*The Resurrection Body* by Dr. Charles F. Stanley

*The Resurrection Body*

*Read John 5:25-29 *

*The apostle Paul's systematic rebuttal to the heresy in the Corinthian
church contains three major parts. We first learned the hope-less attitude
that is inevitable for a believer denying the
Resurrection- --life has little meaning if death is truly the end.; The
second lesson explained that believers share in Christ's resurrection,
return, and reign. Finally, we will now be turning our attention to see how
God wants people to respond when they hear that Jesus died and rose
again.*

*The Lord desires that every person be saved. (2 Peter 3:9) Upon death,
those who have chosen to disregard Christ and the Resurrection will not
instantly turn to ashes while Christians head for heaven; all souls are
subject to the final trumpet call. Unbelievers' bodies will one day
rise from the grave, too---standing before God to face judgment, they will
be condemned for unbelief and sent to torment. (Daniel 12:2)*

*Many people deny the Resurrection in an attempt to ignore the approaching
day of accountability. They say, "A loving God would not send anyone to
hell." No, the Lord does not condemn people to everlasting torment, but
works tirelessly to draw their attention to Himself and move them off the
path to eternal destruction. Unbelievers condemn themselves by refusing the
Lord's salvation gift.*

*Believers, who accept Christ's gift, experience a far different eternity.
Resurrection is the promise of new life---our bodies will be renewed, and
we'll enjoy the continuous presence of holy God. There is no existence
superior to the one spent in constant fellowship with our loving Father.*
