yet living in our world, God's message
brought us more than truth; he delivered us from death by God's grace.
What Is That in Your Hand?

THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
"Moses answered
[God], 'What if they do not believe me or listen to me and say, 'The
LORD did not appear to you?' Then the LORD said to him, 'What is that in
your hand?' 'A staff,' he replied. The LORD said, 'Throw it on the
ground.' Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, and he ran
from it". - (Exodus 4:1-3, NIV).

I have read how "there was a
10-year-old boy, who's left arm was damaged and subsequently amputated.
He decided to learn judo. His Sensai (teacher) was an old Japanese judo
expert.

"The boy learned quickly. After a short time, he had
mastered one important move. He asked his teacher to teach him more
moves. The sensei told him that this was all he would need.

"Soon
after, the boy entered a tournament where his opponent was bigger and
more experienced. The boy seemed outmatched. After a long match, the
opponent seemed to lose concentration. Quickly, the boy took advantage
and pinned what seemed to be his superior opponent.

"On the
ride home, the boy asked his sensei. 'How could I win with this one
move?' The sensei replied, 'You have mastered one of the difficult moves
in judo. And a good defense against that move is for your opponent to
grab your left arm.'"

Sometimes we don't think we have much
to offer in service to God. But we all have at least "one thing in our
hand." If we offer that willingly to God, he will use it for his glory.
And as the writer of
the above story said, "Sometimes your biggest weakness can become your greatest strength."

There is many ways you can tell others of our Saviors love
just plant littles seeds of faith ..even the small things you do become bigger down the line
(Mark 16:15) And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

MY QUOTE FOR TODAY IS BY -A.W. Tozer

The
average person in the world today, without faith and without God and
without hope, is engaged in a desperate personal search throughout his
lifetime. He does not really know where he has been. He does not really
know what he is doing here and now. He does not know where he is going.
The sad commentary is that he is doing it all on borrowed time and
borrowed money and borrowed strength; and he already knows that in the
end he will surely die! Man, made more like God than any other creature,
has become less like God than any other creature. Created to reflect
the glory of God, he has retreated sullenly into his cave; reflecting
only his own sinfulness. Certainly it is a tragedy above all tragedies
in this world that man, made with a soul to worship and praise and sing
to God's glory, now sulks silently in his cave.

A.W. Tozer

Prayer:
"Our eternal Father in Heaven, thank you for the gift you have given to
me. Help me to know what it is and how I can best use it for serving
you and helping others. I want to be a winner in your book. Thank you
for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Mighty Name I
Pray, Amen."

Matthew 7:13-14 (NIV). [Jesus said]''Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.......
Thoughts on This Verse...
''Majority rules!'' That's the edict of democracy. This has been a
blessed political philosophy for so many people over the course of
history. But,''majority rule'' doesn't apply to the Kingdom of God. God
sets the standard, not us. God's holiness is the goal, not just trying
to be better than someone else. Most, regrettably, will never find the
way of the Lord. They want it their way. One crucial problem with
wanting things our way: it leads to ultimate disaster. God, the Creator
and Sustainer of all life, is the only one who can set life's agenda.
Let's ask for his help and guidance for our way!

Moment In The Word
His Great Power
Greetings

TODAY'S VERSE
"I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God's power for us who believe him."
Ephesians 1:19 (NLT)

TODAY'S THOUGHT

Here is a mystery. How in the world can I have something so great in my
possession and totally ignore it? If I was a soldier on a mission I
would be conscious that I had powerful weapons at my disposal. If I were
a rich man going on a vacation, I would be fully aware of my financial
ability. Yet day after day I live my life as if there were no presence
of God or any of His power available for my life. How can this be? Is it
that I am not conscious that I am in a spiritual battle therefore
Christ's power has no relevance to my life? Is it pride or arrogance
that allows me to live as if everything depends on me instead of Christ?
I thank God that Paul realized this spiritual cancer and set an example
for us to follow. Paul wrote that I must ask God to help me understand
the incredible power that He has available for my spiritual journey. It
is with this understanding that I begin to ask God to do mighty things.
How about you? Are you applying the power of God in your life? If not,
start today. Ask God to help you begin to understand the incredible
greatness of His power available for your life.

TODAY'S PRAYER

Father, I pray that You would help me trust You and the power you have
available for me. I believe in You Lord, but I need help with my
unbelief. I really want to experience Your power alive in every aspect
of my life. I ask this in the name of Jesus.
AMEN

TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
-I understand God's incredible power available for my life

Allow God to take you on a journey. Come before Him in quietness.
Confess your ignorance of His mighty power and ask Him to reveal it to
you. Visualize God creating the world. See Him speaking to Moses in the
mountain. Imagine being with Jesus as He performs His miracles. Quietly
sense the magnitude of His being. Sense His energy, His majesty, His
might. Let Him fill your senses. Pray, "Lord help me understand Your
incredible power available for me and my life."

1Corinthians 2:9 (NIV). However, as it is written:''No eye has seen, no
ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who
love him.''...... Thoughts on This Verse... Kids look forward to
Christmas, Disneyland, and summer vacation. They imagine how great those
things could be. Christians look forward to heaven and dream of seeing
the Lord face to face, of being reunited with those we love who have
gone home to the Lord before us, and of sharing in the glory of Jesus
and his angels. But we can't even begin to imagine the great things that
God has prepared for us. They are far more glorious than anything we
can dream or imagine. So let's anticipate being surprised and live with
passion for the cause of the Kingdom knowing that any loss, any wound,
any trouble, will''not be worth comparing to the glory to be revealed in
us'' (Rom. 8:18).
Stand Up & Be Counted

"When Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was in the wrong." - Galatians 2:11 (NIV).

On more than
one occasion Jesus confronted the Pharisees in no uncertain terms for
their hypocritical behavior, as did the Apostle Paul to Peter in the
above Scripture verse. So when is it right for us to confront others and
when do we need to keep silent? How do we know when we are reacting in
proportion to what has happened or if we are overreacting? When someone
attacks us personally, when do we turn the other cheek? Or when we see
wrong in society, business, or politics, should we speak out or should
we look the other way and say nothing?

When people
attacked Jesus and accused him falsely, he remained totally non
defensive and said nothing because he had nothing to hide. On the other
hand, when people misused the house of God and used people for their
own ends, or tried to hide their hypocrisy behind a facade of religious
piety, or loved their man–made legalistic rules more than they loved
people, Jesus spoke out against them in no uncertain terms.

The bottom line
is our motive. Jesus always did what he did because he loved God and he
loved people. He attacked evil and wrong head on because it was
destructive to those whom God loves—us. Furthermore, Jesus always spoke
with authority but was never authoritarian, rigid, controlling or
manipulative because he always acted out of pure motives and had no
hidden agenda.

What we need to
do if we are going to make an impact in our world is, first of all, to
acknowledge our own shortcomings and with God's help, work to overcome
these. Second, we need to love the things God loves and hate the things
he hates and speak out against the things God hates as Jesus did. We
need to be angry with these too. We simply cannot love righteousness
without hating unrighteousness.

Remember that
meekness is not weakness, and also the words of Edmund Burke who said,
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do
nothing."

Prayer: "Our
Loving Father in Heaven, please give me the insight to discern that
which is right and that which is wrong, and give me the courage to stand
up and be counted, speak out against and confront the wrong, but always
in a loving and Christ–like manner. And help me always to be willing to
do my part to bring about change. Thank you for hearing and answering
my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen."

Kindness - Author Unknown - A touching story

Kindness
is a very touching story that will speak to your heart as it has spoken
to mine when I first read it. One day a woman was walking down the
street when she spied a beggar sitting on the corner. The man was
elderly, unshaven, and ragged. As he sat there, pedestrians walked by
him giving him dirty looks. They clearly wanted nothing to do with him
because of who he was -- a dirty, homeless man. But when she saw him,
the woman was moved to compassion.

It was very cold that day
and the man had his tattered coat -- more like an old suit coat rather
than a warm coat -- wrapped around him. She stopped and looked down.
"Sir?" she asked. "Are you all right?"

The man slowly looked
up. This was a woman clearly accustomed to the finer things of life. Her
coat was new. She looked like that she had never missed a meal in her
life. His first thought was that she wanted to make fun of him, like so
many others had done before. "Leave me alone," he growled.

To
his amazement, the woman continued standing. She was smiling -- her
even white teeth displayed in dazzling rows. "Are you hungry?" she
asked.

"No," he answered sarcastically. "I've just come from dining with the president. Now go away."

The
woman's smile became even broader. Suddenly the man felt a gentle hand
under his arm. "What are you doing, lady?" the man asked angrily. "I
said to leave me alone."

Just then a policeman came up. "Is there any problem, ma'am?" he asked.

"No problem here, officer," the woman answered. "I'm just trying to get this man to his feet. Will you help me?"

The
officer scratched his head. "That's old Jack. He's been a fixture
around here for a couple of years. What do you want with him?"

"See that cafeteria over there?" she asked. "I'm going to get him something to eat and get him out of the cold for awhile."

"Are
you crazy, lady?" the homeless man resisted. "I don't want to go in
there!" Then he felt strong hands grab his other arm and lift him up.
"Let me go, officer. I didn't do anything."

"This is a good deal for you, Jack," the officer answered. "Don't blow it."

Finally,
and with some difficulty, the woman and the police officer got Jack
into the cafeteria and sat him at a table in a remote corner. It was the
middle of the morning, so most of the breakfast crowd had already left
and the lunch bunch had not yet arrived. The manager strode across the
cafeteria and stood by the table. "What's going on here, officer?" he
asked. "What is all this? Is this man in trouble?"

"This lady brought this man in here to be fed," the policeman answered.

"Not in here!" the manager replied angrily. "Having a person like that here is bad for business."

Old
Jack smiled a toothless grin. "See, lady. I told you so. Now if you'll
let me go. I didn't want to come here in the first place."

The
woman turned to the cafeteria manager and smiled. "Sir, are you
familiar with Eddy and Associates, the banking firm down the street?"

"Of course I am," the manager answered impatiently. "They hold their weekly meetings in one of my banquet rooms."

"And do you make a good profit from providing food at the weekly meetings?"

"What business is that of yours?"

"I, sir, am Penelope Eddy, President and CEO of the company."

"Oh."

The
woman smiled again. "I thought that might make a difference." She
glanced at the cop who was busy stifling a giggle. "Would you like to
join us in a cup of coffee and a meal, officer?"

"No thanks, ma'am," the officer replied. "I'm on duty."

"Then, perhaps, a cup of coffee to go?"

"Yes, ma'am. That would be very nice."

The cafeteria manager turned on his heel. "I'll get your coffee for you right away, officer."

The officer watched him walk away. "You certainly put him in his place," he said.

"That
was not my intent. Believe it or not, I have a reason for all this."
She sat down at the table across from her amazed dinner guest. She
stared at him intently. "Jack, do you remember me?"

Old Jack searched her face with his old, rheumy eyes "I think so -- I mean you do look familiar."

"I'm
a little older perhaps," she said. "Maybe I've even filled out more
than in my younger days when you worked here, and I came through that
very door, cold and hungry."

"Ma'am?" the officer said
questioningly. He couldn't believe that such a magnificently turned out
woman could ever have been hungry.

"I was just out of
college," the woman began. "I had come to the city looking for a job,
but I couldn't find anything. Finally I was down to my last few cents
and had been kicked out of my apartment. I walked the streets for days.
It was February and I was cold and nearly starving. I saw this place and
walked in on the off chance that I could get something to eat."

Jack
lit up with a smile. "Now I remember," he said. "I was behind the
serving counter. You came up and asked me if you could work for
something to eat. I said that it was against company policy."

"I
know," the woman continued. "Then you made me the biggest roast beef
sandwich that I had ever seen, gave me a cup of coffee, and told me to
go over to a corner table and enjoy it. I was afraid that you would get
into trouble. Then, when I looked over, I saw you put the price of my
food in the cash register. I knew then that everything would be all
right."

"So you started your own business?" Old Jack said.

"I
got a job that very afternoon. I worked my way up. Eventually I started
my own business that, with the help of God, prospered." She opened her
purse and pulled out a business card. "When you are finished here, I
want you to pay a visit to a Mr. Lyons. He's the personnel director of
my company. I'll go talk to him now and I'm certain he'll find something
for you to do around the office." She smiled. "I think he might even
find the funds to give you a little advance so that you can buy some
clothes and get a place to live until you get on your feet And if you
ever need anything, my door is always opened to you."

There were tears in the old man's eyes. "How can I ever thank you," he said.

"Don't thank me," the woman answered. "To God goes the glory. Thank Jesus. He led me to you."

Outside
the cafeteria, the officer and the woman paused at the entrance before
going their separate ways. "Thank you for all your help, officer," she
said.

"On the contrary, Ms. Eddy," he answered. "Thank you. I
saw a miracle today, something that I will never forget. And... And
thank you for the coffee."

She frowned. "I forgot to ask you whether you used cream or sugar. That's black."

The
officer looked at the steaming cup of coffee in his hand. "Yes, I do
take cream and sugar -- perhaps more sugar than is good for me." He
patted his ample stomach.

"I'm sorry," she said.

"I
don't need it now," he replied smiling. "I've got the feeling that this
coffee you bought me is going to taste as sweet as sugar."

The
Bible has many stories about kindness. One of them is the Parable of
the Good Samaritan in Luke Chapter 10 verses 25 to 37. This is a story
of kindness shown to a stranger.
The Parable of the Good Samaritan is
a story Jesus told in answer to a test put forth by a certain lawyer.
The lawyer asked him, "What must I do to inherit eternal life?"

Jesus
returned his question with another question, "What is written in the
Law?" And the man answered, ""You shall love the LORD your God with all
your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with
all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself." And Jesus said to him,
"You have answered correctly; Do this and you will live."

But the lawyer wanted to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"

And Jesus answered by telling him the story of how a Samaritan shown kindness -- more than kindness -- to a total stranger.

Kindness
not just to my family and friends. Yes, we are to show kindness to them
but here from Jesus' parable, we are also to show kindness to
strangers.

The good Samaritan had compassion when he saw the
half dead man badly beaten by robbers. In response to that compassion,
he shown kindness by going out of his way to minister to him, to cloth
him and to make sure that everything needed to make him well is provided
for him.

This is true kindness. Kindness without expecting anything in return. Smile

1John 4:21 (NIV). And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God
must also love his brother..... .. Thoughts on This Verse... For over a
week, John has reminded us again and again. We must love our brothers
and sisters in Christ. This reminder, however, is the clincher. If we
love God, then we must love his children and our brothers and sisters in
Christ. Notice that the word isn't''should' ' or''will try'' or''want
to.'' No, we must. The Bible is careful not to put many''must do''
or''thou shalt'' commands in Scripture. But God's point is clear. Love
of each other is not optional, negotiable, or even something to be
delayed. God sent Jesus to die for the sins of all of God's children.
How can we not love those for whom Christ gave so much? As Paul will say
to the Corinthians, ''God's love compels us!'' We MUST love.

2 Timothy 3:1-5

"But
mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will
be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive,
disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love,
unforgiving, slanderous, without self control, brutal, not lovers of the
good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than
lovers of God--- having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have
nothing to do with them."

THOUGHTS

I will never forget Billy Graham’s eulogy at the memorial service
held in honor of those who died in the Oklahoma City Bombing. It was a
Sunday afternoon and there stood America’s Pastor charged with the
unenviable task of trying to comfort mourners whose lives had just been
shattered by such a senseless act of violence.
Rev. Graham did a masterful job at reaching out and reminding all of
us that God still cared. His words were comforting, but he also told us
that we could expect more of the same. He reminded us all that evil in
many ways is a mystery that will not be fully understood until we get to
Heaven. We may think we know why people do the things they do, but
God’s word tells us that the lawlessness which we see at work in America
today is a secret that only God and Satan fully understand. “For the
secret power of lawlessness is already at work. (2 Thessalonians 2:7a)
Isn’t is astonishing at how accurate the Bible portrays the times in
which we live? “People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money,
boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful,
unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control,
brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of
pleasure rather than lovers of God-having a form of godliness but
denying its power. (2 Timothy 3:2-5) We don’t have to go to Oklahoma
City to find examples. Just read the rest of today’s newspaper. They
live right here in our own community.
Billy Graham was right. Sadly, the Bible does tells us that times
will get worse. Wrong will continue to be seen as right, immoral as
moral, evil as good. Even Satan, the Bible says, will masquerade as an
angel of light. (2 Corinthians II: 14) Until Jesus returns, truth will
always be at peril.Jesus said, “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what
day your Lord will come. (Matthew 24:42) We may not know the day and
hour of Christ’s return, but God expects us to recognize the season.
The Apostle Paul warned us that the “last days would be unbearable.
As far as I’m concerned, we’re living in the “last days. Just as the
prophets predicted, we live in a world where wrong is now right and
right is wrong.

Well now its Christmas time and i see very little about Our Savior
its all about nothing but Jesus any more ..Then People wonder why there is no Peace Jesus is the Reason for the Season ..Then again it says in the bible Peace Peace then suddenly Distruction ..Jesus could come any time

Some time ago, Paul Harvey quoted a prayer and said that he had more
requests for it than almost any other he had used. Pastor Joe Wright
offered it before the Kansas State Legislature:

“Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness
and to seek our direction and guidance. We know your Word says woe to
those who call evil good but that’s exactly what we have done. We have
lost our spiritual equilibrium and inverted our values. We confess that
we have ridiculed the absolute truth of your Word in the name of moral
pluralism. We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism.
We have endorsed perversion and called it an alternative lifestyle. We
have exploited the poor and called it a lottery. We have neglected the
needy and called it self-preservation. We have rewarded laziness and
called it welfare. In the name of choice, we have killed our unborn. In
the name of right to life, we have killed abortionists. We have
neglected to discipline our children and called it building esteem. We
have abused power and called political savvy. We have coveted our
neighbor’s possessions and called it taxes. We have polluted the air
with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We
have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it
enlightenment. Search us, O God, and know our hearts today. Try us and
show us any wicked way in us. Cleanse us from every sin and set us free.
Guide and bless these men and women who have been sent here by the
people of Kansas and who have been ordained by you to govern this great
state. Grant them your wisdom to rule and may their decisions direct us
to the center of your will. I ask in the name of your Son, the living
Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Psalm 30:5 (NIV). For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a
lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the
morning..... .. Thoughts on This Verse... God is the God of all comfort
(see 2 Cor. 1). Even when he deals harshly with our sin and rebellion,
it is for our good. It will last only a short while and then it gives
way to rejoicing. If you are in a time of discipline or facing the cruel
consequences of sin, please don't give up. Morning will come, and on
that dawn will come God's grace. It's more than worth the wait!

Learning to Love

"'Teacher,
which is the greatest commandment in the Law?' Jesus replied: 'Love the
Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all
your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second
is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the
Prophets hang on these two commandments" . - (Matthew 22:36-40, NIV).

Someone else has said with tongue-in-cheek, "Heaven help your neighbor if you hate yourself!" But they were right.

Every normal
person wants and needs loving relationships, but if we hate ourselves we
are not going to experience loving relationships. We will
unconsciously project our self-hatred onto others and set them up to
reject us, for what we project is what we get back!

Actually, only
to the degree that I have learned to love and accept myself in a healthy
sense am I able to love and accept others in a healthy sense. What I
hate and have rejected in myself, I will also hate and reject in others.
My relationships will only ever be as healthy as I am.

Healthy
self-love and acceptance isn't a prideful thing, but rather, it is
learning to know and accept ourselves as we are—dark side and all. Only
then are we free to change and keep growing to become healthier and more
loving persons.

To grow in
self-love we need to be fully known by at least one other loving and
accepting person—a person who will not put me down, judge or criticize
me, tell me what I should or shouldn't do, try to fix me, give me
unsolicited advice, or preach at me, but accept me just

as I am. It is through their knowing, accepting and loving me as I am that, little by little, I learn

to love and accept myself. This truth cannot be over-emphasized for I can only feel fully loved

to the degree that I am fully known, accepted, and loved by at least one loving, trusted person.

Prayer:
"Almighty and Merciful Father in Heaven, please give me at least one
safe, loving and accepting person whom I can trust with my total
life—dark side and all—and through their loving acceptance of me help
me to learn to love and accept myself as you love and accept me, so I
can truly love you with all my heart, soul and mind and love my neighbor
as you want me to. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer.
Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen."

Have a Blessed Tuesday and God Bless you.

Thoughts for Today - Its ChristmasTime

THOUGHTS FOR TODAY

Isaiah 7:14
Therefore the Lord himself will
give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and
shall call his name Immanuel.

Isaiah 9:6-7
(6) For to us a
child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon
his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty
God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (7) Of the increase of his
government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and
over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and
with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the
LORD of hosts will do this.

Diana Ross did a Christmas song called Chrismas time a song about our prince of peace Jesus Christ , Read: Luke 2:1-20

The
events leading up to the birth of Christ weren't coincidental, but were
put in place by God, so that the prophecies of old would be fulfilled,
in Isaiah 7: 13-14; Isaiah 9: 6-7; Micah 5: 2-5.

Everything that
happened, from the time the census was ordered, to everyone returning to
their own city to be registered, and then the birth of Jesus while
Joseph & Mary were in Bethlehem, was orchestrated by God. Out of
Bethlehem, a small town in the City of David, came the Messiah.

This
event was the beginning of something so incredible. Jesus Christ left
His throne in glory and took on human form just to bring us
reconciliation to our Father God. He came into the world, miraculously
conceived, and then born as all humans are. He was first a baby, then
became a toddler, then grew into a child and went through adolescence
before becoming an adult. He experienced humanity at all levels. He
truly can identify with all people at all stages of life.

This
very first Christmas, God gave the greatest gift ever. His Son! And His
Son gave the gift of His life - which was why He came. Because of this,
we can have relationship with God as His children. Through Jesus Christ,
we are Sons and Daughters of the Most High God.

So this
Christmas, bear in mind the 'True' Christmas story, which led to the
'True' Easter story. Let us give thanks and praise to our heavenly
Father for these events, which have changed our lives forever.

No
matter how 'secular' the world is becoming, disregarding the truth of
Christmas, let us boldly proclaim the truth about the birth of Jesus as
the reason for the season.

Let us claim 'CHRISTmas' back!

If
we could condense all the truths of Christmas into only three words,
these would be the words: "God with us." We tend to focus our attention
at Christmas on the infancy of Christ. The greater truth of the holiday
is His deity. More astonishing than a baby in the manger is the truth
that this promised baby is the omnipotent Creator of the heavens and the
earth!

John14:21 (NIV). [Jesus said]''Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he
is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and
I too will love him and show myself to him.''...... Thoughts on This
Verse... Love is much more than a feeling or an attitude: love is an
action. When we love, we show it by our deeds. As disciples of Jesus,
our love is shown by our obedience to the things Jesus taught. Of
course, that obedience brings an incredible blessing -- Jesus reveals
himself to those who obey him!

Moment In The Word
Telling Others

Greetings

TODAY'S VERSE

"I will tell everyone about your righteousness. All day long I will
proclaim your saving power, though I am not skilled with words. I will
praise your mighty deeds, O Sovereign LORD. I will tell everyone that
you alone are just. O God, you have taught me from my earliest
childhood, and I constantly tell others about the wonderful things you
do."
Psalms 71:15-18 (NLT)

TODAY'S THOUGHT

It's hard to keep quiet about something you really love. Imagine trying
to be quiet about your favorite food, sports team, or hobby. If you were
picked for a prestigious job or were asked to spend time with a famous
celebrity, everyone would soon find out about it. And yet, isn't it
strange that we call the God of the universe our Father, have all our
sins forgiven by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and have the
Holy Spirit living in us, yet find ourself going day after day, week
after week, month after month never talking about it? Perhaps we need to
examine our faith to see if it is real? Maybe we need to examine where
God is in our list of priorities? Could it be we need to spend more time
getting to know God better? The Psalmist is telling everyone about God.
All day long he is proclaiming God's love and power and the wonderful
things He is doing. Today, pray and ask God to give you the same joy and
zeal in your heart.

TODAY'S PRAYER

Father, I am so easily distracted with everything in this world that I
often forget all that you mean to me. Forgive me. Thank You for all You
have done in my life. Thank You for Your salvation and all Your
provisions. I praise You, Lord, and will tell others of all Your
goodness.
AMEN

TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
-I will tell others about the love of God
Focus on God's abiding presence in your life. Think of His love and how
you are His own special creation. Imagine you having a relationship with
God where you communicated with Him and He aided you in your daily
life. See God answering your prayers and feel a joy well up inside of
you. Visualize yourself telling others about God's presence in your life
and how they could have the same thing. Affirm today, "I will tell
others about the love of God."

Re: Source:- GOOD NEWS

Romans 8:19 (NIV).
The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God
to be revealed.... ... Thoughts on This Verse... Eagerly waits! Don't
you just love that idea! Sounds like an oxymoron. It's not. Think of a
groom waiting for his bride to come down the aisle. Imagine parents of a
child that is due to be born. Remember what it was like as a child
waiting for Christmas morning. Eagerly waits! That's what creation, so
caught up with decay, disaster, and death, is doing! And what is
creation waiting for so eagerly? Our transformation and revelation as
God's triumphant and glorious children. Sounds pretty wonderful for a
time and world like ours.
What Is Sin?

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

- Romans 6:23 (NIV).

What is sin and why does God hate it?

Someone has
argued if God is the creator of all things then he must have created
sin. Actually, sin, as another has suggested is not a "created" thing at
all. It is an action on our part or a failure to act as we know we
ought to act or behave. God created people but he didn't create sin or
sinners. Sinners are people who have chosen to go their own way rather
than God's way. It's the same with evil. It is the evil actions of
people who have chosen to do evil things

that make them evil.

In the Bible
there are three facets to sin. First has to do with breaking God's laws
that are found in his Word, the Bible. Second applies to rebelling
against God and going one's own sinful way. And third has to do with
falling short of God's standard of perfection; that is, being less than
whole and all that God envisioned for us to be. The latter also includes
sins of omission—not doing what we know we should do—as well as sins of
commission.

And why does
God hate sin so vehemently? Because it destroys those whom God loves us.
It causes us to be spiritually dead, and separates us from the God who
created and loves us, and dooms us to a lost eternity in the place the
Bible calls hell whatever and wherever that may be.

While sin
totally destroys those whom God loves, his mercy and love have provided a
way of escape from sin's destructive consequences for all who put their
trust in him and become a true Christ follower or Christian.

Prayer: "Our
Merciful Loving Father, please help me to understand the totality of
sin, its devastating consequences, and why you hate and despise it. Help
me also to understand your plan of salvation and deliverance from sin's
dreadful consequences through Jesus Christ and be absolutely sure that I
have accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior and have received your gift
of forgiveness and eternal life. Thank you for hearing and answering my
prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen."

Have a Blessed Sunday and God Bless you.

Romans 8:35-37 (NIV). Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall
trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or
sword? ... No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through
him who loved us....... Thoughts on This Verse... ''More than
conquerors.' ' What a great phrase. In Christ, this is who we are:''more
than conquerors.' ' No hardship, enemy, physical disaster, not even
death, can separate us from Jesus. Once our lives are joined to Jesus,
our future is tied to him (Col. 3:1-4).

Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. (Psalms 37:3-5 KJV)

QUOTE FOR TODAY

Truth is now simply a matter of etiquette: it has no authority, no sense of rightness, because it is no longer anchored in anything absolute. If it persuades, it does so only because our experience has given it its persuasive power, but tomorrow our experience might be different.

PRAYER FOR TODAY - FATHER HELP US TO PRAY WHEN HARD TIMES COME AND GIVE US THE GRACE TO OVER COME THEM AND THE PEACE TO GET THROUGH THEM ..I PRAY YOU HELP US TO SEEK YOU IN EVERYTHING WE DO MOSTLY WHEN THINGS GO WRONG IN JESUS NAME AMEN

Moment In The Word

Serve God

Greetings
TODAY'S VERSE
"Acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted
devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and
understands every motive behind the thoughts."
I Chronicles 28:9 (NIV)

TODAY'S THOUGHT

It is easy to say that we are a Christian. There isn't much of a demand
being placed on that confession. As far as the world knows, saying that
you are a Christian doesn't mean much. Statistically the lives of
Christians doesn't differ that much from their secular counterpart. But
that is not the way God intended it to be. He doesn't want lip service,
He wants our lives. We have been called to follow Christ in the way we
think, feel and behave. David knew the seriousness of following God.
When he commissioned his son, Solomon, to build the Temple, he
challenged Solomon to live Godly. He told him to acknowledge God as the
Lord of everything and serve Him with both wholehearted devotion and a
willing mind. God doesn't want pretense, He wants sincerity and
authenticity. That is why He searches our heart and motives. Today,
dedicate your life for His service. Decide to serve Him wholeheartedly.

TODAY'S PRAYER

Father, thank You for the opportunity to serve You. Help me to be true
to You and to serve You with wholehearted devotion and a willing mind.
In Jesus' Name.
AMEN

TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
-I willingly serve God with all my heart
Picture yourself happily serving God. Sense His affection toward you.
Feel your joy as you willingly do His will. Take a deep breath and let
your dedication to God fill your being and as you exhale affirm, "I
willingly serve God with all my heart."

Re: Source:- GOOD NEWS

Isaiah 61:10 (NIV). I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a
robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels...... . Thoughts on This
Verse... This is God's promise to his people after their Messiah comes
with healing and power to bless them with the Lord's favor. In many
ways, this is our promise as Christians. We do rejoice greatly because
God has delivered us from law, sin, and death through the coming of our
Savior and Lord. Because of Jesus' sacrifice, as God's children we are
clothed with Christ (Gal. 3:26-27) and given garments of salvation and
robes of his righteousness.

Many are Cold & Few are Frozen

"But mark this:
There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of
themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to
their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving,
slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good,
treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of
God having a form of godliness but denying its power..." - (2 Timothy
3:1-5, NIV).

I read about a vessel discovered over a century ago among the icebergs of the Arctic ocean with the captain frozen as he was making his last entry in the log-book. The crew were also discovered some in their hammocks and some in the cabin all frozen to death. The last date in the log-book showed that for thirteen years that vessel had been moving among the icebergs, "a drifting sepulcher manned by a frozen crew."

Someone suggested that there are some churches in a similar condition. Today's Scripture talks about people who have a form of godliness but without its power. Certainly there are some churches and religions like that too. They have an outward form of godliness but are frozen in that,
while they have the outward trappings of religion, they are out of touch
with God and reality.

Jesus said:
"For many are called, but few are chosen. That is, many are called by
God but few prove themselves to be chosen ones in that they do nothing
about God's call to follow and serve him. Someone jokingly "translated"
this verse to say, "Many are cold and a few are
frozen." Many a true word is spoken in jest.

While millions
of people around the world desperately need the gospel, most of us who
call ourselves Christian give little for or do anything much about it.
Nor do we give much to help in that less than three percent of
Christians tithe of their income for God's work. And

even then the average church spends 95 percent of its income on itself.

In the last few
years we have seen a great acceleration of some of the worst kind of
violence and terrorism around the world committed by radical Islam
(Muslims) all in the name of Allah. Let us not kid ourselves, their
relentless goal is to kill the infidels, namely: Christians, Jews,
Americans and other Westerners.

The only answer
to combat evil is the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, and
unless we the church, and we Christians (and even our governments) wake up and "smell the gunpowder," I am afraid we will be witnessing an
ever-increasing amount of violence and terrorism
around the world. Capturing Saddam Hussein, as thankful as we are for
that, will not do away with evil, nor will it stop evil's continuing
onslaught.

More
importantly, let us heed God's Word that says, "'Wake up, O sleeper,
rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.' Be very careful,
then, how you live not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every
opportunity, because the days are evil."

Prayer: "Our
Heavenly Father, please use me to be a shining light in the world's
darkness and do what I can to help spread your gospel message around the
world. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In
Jesus Mighty Name I Pray, Amen."

God Bless you.

Re: Source:- GOOD NEWS

Romans 5:9-10 (NIV). Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!...... Thoughts on This Verse... Jesus did more than die for
our sins; he lives as resurrected Lord. So if God would empty heaven of
his Son, let him die on the cross, and then raise him from the dead to
save us, just think what God has in store for us now that he has saved
us! When it comes to Jesus' saving power and God's amazing grace, we
haven't seen anything, yet!

An Irreversible Spin

"Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is

full-grown, brings forth death." - James 1:15 (NKJV).

Following the crash of an Aeroflot jet in Siberia, which killed all 75 people

aboard in March
of 1994, the voices heard on the recording were ones of terror! They
came from a chilling scene. Apparently the pilot was giving his children
a flying lesson at the time of the crash.

The transcript
from the cockpit tapes reveals the desperate situation. "Daddy, can I
turn this?" cried the child who was sitting in the captain's seat.

Then came the voice of the captain shouting, "Get out! Get out! More than a

dozen times he yelled out to his son who had "accidentally pushed the right

pedal, sending the aircraft into an irreversible spin."

Sometimes the
choices we make seem insignificant at the time, but when we stop living
the life we believe, we end up unhappily believing the life we live. In
so doing we can put our life into "an irreversible spin" and unless we
face the reality of our actions and call to God for help, in the long
run there's no way out.

Prayer: "Our
Loving Heavenly Father, help me to so live that I will never ignore your
Word with its moral principles for daily living or forget you and
thereby place my life in an irreversible spin. And thank you that when I
am in trouble and call out to you for help, you always hear and answer
my prayers. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully,
In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen."

Have a Blessed Monday and God Bless you.

Proverbs3:21-22 (NIV).
My son, preserve sound judgment and discernment, do not
let them out of your sight; they will be life for you, an ornament to
grace your neck....... Thoughts on This Verse... God used his wisdom to
create the cosmos and all that is in it. Through his discernment, he
appointed to each being and to each item its place in his dazzling
display of diversity. He has chosen to share that wisdom and discernment
with those who reverence him and search for his wisdom. If we will use
that wisdom and discernment we will possess the greatest of all jewels
and a blessing that will enrich our life.
Fly With The Eagles

"Those who hope
in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like
eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be
faint." - Isaiah 40:31 (NIV).

A friend of
mine has trouble with Japanese bonsai trees in that he sees tiny trees
with great potential inhibited because they have been root-bound by man.
Others have trouble seeing animals and birds trapped in cages for the
same reason. For example, how do eagles feel in cages in zoos? These
magnificent birds, created to soar to the heights of mountaintops, do
they get frustrated? Are they fulfilled? How could they be?

Too many of us,
who were created to reach our total God-given human and spiritual
potential, are trapped in a cage of our own or of another's making. We
fail to resolve the problems in our life that hold us back. True, we may
have been wounded in the past, but God wants us to be healed, to be
made whole, to be free to fly, to soar to the heights of all that he has
for us.

We have a
choice, we can scratch in the dirt with the turkeys or we can rise up to
follow Christ and fly with the eagles to the heights that God
envisioned for us to reach. That choice is ours.

Prayer:
"Almighty God, help me to fully grasp the fact that you have a wonderful
plan for MY life. Help me to discover what this is, and create in me a
restlessness until I discover it. And help me to begin fulfilling that
plan today by seeking you until I discover it. Thank you for hearing and
answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen."

Have a Blessed Sunday and God Bless you.

James 5:16b (NIV). Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for
each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is
powerful and effective... .... Thoughts on This Verse... So many hearts,
hopes, and homes are broken by sin. This brokenness infects our culture
and invades our lives. God has provided both a deterrent to sin and a
means of forgiveness for its guilt: honest and genuine confession of our
sin. At the heart of confession is a passion to see sin for what it is
in the eyes of God and to be anguished for our participation in it. No
wonder confession is so healing (cf. 1 John 1:5-2:2). No wonder God
wants us to confess our sin to each other and then come to him for each
other's healing from sin and its damage. No wonder God grants such power
to the prayer of a righteous person interceding for one led to confess.
Let's confess our sin and leave it behind.

Moment In The Word

Power And Majesty
Greetings

TODAY'S VERSE

TODAY'S VERSE
"We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the
power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of
his majesty."
II Peter 1:16 (NIV)

TODAY'S THOUGHT

The Bible makes it plain that there is a spiritual battle going on for
the souls of mankind. It is more that good verses bad. Part of the
satanic plan is to imitate God's plan. We are warned that Satan often
comes as a "angel of light." For century's fiction has imitated the
Supernatural. Fairytales, myths, folk stories with magical powers and
super heroes not only imitate the supernatural, they plant a seed of
doubt in actually believing that the Bible is true. After all a
fairytale is make believe so why believe the stories told in Scriptures.
Peter knew this was happening. That is why he insisted that we know
that he and the other disciples were not following some clever invented
story. Instead they were sharing about what they actually witnessed.
They witnessed the very power and majesty of Christ. Majesty, that
splendor of character, greatness, authority and sovereign power that
Christ exhibited in the way He lived. What if you and I could say with
Peter that we were eyewitnesses of this same power and majesty today? We
can you know. We can experience the real, living Christ today, just
like the disciples. Ask Christ if it is true? Go ahead. Talk to Him
about His power and majesty. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you. Today
begin a deeper walk with Him. If you do, you too will join Peter and the
millions of others, who through the centuries, have known His power and
majesty.

TODAY'S PRAYER

Father, I want to know You in all Your power and majesty. I want to be
an eyewitness of the same kinds of things that Peter experienced. Help
me believe. Increase my faith. Make Your supernatural presence a reality
in my life. I pray this in Jesus' name.
AMEN

TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
-I am a witness of God's power and majesty
Today meditate on God's power and majesty. Think of Him in all His
power. See Him in His majesty. Sense His goodness, His kindness, His
grace, His love toward you. Feel His fierceness, His creative power.
Visualize standing in His regal presence. Let His power and majesty feel
your being and captivate your imagination. Affirm, "I am a witness of
God's power and majesty."

Psalm 34:14 (NIV). Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue
it....... Thoughts on This Verse... It is not enough to turn from evil.
We can clean the putrid things out of our life, but if we do not
actively pursue what is good then a worse evil will rush into the void.
(cf. Mat. 12:43-45) Let's be a people eager to do good and with a
passion to''wage peace.''

Moment In The Word
Spiritual Wisdom And Understanding

Greetings

TODAY'S VERSE
"So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you.
We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you
spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always
honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of
good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better
and better."
Colossians 1:9-10 (NLT)

TODAY'S THOUGHT

Do you desire to live a way that will always honor and please God? Do
you want to produce every kind of good fruit with your life? These are
high and lofty goals that Paul wrote for the church. These are goals
that you and I need for our lives. But how? How do we achieve such
spirituality? We do what Paul did. We pray and we don't stop praying
that God would give us a complete knowledge of His will and that we
would know God better and better as we gain in spiritual wisdom and
understanding. It is through knowing God in this deep and intimate way
that we will live the life He desires for us.

TODAY'S PRAYER

Father, please give me a more complete knowledge of Your will for my
life so I can live for you better and better. It is my desire to live a
life that will always honor and please You, so I ask that You will give a
more complete knowledge of Your will and help me gain in spiritual
wisdom and understanding.
AMEN

TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
-God gives me spiritual wisdom and understanding
As you meditate before God fix your mind on knowing Him. See God in all
His power and glory coming toward you. You sense His benevolence toward
you and you cry out for spiritual wisdom and understanding. He hears you
and bids you to come sit at His feet to worship and learn from Him. As
you come to Him you affirm, "God gives me spiritual wisdom and
understanding. "

1John 2:27 (NIV). As for you, the anointing you received from him [the
Spirit] remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as
his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is
real, not counterfeit - just as it has taught you, remain in him.......
Thoughts on This Verse... When we became Christians, we were not only
cleansed by the Holy Spirit; we were also filled with the Holy Spirit.
John speaks of this as our anointing. The Spirit helps us hear the truth
about Jesus and keeps us from surrendering that truth to false teaching
that would diminish either side of Jesus' identity -- Jesus,''God with
us'' or''God like us.'' We abide in Jesus when we hold on to both of
these incredible truths.
God of Minorities

"But the Lord said to Gideon, 'There are still too many men." - Judges 7:4 (NIV).

"It's
easier to fight for one's principles," said Alfred Adler, "than to live
up to them." How true. It's also easier to talk about losing weight, to
think about changing my ways, and to sing about love—than to do these
things. But for all who want to do more than talk, there will never be a
lack of opportunities especially for those who want to serve God and be
a part of his plan.Jesus started Christianity with twelve ordinary men,
was with them for three years, then left the task of spreading the
gospel and establishing his church on earth to them. Think of it. Twelve
very ordinary men! As with Gideon and his tiny band of 300 "warriors,"
God seems to work more often than not through individuals and small
groups. He'll work through you and me and our small groups, too, if we
truly want him to. The wonderful thing is that God uses ordinary men and
women to do extraordinary things—when they make themselves available to
him and ask him to use them as a part of what he is doing in the world
today. May I suggest that you pray the following prayer every day for
the rest of your life?

Prayer:
"Almighty God, I'm available. Please make me usable and use me to be
a part of your plans and what you are doing in my world. Please help me
to be 'as Jesus' to my family, to someone in need, and in some way to
every life I touch. Today! Thank you for hearing and answering my
prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen."

Have a Blessed Wednesday and God Bless you

Moment In The Word
Renew My Mind

Greetings

TODAY'S VERSE
"Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think."
Romans 12:2 (NLT)

TODAY'S THOUGHT

It is so easy to allow secular thinking creep into our everyday living. David Kinniman, the president of the Barna
Group, writes that "we live in a society that values fairness over
justice, consuming over creating, fame over accomplishment, glamour over
character, image over holiness, and entertainment over discernment. "
How true. The Kingdom of God has values that are counter to those that
have been embraced by modern society. So what can we do? The secret,
Paul shares, is to allow God to constantly transform us by changing the
way we think. As we pray, read the word, and commune with the Holy
Spirit we will begin to see the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control become
realities in our life. Peter shares as you gradually increase faith,
moral excellence, spiritual knowledge, self-control, patient endurance,
Godliness, brotherly affection and love for everyone, the more
productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus
Christ. So today, examine your life and let God transform you by
changing the way you think.

TODAY'S PRAYER

Father, I need Your Holy Spirit to help me. I am so vulnerable. It is so
easy for me to copy the behavior and customs of the world. Please help
renew my mind and make me the person you want me to be.
AMEN

TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
-God is transforming the way I think
Bring yourself to God in worship. As you meditate on His loving
presence, let Him speak to your heart. Ask Him, "Lord, where do I need
to change my thinking? What attitudes do I need to correct?" Wait on
Him. Let Him speak to you. Listen to what He says. As you gain insight,
repent and commit yourself to new behavior. Praise God that He is
changing the way you think.

Romans
6:11-12 (NIV). In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive
to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal
body so that you obey its evil desires..... .. Thoughts on This Verse...
If we have been cleansed from perversity, if we have died with Christ in
baptism and have been cleansed thoroughly and completely by the Holy
Spirit, then let's live for God! Let's resist sin, and our inclination
to sin, with all our might, knowing that as we do, the Holy Spirit will
empower us to a much greater righteousness than we could ever live on
our own. Let's begin each day with a conscious decision to be dead to
our sinful past and alive to the goal of the holy character of God!

Moment In The Word
Love As jesus Did
Greetings

TODAY'S VERSE

"But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good
to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who
hurt you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, offer the other cheek also.
If someone demands your coat, offer your shirt also. Give to anyone who
asks; and when things are taken away from you, don't try to get them
back. Do to others as you would like them to do to you."
Luke 6:27-31 (NLT)

TODAY'S THOUGHT

In today's passage, Jesus set a whole new standard for moral behavior.
That is why He starts this part of His sermon on the Mount by saying,
"If you are willing to listen." Our Lord knows how hard it is to follow
what He is suggesting. But what makes this teaching even more amazing is
Jesus did not just teach this, He lived it! This was not a political
speech with moral platitudes given in order to get our votes. This was a
mandate for those that He was calling to follow Him in His own
lifestyle. If we are to follow Jesus, we must love the way He taught us.
When Jesus taught about love, He went much farther than the Shema which
commanded the Israelites to, "love the LORD your God with all your
heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind." He went
much farther than, "loving your neighbor as yourself"'. In today's
passage He said to, bless those that curse us and to pray for those who
hurt us. Finally to turn the other cheek when hit. These are ways to
truly love others. So today, let us love others the way Jesus has
commanded us to.

TODAY'S PRAYER

Father, help me love with Your love. Help me see others with Your eyes.
Help me be filled with Your compassion, guided by Your Holy Spirit, used
as an instrument of Your peace. In Jesus' name.
AMEN

TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
-God will help me love others
Picture yourself bitter, angry and hurt. You are ready to retaliate but
them God speaks to your heart. You see Jesus loving those that crucified
Him and hear Him say to you, "Follow me." You sense the Holy Spirit
begin to empower you and a love toward those that have offended you. It
feels right. You know that this is the way. He has called you to love so
you affirm, "God will help me love others."

1Corinthians 15:54 (NIV). When the perishable has been clothed with the
imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is
written will come true:''Death has been swallowed up in victory.''.. ....
Thoughts on This Verse... As Christians, even if our bodies die, we
don't! Our physical death just means that we will be given immortal
bodies. Christ will raise us up and clothe us with immortality. Death
will not have a hold on us because we are God's children. Victory is
ours. Death does not have the final word; Jesus does, and he
says,''Rise! ''

A TRUE FRIEND

"A friend loves at all times. . ." - (Proverbs 17:17, NIV).

Years ago a friend was talking to me about some people being "cursed

with the affliction to give advice." At the time I had no idea what

he was talking about. Sure sounded strange to me. Now I understand.

According to Webster's Dictionary, people "offering. . .unwanted

advice" are officious. They can also be obnoxious. Such advice can be

and often is a thinly veiled criticism.

I'm not talking about going to a lawyer or an accountant or a car

mechanic or whatever where we need and are asking for professional

advice. What I'm talking about is when we share our struggles and

feelings with a friend and they have a compulsion to tell us what we

should or shouldn't be doing, or to "fix" us. They are in fact

putting us down in that they are assuming that they know our needs

better than we know them ourselves.

Even when some people want us to tell them what to do, it is a much

greater help not to tell them what we think they should do, but to

help THEM come up with their own options and solutions. This is what

a good counselor does. He helps clients see what their options are

and decide for themselves what they need to do.

What I want from a friend when I am feeling in the pits is someone to

listen to me with their heart, give me their presence, and accept me

as I am—and let me know they care—without giving any kind of advice

or trying to fix me.

These friends can be rare. Even rarer is the friend who knows how to

weep with those who weep.

In his book, Out of Solitude, Henri Nouwen wrote, "When we honestly

ask ourselves which persons in our lives mean the most to us, we

often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions,

or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds

with a warm and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in

a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of

grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not

healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a

friend who cares."

May God help us all to be this kind of a friend.

Prayer: "Almighty God, please give me an understanding, caring, and

compassionate heart and help me to learn how to listen to my friends'

pain, to accept them as they are, to communicate to them that I truly

care— without having a compulsion to give unsolicited advice or try

to fix them. To my friends in need please help me to be a friend

indeed. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus loving Name I Pray, Amen."

Have a Blessed Sunday and God Bless you all.

Acts
2:21, 40-41 (NIV). And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will
be saved. ... With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with
them,''Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.' ' Those who
accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added
to their number that day....... Thoughts on This Verse... Call on the
name of the Lord! Proclaim him as your risen Lord! Share with him in
baptism as the first Christians did. Have God add you to his holy
people. Know that Jesus will save you from the corruption that plagues
our world and so many of our lives. You see, God sent Jesus to save,
redeem, restore, and bless. Share in the joy of that salvation. Don't
wait! Today is the day of salvation! Share in it. Rejoice in it. Pass it
on to others. Christ our King has come to bring his salvation to all!

THOUGHTS FOR TODAY

Ephesians 6: Putting on the Armor of God.
The Bible warns us that we are in a battle: "Be self-controlled
and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion
looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith,
because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing
the same kind of sufferings (1 Peter 5:8-9 NIV)."

Any good thing we have the Devil wants to destroy. And this includes our mental health.
To be successful in Spiritual Warfare, we must keep both our
thinking and our behavior under control and in conformity with
Scripture.
Controlling our thinking is of fundamental importance. It makes
peace and self-control possible. Controlling our thinking will prevent
spiritual footholds from developing. And it will weaken and make
possible the destruction of those that already exist.
"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in
God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high
thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:4-5 NKJV)."
Thoughts contrary to the expressed will of God are inevitable. The objective is not to entertain them; not to dwell on them. Every
time you entertain a thought contrary to the will of God, you are
giving an advantage to the Devil in some way even if you don't
experience any immediate negative consequences. Dwelling on such thoughts results in "strongholds" or footholds. Anytime Satan gets a spiritual foothold,
he gains the power to harm you in some way. And he can, within the
permissive will of God, use that power to harm you whenever he wants.
The Bible tells us how to be successful in our battle with
Satan: The basic Biblical instructions are found in Ephesians 6: "Be
strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.
For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against
evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers
in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places
(Ephesians 6:10-12 New Living Translation) ."
"Without God's armor believers will be defeated by the schemes of the devil which have been effective for thousands of years."1
The Bible provides detailed instructions on how to use God's
armor. These instructions use the then familiar analogy of a Roman
soldier getting ready to go into battle: "Therefore put on the full
armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to
stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand
firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray
in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.
With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the
saints (Ephesians 6:13-18 NIV)."
Christians have different views in terms on how to apply this passage. I'll tell you what I think.
I believe the passage means to be sure to use all your
spiritual weapons. Imagining yourself putting on the armor is a great
way of reminding yourself of what you need to do each day to avoid being
defeated by the Devil.
Putting on the armor doesn't magically protect you. I know this from experience! Armor has to be both put on and used.
Here's what I suggest: Every morning, imagine yourself putting
on each piece of the armor. You don't have to move your body. Then
recite at least one Scripture or one Biblical principle relevant to what
you're struggling with—that goes with that piece of armor. Don't say the same thing every day. I'll provide an example.
First, I put on the belt of truth. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13 NKJV)."
Second, I put on the breastplate of righteousness: "It is written 'love your enemies' (Matthew 5:44)." "By faith and love I can protect my heart (1 Thessalonians 5:8)." "Today, I'm choosing forgiveness as an attitude."
Third, my feet are fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
This Scripture "refers to a believer's stability or surefootedness from
the gospel which gives him peace so he can stand in the battle."1 "I will fear no evil for you (God) are with me (Psalm 23:4 NIV)."
Fourth, I take up the shield of faith with
which I can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. "It is
written: 'Therefore I (God) tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer,
believe that you have received it, and it will be yours' (Mark 11:24
NIV)." "The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him,
and I am helped (Psalm 28:7 NIV)."
Fifth, I put on the helmut of salvation. "My hope is in Jesus Christ; that hope cannot be taken away (1 Thessalonians 5:8)."
Sixth, I take up the sword of the spirit,
which is the word of God. "It is written: 'Be joyful always; pray
continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will
for you in Christ Jesus' (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV)."
Finally, prayer. You don't put on prayer. But
prayer is essential. You can't defeat the Devil without it. You can
remind yourself of its importance by reciting a Scripture dealing with
prayer as in the foregoing example.
It is my recommendation that you put on the armor as soon as you wake up. This is important since you will sometimes find yourself under attack before you even get out of bed.
So that's it. The battleground is primarily in our minds. The
idea is to base our thoughts and behaviors on Scripture not on how we're
feeling. If we go by our feelings, we will be defeated.
Ephesians 6 makes it possible for us to understand the
spiritual battle we are in and win. It makes it possible for us to
experience the blessings of God rather than the torment of the Devil.

QUOTEDo we realize
that there is nothing the devil dreads so much as prayer? His great concern is
to keep us from praying. He loves to see us up to our eyes in work provided
we do not pray. He does not fear because we are eager and earnest Bible
students provided we are little in prayer.

PRAYER
Dear Lord,

You know the temptations that I am facing today. But your Word
promises that I will not be tempted beyond what I can bear. I ask for
your strength to stand up under the temptation whenever I encounter it.
Your Word also tells me you will provide a way out of the temptation.
Please, Lord, give me the wisdom to walk away when I am tempted, and the
clarity to see the way out that you will provide. Thank you, God, that
you are a faithful deliverer and that I can count on your help in my
time of need.

Amen

Creative Solutions

"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path."

- Psalm 119:105 (NIV).

Ideas can come from the strangest places. Creative genius comes to people who are open to new ideas and seeing different ways of doing things.

For example, in 1964 the freighter Al Kuwait which was carrying 6,000 live sheep capsized and sank in Kuwait's harbor. The sunken ship with its decomposing cargo was presenting a serious threat to the country's water supply through its desalination processing plant.

To overcome the problem the ship had to be raised and moved to a safe place without falling apart and dumping its poisonous contents into the nation's water supply.

Karl Kroyer, a Danish engineer working in Kuwait came up with a novel idea. He pumped 27 million ping-pong balls into the freighter's hull which slowly raised it to the surface.

And where did he get this idea? From a Donald Duck comic book.

Somebody sank Donald's boat and he and his feathered friends raised it by filling it with ping-pong balls!

When it comes to creative and meaningful living the most valuable

resources are found in the Word of God, the Bible. It pays to know it and hide its truths in one's heart.

Prayer: "Almighty God, please give me a greater love for your Word, the Bible, and help me to live by its principles so it will truly be 'a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.' Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus loving Name I Pray, Amen."

Have a Blessed Friday and God Bless you all.

Zechariah
4:5-6 (NIV). He answered,''Do you not know what these are?''''No, my
lord,'' I replied. So he said to me,''This is the word of the LORD to
Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD
Almighty.''. ..... Thoughts on This Verse... There are times in each of
our spiritual lives when we face challenges far too big for our own
resources and strengths. Zerubbabel faced such a challenge. God sent a
prophet to remind him, and us through him, that our greatest victories
will not be won by our power and might. No, these greatest victories,
the ones that catch us up in God's great story of salvation, will occur
when we trust that God's power is greater than our weakness and God's
might is greater than our insufficiencies. The real question that each
of us must face is very simple: in our personal lives, and in our
ministry efforts, where do we place our trust and what is the source of
our confidence? Are they in our abilities, skills, insight, and strength
or God's?
Moment In The Word

Quenching Your Thirst
Greetings

TODAY'S VERSE

"Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no
money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and
without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on
what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and
your soul will delight in the richest of fare."
Isaiah 55:1-2 (NIV)

TODAY'S THOUGHT

What an invitation. What an opportunity. What a heart felt plea from God
to each and every one of us. Given a free will, we can choose what we
do with our lives. We can decide who we want to follow. We can choose to
fill our life with things that will never satisfy. But God loves us so
much that He pleads with us to wake up, to consider our priorities and
choose life. In an allegory, God calls every person who is thirsty deep
in their soul, to come and drink His waters of spirituality. He can
quench our thirst. Knowing that we are spiritually bankrupt, He says buy
what our soul needs from Him and charge it to His account. And then in
what I think is a deep cry out to our materialist society, God says,
"Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not
satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will
delight in the richest of fare." God loves you and desires that you live
your life in His abundant grace. Come to Him today. Take all that your
soul needs. Feast on His love and care for you. Let your soul learn of Him and grow. Come today, to His waters and never thirst again.

TODAY'S PRAYER

Father, thank You for Your love for me. Thank You for Your grace. Thank
You that I can come to You today and drink of Your love, mercy and
grace. Thank You for loving me unconditionally so that I will never
thirst again. My soul delights in You.
AMEN

TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
-God quenches my thirsty soul
Visualize today's verse. See yourself coming to God parched with soulful
thirst. You can feel an emptiness and ache that you cannot quench.
Sense your frustration, your despair as you don't know what to do. But
then you hear Jesus calling you. He says, "Come to the waters; and you
who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without
money and without cost." Feel the joy in your heart as you know that
this is a real invitation. See yourself coming to Him, drinking in His
water, eating His food and satisfying your soul and feeling a deep
satisfaction. Affirm, "God quenches my thirsty soul."
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU

Proverbs
10:7 (NIV). The memory of the righteous will be a blessing, but the
name of the wicked will rot....... Thoughts on This Verse... Sometimes
the wisdom of God is short, succinct, and sweet for those who seek to do
his will. I refuse to live the kind of life that poisons the lives of
those I touch and leaves rot in the heritage of my descendants. I want
my children and grandchildren to remember me with sweet thoughts because
their dad, and granddad, sought to be righteous and love the Lord with
all their hearts.

The Answer Is In Your Hands

"Don't store up treasures here on earth ... Store

them in heaven where they will never lose their

value." - Matthew 6:19-20 (TLB).

According to legend, writes Zig Ziglar, a very wise

old man lived on a hilltop overlooking the beautiful

city of Venice in Italy. It was reputed that he could

answer any question anyone might ask him. Two local boys figured they
could trick him so caught a bird and took it to the wise sage.

"Tell us," they asked, "is the bird in our hand dead

or alive?"

The wise man replied, "Son, if I say the bird is alive, you will close
your hands and crush it to death. Or, if I say the bird is dead, you
will open your hands and it will fly away. The answer is in your hands."

And so it is with life. Whether we succeed or fail, live a meaningful or
empty life, lay up treasures in heaven or go empty handed to meet our
Lord and Savior, it's all in our hands! For whatever we sow we reap.
It's the law of the harvest. - Galatians 6:7.

Prayer: "Our Loving Heavenly Father, help me to invest my life in
eternity and lay up treasures in heaven so I will reap abundantly in
this life and the next—for your praise and glory. Thank you for hearing
and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen."
The power of Forgiveness - Author Unknown

When
a believer considers how much God has forgiven him, he is able to
extend pardon to others no matter what they have done. A Christian
husband found this to be true when his wife, who had become an
alcoholic, told him of an affair she had had with his best friend 10
years earlier. She said she experienced such feelings of guilt that the
bottle was a means of escape. Anger and resentment began to sweep over
him, for his wife's drinking had embittered their children and nearly
destroyed their home. He was also deeply hurt by the fact that his close
friend had betrayed his trust. Then he remembered Jesus' words,
"Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors."

As he thought of God's mercy toward him, he prayed for grace to do the Christlike thing.

Here
is his description of what happened the next time he met the man who
had caused him such heartache: "With a sob in my soul, I reached out my
hand and gripped his, and for the first time in my life I knew what it
was to forgive. I felt a tremendous sense of release as the unbearable
weight of bitterness was lifted from my heart. This freedom enabled me
to renew my love for my wife, and to overcome the barrier that had
arisen between us. When I said to her, 'I forgive you and will accept
you just as I did when I pledged to love and cherish you unto death,'
the healing process began its wonderful work."

Have a Blessed Tuesday.

1John 4:12 (NIV). No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another,
God lives in us and his love is made complete in us....... Thoughts on
This Verse... What an incredible thought! God can be seen in my home.
The Father of the universe lives in my church. The Almighty God's love
is recognizable in my life. How so? When I love those around me, when
they love me back, when we choose to be loving instead of petty,
unforgiving, critical, and harsh, God's presence, power, and perfection
are revealed in us!

Mind Diseases

"Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord [enthusiastically] ."- Paul, in Romans 12:11 (NIV).

There are two serious diseases of the mind that most, if not all of us, will encounter at some time. These diseases have been the cause of ineffectiveness and the death of innumerable churches, organizations, businesses, individuals and nations!

They can afflict the young but mostly those who are above 40. The symptoms are often obvious to outsiders but usually totally oblivious to those inflicted with either of these diseases.

The first disease is "homeostatus" which is a clinging to the status quo with a refusal to change no matter what. The ancient Israelite suffered from this disease when God delivered them out of slavery in Egypt. When things got tough on their road to "recovery," theydoubted God and wanted to go back to Egypt. Crazy, you say, but that's what they wanted. As the saying goes, "Better the devil you know than the one you don't know!"

The other disease is "psychosclerosis, " a hardening of the attitudes. This disease is equally destructive. Its symptoms can be varied such as legalism, rigidity, arrogance, apathy, Phariseism, having a closed mind and so on. It is just as deadly as homeostatus.

We need God's wisdom and insight to guard against these crippling diseases. They are two of the enemy's powerful weapons designed to render us ineffective in God's causes.

The remedy? Daily commit and trust your life and way to God, know what his Word, the Bible, teaches and genuinely seek to live in harmony with his will. Ask God every day to keep your eyes open and keep you on the "Truth Road."

Prayer: "Our Loving Heavenly Father, please deliver me from the mind diseases of homeostatus and psychosclerosis. And in the words of the song writer: 'O Lord please light the fire / That once burned bright and clear / Replace the lamp of my first love / That burned with holy fear.' Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen."
